Yo. Great channel. Nice vid. I noticed you closing your other eye while viewing. While reviewing the 70". You know you're supposed to keep both eyes open and cup the other eye with your hand. A year of doin this ruined my right eye vision. I had 20/13 vision. That was a long time ago and i still love backyard astronomy

Stunning work with both 'scopes my friend! I'm still working on my post processing and hope to one day get to your level. Amazing images!

Thanks so much for the kind words! I’m certainly not in the higher levels like some but I enjoy how far I’ve come! I should a post processing video soon!

@@MaximumAstronomy My goodness you're very modest! You're post processing is obviously very advanced going by your work! And oh that would be ace thanks! I struggle the most with processing Galaxies so if you ever find time, myself and I'm sure many other sub'ers would be super grateful! Thank You! 😊👍

I've got some time on the Eagle with my Seestar. Surprised to see the Pillars at all. Want desperately to image them with my Askar 120 APO. I'm having issues with the Asiar firmware not properly identifying my location, thus not being able to do PA. FRUSTRATING!

thanks for the comparison video. I recently bought a Seestar even though Ed King suggested not buying one in his video. Well, I was sold on being able to do photometry and spectroscopy with Seestar. Now, your C9.25 OTA with Hyperstar is about f2 right? Seestar is f5. So is it correct to compare 107 min with Seestar to 155 min with C9.25? Maybe at least you could have thrown half of your subs from C9.25 and stack only half :-) Also you did not say if you did the stacking/processing/postprocessing of Seestar pics yourself or just took what Seestar did you? Your beautiful C9.25 picture was probably even postprocessed. So, not a fair comparison I say 🙂

Both images were post processed. The point is just to illustrate how much of a battle the little Seestar can in fact put up against a bigger rig. It’s amazing a $499 device can resolve the pillars and give you an image that is better than most beginner oriented astrophotography devices. Both images from the Seestar and the C9.25 are RAW files edited in PixInsight as a lot of people will do to enhance their final image. Thanks for watching :)

@@MaximumAstronomy Is there a reason you stacked with the C9.25 over an hour more than the Seestar? I'd be curious if actually in reverse, what extremely long integration times on the Seestar could pull in compared to shorter C9.25 times!

I was out with both telescopes the same amount of time, but the Seestar has an issue with dropping frames a lot. So by the end of the night of imaging, the Seestar dropped almost an hour worth of frames that weren’t dropped on the bigger mount. It is one of the things that is most frustrating about the Seestar. You can lose a lot of good data just because of ZWOs software issues. I plan on doing a really lengthy imaging session on the Seestar soon. Something with 8+ hours with it just to give it a good run to see how good it can be.

@@MaximumAstronomy Ah yes I have the same frustration! Often I will image the first 20 or 30 minutes fine, but then will begin dropping significantly and can image hours and only end up with 45 minutes integrated. Frustrating
