There needs to be an official investigation into why Writing Duo Matt Sazama & Burk Sharpless (Dracula Untold, The Last Witch Hunter, Gods of Egypt, Morbius & Madame Web) keep getting work & does it have anything to do with having Grade A Blackmail Material on a bunch of Hollywood Executives? :) As only the Venom movies of these Sony live-action turds have made any money, it's going to take Venom 3 taking a massive nosedive at the Box Office for Sony to finally stop making them!
Great review, Filmcast crew! I’ll add a compliment regarding your clean and sleek production decisions while editing the video portion of the show. It feels easy to watch the conversation progress between each speaker.
I'm not great at English but I often hear people say reference when I think they mean depict. Again I haven't seen this movie but I think it is more apt to say that a blockbuster is depicted in the movie rather than it is referenced. A reference means to refer to something. If the people in the movie are in a blockbuster it is not a reference it is a depiction if the early 2000s and they are at the blockbuster. A song like toxic plays in the movie. Well that is not a reference. It is an inclusion of an early 2000s song. It likely depicts and includes dozens of cultural motifs and items of the early 2000s. Their dialogue may reference things or not. But those would be references whereas the other things non dialogue or such are inclusions and depictions. That may not roll off the tongue very well but the reference phrasing is so abundant in today's society I figured I would say what I think is correct wnd that is the words should be depiction or words akin to that. If something specifically is show or experienced on screen or via auditory or other means it is not a reference. Thanks and always enjoyable to see your opinions and perspectives and enjoyable and humorous shows. Thanks
Saw the film with no one else in the theater this past Wednesday, and audiences were smart to stay away. It's absolute dreck. A few unintentionally funny moments to laugh at, but it's so boring. For right now, it's the worst movie I've seen in 2024. Good review, guys!
I've spent more time watching Madam Web reviews than I ever intend to spend watching the actual movie.
Sony is the Pepsi of superhero filmmaking. "Can I have an Iron Man?" "No, sorry, we only serve Morbius." "Can I just have water, then?"

Dakota Johnson's energy is "go girl give us nothing"
I’ve never been more excited for an episode of this podcast
Madame Web felt like a serious reboot of the MTV Movie Awards Spider-Man sketch with Jack Black and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Been listening for years and have never seen your faces... This format is nice
I’m so glad that I’m burned out on Marvel movies. I’ve been missing some stinkers.
Idk guys it REALLY sounds like it’s funny bad lol
