Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I just hate people giving others thumb-down. You have no obligation to share you skill. If they don't like, simply don't watch. Hope people are more appreciative of others' sharing for free.
+jieyi liang Thank you so much. Most of the people are kind and appreciative like you. Thats more than enough for me :) And i dont have any problem with healthy criticism too.
I got back into drawing and coloring and I love watching your videos. I made a drawing for my late grandfather in high school and still have it, frame that was chosen for it was a bit big but eh, but I didn't have the skills or tools I have now and now i'm working on a newer version of the drawing, the main thing I have difficulty with is doing the water and the ripples the swan and cygnet (young swan) are swimming in.
Wow, you did a great job drawing/coloring your fish. If anyone has a hard time understanding his accent, I would suggest 1st watching the video, then go back and watch again with the "closed caption" ...cc... button enabled. You'll better hear which colored pencils he's using and when. Awesome tutorial!
I truly appreciate your technique. More enjoyable though was being able to see what you are doing. I adjusted the speed to my liking and was able to see how you did it as well as learned why. So many other videos have their hands in the way, like a magic act, they cover over the area and when they take their hand away, it's colored! Even the pencil stroke is important to me as I am learning off of UA-cam. I study these free tutorials and apply them. I'm only six months into it, but I'm hooked. I'm retired and learning a new skill that I always wanted. One more thing, you kept the picture focus nice and sharp, and squared. I don't know why other tutorials have the paper at an angle or keep a blurry picture until the very end. Anyways, thanks again.
Wow - you are really talented. I would love to be able to Draw like you, but even though I'm not that good at drawing, it is still joyful to watch you draw. 👍😊
Thoroughly enjoyed your video - you are very talented - the colors and techniques are amazing - who would have thought of using the eraser the way you did? Great video! Thank you
Great tutorial! Would it possible for you to list the supplies and which colors you used in the info below the video? Thanks so much can't wait to try this.
Fantastic drawing! it was a joy to watch you create such a vibrant fish! You used a white highlighting pencil over the head and fins....could you please tell me what type of pencil this is as well as any other information on it. Cheers Steve
+Nicole P baby oil dries up so fast. since we are using it in minute quantity it will not leave any greasy residues. using a thick paper helps too. I dont know whether it is compatible with fixative spray or not. I dont use fixative sprays for pencil drawings.
Well done and easy presented! Love your fish! She is so shiny and gorgeous! Thank you for your post. Please say again what did you use from the harder pencils under her tummy? thank you
Magnificent! I just wish the video was in real time and not sped up. What did you use to apply the baby oil? It looked like a brush? I couldn't tell because the video was going too fast. Please slow down the videos...it would be much easier to follow. Great job!
I am so glad I watched this video! I have watched a couple of your other videos, but they were speed videos. So, although the artwork was outstanding, I didn't subscribe because I don't feel like I learn much from sped up videos with no explanations. I just happened to notice the minutes were longer on this video and clicked it. Again, I am so glad! I learned a lot, although I admit I would love to see it more in real time. Yes, I would watch an hour long video on drawing a fish, haha! And judging from the amount of people who watch the same real time painting videos that I watch, you might be very surprised at the number of people who would watch a real time pencil art video. Anyway, I am very happy to subscribe to your channel now that I know you will do some slowed down videos with explanations. You are an incredibly talented artist and I am looking forward to learning so much from you!
+Beth Arcuri Thank you so much :D I am definitely going to do more narrated tutorials in the coming weeks. I will try to include real time drawings too.
That was nicely done, thank you for sharing. Interesting you use baby oil. I'd heard of Mineral spirits used in the same way. Is there a great difference?
do u still live in India? if yes then do you get all that art supplies in ur near stores? cause like prismas etc cant be found in India local stores according to my searches! pls give guids frm where n how much costing, should I buy,ty ,ur awesome
+Helik Thakur I stil live in India and i get most of my art stuff from amazon and htconline.in . If you are willing to spend then you should definitely try them :D
Hi Fadil! Can you tell me what kind of paper you are using? Can i use some other colored pencils with baby oil instead prisma colors? I have faber castell. Thanks!
Hi again!........Looked into the issue of buying Derwent Artist Open Stock. It is not available in the US but Derwent emailed me and said that it CAN be bought directly from them online and they will ship it to you. I assume that means anyone, anywhere in the world........but......I don't know how payment is made because the cost is currently "L 1.60." And I'm not sure how an online currency exchange is done. I'm still torn about buying the Artist line. I enjoy Irojiten pencils by Tombow, and they are very, very hard, so I assume I would like the Artist line..........Quandry! How and when do you, sincerely choose to use the Derwent Artist Line as your primary medium in a painting? Your comment spoke to the lack of graininess. I like that. If you had to compare their hardness to a graphite pencil would you say it was somewhere between an HB and and H or an HB and a 2B? That might help me decide. Thanks for all the wonderful demos you share with us. I know you're a doctor but it's clear that you love working in pencil. You can see this by the way your hand moves across the paper as you draw. It's a beautiful skill to watch as the painting develops. These demos of yours are some of my favorite learning tools.......
+Judith A Rowland I think derwent artist pencils are more like an HB pencil. The problem with buying open stock internationally is that even a single pencil can become very expensive due to shipping charges. So i always prefer buying in sets unless i can get single pencils from local store. btw you are right, i love working with pencils :D and i am so glad you liked my demos.
How long had you'd been drawing, when you could just sit down and draw a fish or another animal like you did here. I'd like to know, because I'm considering taking up drawing lessons myself. Thanks, -- Darren.
This is lovely! It was too fast to follow, and I must admit to not understanding you clearly about 1/4 of the time, but this fish is just gorgeous. Please consider real-time videos.
Greetings, Fabulous work!!! I work with Pen/Ink on Bristol paper. I'd like to try my hand at color but want to ask; Will the Prismacolor pencils work on Bristol? Thanks, Todd

Does the baby oil leave any greasy residue or any soak through the page? Can you spray with fixative over baby oil? TIA.
+Nicole P baby oil dries up so fast. since we are using it in minute quantity it will not leave any greasy residues. using a thick paper helps too. I dont know whether it is compatible with fixative spray or not. I dont use fixative sprays for pencil drawings.

Hey could you respond with a link of where to buy the excess oil?? Plsss
Do you find baby oil screws up the paper?

Is the gray pencil you used for the shadow a graphite or drawing pencil or just a gray colored pencil?
did you just use a normal brush to blend, or what did you exactly do there?
It's truly amazing, your advices are so great ! Where did you buy your electric eraser ?
Did u use a dry brush to blend the colors? or was it wet?
Amazing !!!!
What kind of paper do you use?
How long had you'd been drawing, when you could just sit down and draw a fish or another animal like you did here. I'd like to know, because I'm considering taking up drawing lessons myself. Thanks, -- Darren.
Darren Shaver git gud
It's mainly patience, motivation, and tons of practice that will get you there. Don't give up. ;)
Great for my hwk thanks!
can u draw with crayola colored pencils ?😕🙁
This is lovely! It was too fast to follow, and I must admit to not understanding you clearly about 1/4 of the time, but this fish is just gorgeous. Please consider real-time videos.
+Sithean Thank you . Please turn on subtitles then. Real time videos are almost impracticable but i will try.
is it water soluble?
Greetings, Fabulous work!!! I work with Pen/Ink on Bristol paper. I'd like to try my hand at color but want to ask; Will the Prismacolor pencils work on Bristol? Thanks, Todd
