    • @Laszer271
      @Laszer271 2 роки тому +26

      But cybersecurity curriculum focuses on defence, on how to make your systems safe. Hacker curriculum in country that doesn't have Internet probably focuses more on attacking and keeping your identity hidden. It's true that hacker can learn a lot taking cybersecurity courses but genuine hacker course would probably be a lot more straightforward and time-efficient way to learn how to hack.

    • @WIDGI

      @Laszer271 2 роки тому +12

      @@WIDGI I disagree. When you learn martial arts you are always taught as if you were to use it for self defence unless you train as police/millitary in which case you ARE trained differently. The difference between being taught how to hack and how design systems to be safe (cybersecurity) is even more visible though. It's like door designer vs burglar - sure both may know a lot about locks but one knows how to make a blueprint and the other may know how to smash a window.

    • @Ollie_Of_Bread

      Say you don't care about humans by saying you care about humans.
      Your cognitive dissonance and implicit bias when the Western world is pushing wages down in Asian production countries and commercializing health care to the point of unaffordability that has caused many people to live and die in misery while being brainwashed by a few stories with few concrete evidence about people dying of famine there or political prisoners in a country that has no implication at all to your life that you need to hate them. Though I can ensure the cyber security here is very poor so doesn't need much skills compare to other countries to hack.
    Reason? Employees are poorly treated and given far less salary to work for them, so most of the highly skilled people work for the foreign companies instead.

    Also for you that are familiar with “The Onion” and the faux newspaper they put out, and it’s one of the Funniest things you’d ever read. They once did a faux story about how Kim Jung Il was the “Worlds Most Eligible Bachelor”, and North Korea took it seriously and spread it all over the country as news from the USA. It was and still is so damn funny as once they found out that it was a prank, I can’t recall if they told their citizens they’d found that out. A true funny as hell story.

    The History of Warfare is a story of "How much damage can one man do?"
    Software is inherently insecure and can never be made secure.
    I do not understand why anyone ever connected critical infrastructure to the internet, it is lunacy.
    The Internet Of Things will make the problems substantially worse - a zillion unnecessary things with very poor security.
    In these days, one man can do incredible damage from a laptop without even getting out of bed.
    This is all going to end very, very badly but I'm nearly seventy so unlikely to be here myself.

      Crazy dictator, short tempered, nuclear war, fat boy and cigars.
      Orange man bad, tiny hands, diet cokes, funny hair cut.
      It was so lazy. I almost felt like the hacking was itself a PR stunt to get ppl to watch their movie. Kinda like the fake gamer gate scandal. Sony actually faked a LOT of UA-cam comments and Twitter comments "attacking" Leslie Jones to get ppl to watch ghost busters lest they be a sexist bigot.

      Many of us thought the hack was a publicity stunt, at least I and several of my colleagues did ... and we worked in military intelligence at the time. When we found out it was real, the irony was certainly not lost on us. If they had just left it alone I certainly wouldn't have cared to see the movie, but the hype around the hack make it that much more desirable, like, what could be so bad that NK wants to stop us from seeing it? Turns out it was just another Franco/Rogan farse, funny, but not particularly special. In the end, I would never have watched it if NK wasn't so butt-hurt about it in the first place.
      The big irony was that they decided to tip their hand and show that they can hack with a campaign that did the opposite of their goal. As with most NK dick-waving, I think their efforts will continue to fall flat (yeah, wannacry was bad, but it's mostly gone now) until they truly understand their adversary (the West) ... which they will not be able to do until they become more like us. And the minute they do that, the regime will fall, which cannot be allowed. And so, they will continue to be a step behind the rest of the world.
      This is why I think the title of this video is incorrect. We certainly do have ways to fight against NK hackers. In fact, we do it effectively every day. They may have come up with a couple of cheap tricks, but if you only ever use the internet as a weapon and fail to understand it's true nature you will always misjudge the degree to which others will go to defend it.
