That’s a good idea, we usually sing either come and dine or there’s power in the blood after receiving communion (since it says they sang a hymn) depending on what we feel led to sing (occasionally it’s different but those are our two go-to’s) but I like the idea of singing that too if it feels like things need to stay more solemn and slow but we tend to sing a lot of fast songs at our church unless we feel led to do otherwise.
With how hes playing I can tell hes just flowing with how he feels. Thats something theory cant teach you. He was an awesome musician before he could read

hymns are one of a kind. Its character is distinct from any any worship genre, can't be changed nor replaced! The Best! So sad nowadays that millennial believers can't appreciate hymns anymore.
