At age 62 with a bad shoulder I think we are going to need to get a young guy on the boat to do the pole. I prefer to be the rail meat with the video camera and to grind a few winches. The foredeck stuff is best handled by someone with good balance and good strength and that ain't me.

We could probably have made it.... You can hear Ross say we had room. We discussed that after the tack. We just got nervous about a potential collision.

The maneuver with the pole is quite similar to the one to jibe a symmetric spinnaker, lots of practice :D
