I have Gallop and i love this in fall and winter i dont smell the poop lol . It gives me the leather saddles smell mostly . the opening is abrasive for me but it turns fantastic so its a keeper . Awesome review. My next Purchase will be Hermes Calache good ol school banger ! It dries down to a good chypre vybe . Soir de lune Esc. its a dry rose and leather saddle thang good job Galop !

I own and love Galop which is overlooked by many. The rose leather pair is refreshingly unique in a sea of releases. Funny enough, JCE later made Rose & Cuir for FM. I always find it a twin sister to Galop.
Galop can only be purchased in a Hermès boutique. Given its price and distribution, Galop in my book is a niche release.
Oh yeah, two days in a row. Lucky us. Do you get any similar touches to galop and oud rosewood by dior or Santal noir? Speaking of junk, I have sauvage elixir on my arm, and I’m trying not to scrub it off. I enjoyed it the first 5 minutes, but it just turned into a chemical mess like all the others.

Love Galop, one of my all-time favourite scents. Always have to have a bottle. There’s definitely lots of people that know about Galop but I do think it’s under the radar… ✌🏽🥳♥️
I like that the 125mL refills are relatively affordable compared to the 50 mL bottle as well! Just keep topping it off.
I always thought this was a hidden gem and also can't believe it has been out for so long, in my mind it is still a new release! I never got the metallic note I've heard you speak about but I do get a bitterness which connects it to the bitter aspect of the IBQ used in Rose et Cuir. Nagel's perfumes always have such a wonderful sense of texture and I always felt Galop is super plush and cozy, like a big red velvet couch.
Big red velvet couch, we all see something different, and that’s what makes this unique.
Yes, I feel the same about Nagel's Hermes scents. You can practically touch them.

I also don't find Galop D'Hermès overlaps with Rose & Cuir that much. I do find that it overlaps with two Hermessences: Cuir D'Ange for a similar leather note, and Myrrhe Eglantine for it's spices!
YAy! You're back with the reviews and this one is amazing! I love this perfume and I loved hearing you talk about it. It made me realize that it is metallic--soil is often slightly sweet and metallic too. What I love most about this perfume is it smells like quince, leather and rose but you can't feel when one starts and the other ends!

My wife wears this and I love it on her and that's the only reason I don't wear it myself. But I get no horsiness from it. Earthiness yes and definitely patchouli. Beautiful fragrance.

What I meant was how futuristic it felt, kind of cosmic and outer spacey, aliens slipped out when it shouldn’t have, LOL!

Horses eat a vegan diet, with loads of grass and hay, and they poop a lot. It's wonderful to feel you are near horses in their field, where moss and dirty grass make part of it. Then comes the Sun to kiss you with it's warmth. It's like reminding our first contact with grass at school, as we step on the soccer field, for our first soccer exercise.
