    great video! I just bought the 2022 version of the bracelet and they just added a new mechanism where each turn of the screw clicks in place, so it won’t just freely turn itself free, which is the best of both worlds in my opinion! I’d love to watch a video about it :)

    I wish Cartier also had just a slip on bangle option of this design with no actual opening to come apart. It would be nice to have the choice because I change my jewellery daily!! Thank you, great video I just happen to come across today!!

      Hi Sheri,
      They do make a cuff bracelet, a C shaped bangle which can be taken on and off much easier on a daily basis with no need for screws to be removed etc.

    Are the screws on the side supposed to be screwed into the same direction?

  • @NYCroxmysocks

    Do you find on the closure system that the screws are just slightly ever raised? I feel like mine are just slightly higher? Even though you cant screw it any more in. At least I dont think you can. Ive tried. Also super annoying that the lines are not all in the same pattern. The screws are in different directions than the other circle and lines.

    This is such a wonderful video with excellent explanation! Thank you for sharing! One question for you, please. On the old screw system, is inner part of the screw mechanism smaller and less protruding than that of the new screw system? I am only considering the old screw system, because the protrusion of the screw of the new system seems to hurt and dent my wrist. I am curious if the old screw system is gentler on one's arm (the design on the inside of the bracelet seems smaller and rounder, so I presume it shouldn't dent or hurt as much). Thank you so much!

      Dear Chic, thank you for your lovely words glad you enjoyed the video. The overall shape of the older style is more oval so it sits on the wrist a little better however you could consider a bigger size of the new style which would fit better and be much more comfortable.

      I've worn my Cartier LOVE bracelet non stop for the past 13 years. My style is the older/original one - purchased in 2010. I think the new style was introduced in 2011? Anyway, I believe I understand your questions about the little inner "basket" (my nickname for it) that the base of the screw sits in, which touches your wrist. I've been a professional SCUBA diver for years, so my bracelet was smooshed against my skin, under my thick 7mm wetsuit for hours every day. The small indentation on my skin from the inner screw basket was minimal and never irritating. No problem whatsoever. When I first received that bracelet as a gift, it was shipped from Cartier. My husband put it on, and a few days later, while on the elliptical machine at the gym, my brand new LOVE bracelet went flying off my wrist!!! 😳 Two complete strangers stopped their workouts and were on their hands and knees helping me search for the two little screws!! We found them!!! 😅My husband and I then drove 3.5 hours to the Cartier store to pick out a slightly smaller size/circumference so it wasn't banging around on my wrist so much, and Cartier then put JEWELER's LOCK-TIGHT GLUE onto each screw as they secured it to my wrist. And like I said - 13 years - never once removed and worn in salt water every day! I don't know if I'll ever get a 2nd new style LOVE bracelet, but that larger basket would be something I might not enjoy, given my profession. FANTASTIC VIDE0 - WONDERFULLY DETAILED - THANKS!!

    Hello. I have a 10 diamond thin cartier love bracelet, I feel like the screw is not working well. I close it but if I try to open it hard it opens. Could it be that this is the case or is it failing? Thanks

    • @watchcentre_london8348
      @watchcentre_london8348  3 роки тому

      HI Andrea, no I wouldn't say it is failing. The thin love range has a different mechanism to the standard love bracelets. The amount of metal securing the bracelet is nowhere near enough to stop the force you put to open it. Please see our video on the SM range it go into detail of the mechanics behind the closing system.

    Hello, can you switch out the new version screw back to the old version screw system? The top of my new version popped off and it was replaced 1x and it did it again…. Thank you! Would a Jewler be able to do that? Cartier takes soooooo long for a repair! Karhy

    • @watchcentre_london8348
      @watchcentre_london8348  2 роки тому

      Hi Kathy, I hate being the harbinger of bad news but unfortunately, no. This is not possible as the mechanisms are so different. If you wanted the older screw system the only way would be to purchase/part exchange for the older bracelet.
      Or you could ask Cartier when you take it to be repaired if they would be able to do something like along those lines for you?

    Hello, I have the new version and after seeing this am a bit worried about using it. I heard there is a special glue you can use, at this very moment I forgot the name but what do you think about that? Thank you

    • @watchcentre_london8348
      @watchcentre_london8348  3 роки тому +3

      Hi, no need to be worried, yes there are screw glues which can be used. In the industry, we use a thread glue called Loctite. This is used for Rolex links etc. There are varying types and hardness but please see below link for a normal strength glue which should be perfect.

    It's too bad that Cartier didn't leave well enough alone and keep the original mechanism, the way it was originally designed. Aldo Cippulo did not design the piece to be taken on and off daily. For those who must change jewelry regularly Cartier should offer both locking methods for sale. I for one prefer the more secure mechanism.
    Great video. One of the only videos I've seen that fully describes the two mechanisms.

    • @watchcentre_london8348
      @watchcentre_london8348  3 роки тому

      Hi Mery Mery, well this is a very personal question, the older version given its age may differ in thickness and overall shape however it more secure. The new version's condition will be better and thicker overall however security is compromised. This is something one as an individual would have to take into account and decide which they can live with and what they cannot.
