Yeah I agree, problem is 4 out of the 5 I've in for reviews/videos have a built in battery! Seems to be a trend these days, but in Europe they are making phone makers design models with easy to replace batteries (should have been this way all along!). I don't think this built in battery trend is sustainable particularly for products like this with high drain on batteries.
Flashlights with built-in, non-replaceable battery are meant for corporate or departmental use. They simplify assets management on one side, and allow the flashlight to be more compact and cheaper. The dark side of built-in batteries is the short lifetime of the flashlight, two or three years of use: this is fine for a department, but it is unacceptable for a collector or a private user, especially when Nitecore et al. don't provide a service manual and spare replacement batteries...
@@Ray_of_Light62 I have to be honest it wipes out any interest even in keeping them (and I don't even pay for them! OK I have to work a bit to make a video). I lose interest quickly with a built in battery as the fun is over a couple of years down the road, it's wasteful too. Not super Eco based, but it's pointless to have disposable items like this when a simple battery change extends the working lifespan.

@@jackglennon497 The new LEDs are useful with more range, but as I said the trend of "built in battery" models is a put off and I continue to not be that interested in ones which have it. The charging time is reasonable IMO for the 21700 cell.
This one is a keeper. I'll be getting the TM09K Pro shortly. I never use the strobe mode on my flashlights, so I'll be not shedding tears because the new TM09K Pro doesn't have it. Some people consider the strobe mode to be important, but I don't see the purpose of it, other than being very annoying when I engage it by mistake. I'm happy to see how the TM09K Pro can sustain the high mode - 2,000 Lumens - consistently. The possibility of switching between high intensity flood mode and spot mode - albeit only for a short time - allows for a complete scan of the surroundings at night. I would remark the fact that in most Nitecore flashlights using the inset pedal button, such control is to switch between Low - Medium - High - Turbo modes, while in the TM09K Pro the pedal button invokes the flood/spot light blast, while the On/Off button allow to select the normal brightness levels. The only other Nitecore flashlight that has this type of UI is the SRT7i, the one with continuous brightness control via a rotating ring. Thank you for your review, it is highly appreciated. It's pretty good overall the new LEDs are sort of a game changer in terms of the beam output, really the previous ones were pretty floodlight beam a bit too much for me, with this you can get a decent bit of range out of it, that's the difference and it's well worth it I think.
Beautiful review! Always nice and concise on the UI. Really enjoyed the night shots and music with the different venues. Very interesting LEDs and then using regular reflectors, instead of an hybrid. Pity about the spacing, would have been nice to have a 1000 lumen level for longer runtimes. Not a deal breaker though. I wish they would make the battery accessible, once it’s out of power the light is done until recharged. Should provide years of service, not sure if Nitecore will be able to replace the original battery when it is needed? 👍 Mr Baz

I'm not into the built in battery concept either I hope it changes, but I see more and more of them with built in cells. One reason I got a bit bored of these products recently.
@@MrBazReviews It does not bother me if it is a cheaper flashlight that you purchase up to about $50 but if I'm paying $160 I better be able to change the battery !!!!!!!
@@RickyD1968 Trend seems to be growing but I am rapidly losing interest! It bothers me on most products except the tiny keyring/chain ones. Even then I think an AAA one is better!
I like the music you used while doing beamshots. I feel like listening to it while having a night ride. As for the flashlight, I'll always pass to built-in batteries 😅

Awesome flashlight AND I would have purchased this flashlight but the sealed battery compartment and NO strobe is to much of a bad idea for $160 PASS
