Having previously raised endangered tigers and big cats in his family home, Giles travels to Laos in Asia, where sun and moon bears are under threat due to illegal bear bile farming. A pioneering wildlife rescue centre is being built, and Giles and his family move in next door to help. You see the problem with that is, these animals don’t live in America. So as you can probably imagine there’s nothing me or you can do to save these bears, only the south East Asian governments can and animal protection agencies can make that happen

Bears and dogs are actually related to one another (alongside with seals (pinnipeds), they belong to the "dog-like" creatures within the Carnivoran order of mammals)!

The very article you sent actually admits this, which is actually why I really dislike scientific articles from .coms especially. They use "headlies", by acting like the popular myth is "bears and dogs are super close" they are able to set that up as a strawman, and then act like they've debunked some popular myth. When in reality people like Infinit are right, they are 100% correct about the relationship between dogs, bears, and pinnipeds. All of them are part of Caniformia. When people are talking about the relation between those 3 animals, they are obviously talking about their common ancestor over 42 million years ago, something the article brings up too, which further proves that the article is just a straw man for the minority of people who believe dogs and bears are almost the same species, no, they're just part of the same subgrouping, and that's the common belief. Point is, try to trust only .gov and Wikipedia, unlike media, those websites don't make money off of how flashy a title is, so you don't get so many misleading titles like you do from mainstream media and internet articles. People just read the titles, and then make assumptions based off of it.

I doubt Angela meant to get up so close as to touch them. It'd be nearly impossible to do that, regardelss, as they're skittish of humans and more often up in trees than the ground. Besides, there aren't so many of them in the wild, anyway.
Free the Bears (which is where much of this footage is from) does have a volunteer program, though you'd have to pay your way there (post-COVID-19) at the least.

Bears of all kinds are so great. I didn't know much about these guys before this video but they look awesome. Man I hope we don't lose them. That would be unbearable.
The video forgot to mention, that they are also the most aggressive species of bears known to attack humans unprovoked and not much is known about them cause they're that rare.

So nice. I saw one in the Philippines when I was 19 or 20. He was at the JEST camp at Subic Bay. I wonder if anyone else remembers him being there. I went back years later after the base closed. All the jungle on the old navy base had been stripped to bare hills. The JEST camp and the beautiful terraced hull where we had our quonset huts was gone. That was such a time when we still had the old base.

My comment wasn't about a particular species, whether it be bear, rhinos, giraffes, Salmon, Orca Whales, Beavers, the Eagle, etc.
It was a statement/comment about our generation, our kids and grandchildren... long after we are dead and gone and what THEY will be left with under our watch.

@@majoroldladyakamom6948 I had an argument with an American the other day on youtube about how do people enjoy hunting for 'sport & recreation', especially endangered animals. She never answered my question but some of the responses were completely farcical. These included that unless a rubbish shot, a shot to kill meant it was ok to hunt, that it's more humane & animal friendly to shoot to kill an animal for sport than send them to slaughter. I could only criticize people who enjoy hunting if I were a vegan (!), I was only A GIRL & didn't know any better & should wait till I'd grown up before commenting on hunting or extinction (as I pointed out, I'm not a girl at 33 & if I did as she said & sat on my backside doing or saying nothing, than Oops! Too late! A species gone forever. My reply really got up her nose!)! The really mind boggling response I got was that she grew up in a hunting family & would regularly hunt. One day her dad killed a snow leopard & she was devastated by the killing of this creature for fun, that they wouldn't eat (as they did everything else) as it was only a trophy. That somehow meant she cared about animals & the threat of extinction!! It would be funny if not so serious.
