@@laszlocsaplaros6889 That one commander of the three, on the left is wearing polish uniform. Is he supposed to be Józef Bem or some other Pole, Wysocki perhaps?
@@Jester_at_arms He is wearing the uniform of the Polish Legion Uhlans, so he's probably a Pole. Not Bem though, he wears a Hungarian uniform in this film.
Believe me, you don't. This movie presents you a false interpretation of the events that happened in 1848-49 and reeks of the communist propaganda of the early 1950's. I can tell you, because I am a historian, whose main field of expertise is the Hungarian Revolution and War of Independence in 1848-49. If you are interested in the topic, and want to watch a good movie about it, I recommend you the film called 80 hussars, which is, I believe, the best movie shot about 1848-49.
Please put parts also from the movie A kőszívű ember fiai (The Sons of the Man with Stonehearth), It was made also about the Hungarian revolution of 1848-49.
Splendid videa.hu/videok/film-animacio/a-koszivu-ember-fiai-1964-lcbsaRF14AA8uz80 This movie is made of the novel of greatest Hungarian writer, Jokai Mor, who was one of the organizers and leaders of the revolution of 1848, together wit Sandor Petofi, the greatest Hungarian poet. After the revolution he wrote this novel about the events and battles of the revolution, which became one of the greatest Hungarian novels. We can say that this is the War and Peace of the Hungarian literature. From this novel this movie was made in 1963.
It's a bit more complicated. Ban Jelačić was against the Hungarians, and most of the Croats joined him, however the lesser Croat nobility of the region called Turopolje were sympathetic to the Hungarian government and many of them joined the Hungarian Honvéd Army. There were other Croats, who served in Hungarian regiments as officers and when their regiment joined the Honvéd Army, they did as well. For example, one of the Honvéd Army's 13 high-ranking officers, who were executed after the fall of the Hungarian War of Independence in Arad on October 6 in 1849, was a Croat: major general Karlo Knezić.

I would like to know more about the movie. Pity there is no version of it dubbed in English, or even with subtitles.
