This is exactly what people need to see. Not cherry picking the best run you had over 10 hours of game play. The reality is, not every run is going to be awesome.
CIG needs to address this in two ways imo. They either make the trash bins like a local item cleaner. The moment you put the bottle or junk in it vaporizes it from existence. Or they make bottles just disappear once they are consumed.
You are my go-to UA-camr for SC. As a new player, I often feel overwhelmed but this video made me feel like a big brother was holding my hand and saying, "See, you can do it."
This video was just as enjoyable to watch as flying the C1 is. Thank you. I love the C1. It moves exactly 2 Prospector loads and looks great doing it, and it teaches me careful hangar ingress too.
New player here. I've just upgraded to a C1 Spirit from my Syulen starter package after watching this video. So satisfying and relaxing cargo adventure. Cool gameplay
I don't know if you know about this Farrister but with the Lorville trade district, you can do the same thing that people do at New Babbage common area, albiet a bit more risky/tight fitting. You are able to fly your ship following the tram lines to the platform of the transfer center / Lorville Trade District entrance, and hover-park your vehicle in the proximity, run right out of your ramp onto the platform and into the trade district to use the terminal, which will read all the cargo on your ship just fine. It's incredibly fast if doing any trading at Lorville. Give it a go sometime. Most useful for a quick Beryl run from Ita.
I enjoy your videos and this one is clearly meant for new players. I understand you get scrap because it's cheap and a new player doesn't have a lot of credits but a scrapyard is a hotspot for PvP. Of course Devlin is not Brio's but still I would not advise new players to go there until they get more experience. Any veteran player they will meet there will either pirate them or shoot them down. Otherwise a great video.
I started with a Cutty black. Then moved to a Freelancer for the upgraded Sheila's and guns. The added scu storage was great too. I then moved to the C1 as a CCU. I now use my C1 for everything from ROC mining to trading to bounty hunting. The C1 is better in every way save the cargo space to freelancer and in every way to the Cutty. Love this ship.
just a suggestion, drop down to 1x speed when walking past the new cargo boxes @10:49 It's satisfying to see a full hold and notice the boxes are different colors for different commodities
Yeah, that moon in Clio has been framerate hellhole ever since 3.21 released. I avoid box delivery missions there, for that very reason. I wish I knew why it does that. There's something on the majority of that moon that is causing it, for everyone who goes into the atmosphere. once you're out of it, it was like it was never there. And bonus for throwing away your empty drinks. That's a real Star Citizen.
The C1 is also a capable combat ship that can solo VHRT bounties. Thanks to the large cargo bay you can recover boxes from the ships you've destroyed and make some extra credits.
The duality of Star Citizen players: Farrister, drinking a full bottle at 93% or Citizen Kate, waiting till her character is almost dead of thirst. No in-between!
Great video of the reality of trading! Sadly medical supplies are no secret so I have found you have to sell 60scu over 3-4 stops and enjoy the journey. Though it helps if your not in the dark side 😂
Farrister, i have question for you! What are your PC specs? To play SC in 4K? Like what CPU and what GPU and RAM do you use? :) And i love your videos! It is well explained!
Itd be nice if ships had cappacity to stock bigger sized components. Like with cars, it says you can put 19inch wheels in the book but you can do 21 if you want and it manageble with trade offs. It would be nice if we could do one size bigger on our space ships, sort of upgrading them from stock of the shelf to something more personalized. With trade offs ofc
If you hold L Shift and click item in inventory it will automatically transfer to other inventory. I seen you clicking and dragging items. Just a thought
You don’t have to drag and drop when cherry picking loot. Hold down the shift key and left click on the item. Hey presto, the item is transferred to local inventory
for a long time my comp only let me go to the convention once a year. Now I have a computer and a lovely tobi eye tracker and ready to go. Trying to find a game loop i can use to get established with lots of spare cash. It sounds like using a ROC might be the way? I spent to much money a while back and have several ships that can manage cargo including this one which i love but you need that base cash to even start. I thought about getting the mining ship for quant but as i’m still new that takes money in upgrades and more skill then i have at the moment.
What?? Bins work?! I tried once and couldn't get a bottle to go in the bin so I thought it was a lost cause! That said, how cool would it be if there was a little roomba-bot collecting all the trash? Do they eventually just disappear right now?
I love the look of that thing, but ... The MAX is physicaly quite a bit smaller, holds almost twice as much cargo, has two fuel tanks instead of one, two shields instead of one, and costs less actual money.
Well the C1 has better looks but it's not a direct competitor for the MAX. Instead it competes with the Cutlass Black. Anyway at least you won't be bullied for piloting the most phallic looking ship in the verse 😂
@@GUnit2214 the C1 ($110 WB 64SCU) is a direct competitor to the Freelancer base ($110, 66SCU) and the Cutlass Black ($110, 46SCU) or the Hull A at a stretch ($90, 64SCU). The Max is similar but the price point is a substantial jump ($150, 120SCU). If you want to do ROC mining too then the C1 is probably the best choice with the Cutlass Black and the Freelancer Max being your most viable competition
@@Farrister Looking forward to it! If you don't talk about the Crusader's computer voices, I will actually take umbrage with you. That "landing gear UP!" line may or may not have sold me on an entire lineup of ships that didn't really appeal to me visually except for the Ares and now the Spirit. XD
As soon as it becomes necessary to load cargo manually, the outposts will hopefully no longer be bought empty by Hercules because without a tractor beam and with significantly more cargo space, they will take far too long to be profitable. Small outposts for small ships!
I believe this as well, every ship will have its place. I don't have a C1, but I think it's spectacular - I love it. Instead, I'm a Hercules C2 owner, and I agree with what you said 100%. It's a vehicle hauler, small ship hauler, and would do an excellent job shipping unusually shaped cargo that wouldn't fit in a container (if we ever get such a type of cargo). That's its job first and foremost, with traditional cargo transport a secondary role. I can't wait to see ships like Hull A's, Freelancers, C1s, RAFTs, etc. doing outpost deliveries.

Uh, corrct me if I'm wrong but in these places where there is no armistice. Players can just shoot the cargo door open if they really want to get in as far as i seen in some videos. So technically you don't have to bother closing it.
Lets hope the cargo system brings in some nice profits for the small cargo ships like C1. That maybe changes my mind to choose it. At this point I think it's one of the worst 1-2 players ships for cargo. It's best looking by far. But C2 also is 1-2 person and can alot easier defend itself cause of the shields and HP if needed. Firepower comparable I think. Same goes for connie Taurus. More cargo and better defenses and even more weapons to defend. I just fail to see how a C1 is usefull. A1 I can see because it has bombs. E1 I can see because it for fast personal transport. Probably some private transport. But C1 just so lacking in cargo space for it's size while it's a pretty vulnarable ship. Maybe it good to grind for the C2 and never look back XD.
I know what you mean but honestly you're comparing a whole different category of ship to the C1. The C2 and Taurus are really out of this ones league. Now if you say roc mining things are different. Untill we need store raw goods into cargo boxes. then again things will change cause it will ruin cargo space to have a roc inside.
I think and hope cargo will scale to some extent. I think big ships should be more profitable, but not necessarily exponentially so (or not to the extent they are now). To some extent this is the idea behind low stock high margin versus high stock low margin items
