I am a big fan of tilt-up EVFs since I had an Olympus EP5 with VF-4, which still sells at €230 EUR on MPB. Sony had excellent external viewfinders (Sony FDA) for some cameras, but dropped this product line, unfortunately. So, today only Leica provides tiilt-up EVF solutions. I am eyeballing with a TL2 and VisoFlex Typ 020 but it is still quite expensive. And what is interesting, that VisoFlex is compatible only with the manual focusing M cameras, since Leica dropped the autofocusing CL/TL product line completely.
New to Leica and when you showed m11 screen it were blinking red peaking lights.. is that focus peaking? How does focus peaking works on Leica m11? Does it works on live view screen?
Thanks for watching. Yes there is focus peaking which is part of the "Capture Assistants" menu (page 3). You can choose the colour you like, Red (default), Green, Blue or White. I'm experimenting with Green. Focus peaking works on the rear screen or the optional EVF. Re Focusing, I mostly use and prefer the optical range finder or guess the focus range depending on the aperture chosen and how much time I have between thinking of a shot and taking it.
Ok… But the comparison/opinion you forgot to mention… M10 with Vizoflex1 or Vizoflex2? Full screen 2.1 MP on the Vizoflex1 or crop 2.1 on the Vizoflex2? And is there a difference between the two on battery drainage? Thanks!
Thanks for watching. I didn't do any tests on the battery drainage. The reality is right now I am not using the EVF's much at all. First preference is use the range finger on the M's, then the back screen if using lenses wider than 28mm and EVF for special situations where I have more time to contemplate and take the shot.
Pixels per millimeter is the same with the VisoFlex 2 on the M11 and M10. The difference is size of the screen in the viewfinder. When on the M11 you get 3.7MP (larger image) and on the M10 you get a smaller image 2.4MP. So when on the M10 resolution is reduced by around 30%.

will visoflex2 has different color to the M11 lcd, mine looks a bit more redish.

Is cropped Visoflex 2 view on M10P better than 020series EVF?
Not sure which is better, depending on your measure. If you have one, no point in getting the other for the M10P.

It’s not great on the m10’s compared to modern evfs. You can check my channel it’s I made a video showing the visoflex 2 on some m10’s
