    Great video. Having heard the recent promotion for micropuncture kit use in the ED it was great to have such a high quality video put out on it.

    Great information. Check with your vascular access team about the modified seldinger technique, in which you would not need to upsize your guide wire. You may be familiar with this process. It also decreases the need to skin knick, preventing increased occurrence of bleeding and infection. Thanks for the video.

    Can you leave the catheter as art line?

      You can leave the sheath; note that a 4Fr sheath is roughly an 18g catheter and 5Fr is about 16g - so if you're comfortable with an art line that size, you're good to go. I simply place the wire from the micropuncture set (great for those old, calcified vessels and/or vasculopaths!), then place the an Arrow 20g art line catheter over the wire.
