The point of this fight and the whole tournament was to show Chinese martial arts and it changed to Chinese martial arts being superior to other forms of fighting. He did just that by doing the impossible and not losing. This wasn't supposed to be a death match.

Still I love it how Yujiro first didnt even try to beat him until he was sure that the old Kaioh is trying to kill Yujiro and uses 100%. After that Yujiro went 100% too and literally face tanked these blows from kaioh that destroyed the wall and Yujiro first avoided. I am really interested if Yujiro felt pain but I think not.
One thing the anime messed up here. In the fight towards the end, Yujiro tells baki that he can't remember when the last time he tasted his own blood. And in the fight he's spitting out blood. It's not the biggest thing, but it was a little thing to show that Baki was able to really hurt Yujiro in their final fight.
just imagine you could create a demon face with your muscles. when somebody would ever try to mess with you, you could just put off your shirt, show him your back and ask: "do you really want this?"
