Each apartment is assigned 2 stickers each sticker is assigned to a specific license plate. The problem these apartments are having is there are 8 people living in a 2 bedroom apartment.
That's the managers fault for letting it go on. You can't legally lease a 2 bedroom apartment to more than 4 adults and they should all be on the lease.
The manager of this place is an embarrassment. There are multiple ways to handle this, but without an on-site manager, the best way would be to have assigned stalls. Give Jeff a list of who is assigned to each stall then give them all Jeff’s number. If someone is in their spot, they call Jeff, he removes the car.
What a big mess. Glad he apologized. Keep doing what you do. Maybe have a meeting with the manager and have them find out how many people are living in one apartment. You two are the best and nicest to everyone.
This may have worked when you had a husband and wife and probably a child. This is no longer the case. The management could care less. The towing company makes money. The residents do this to each other and pay the price in the end.
That, and everyone should have their tag in the exact same visible spot, or you're getting towed, regardless if the tag was just sitting on the seat, or top side down on the dash, no exceptions. Some places are now using Radio Frequency tags, so someone just rides along, and the scanner automatically scans the tag to avoid all this nonsense, but in the meantime ya..
They could, but the problem is people buy, and sell cars all the time. And then it would be a conundrum for the complex. Like I posted earlier when you get your lease, they give you a sticker to put on the inside of your car. If you do not have that sticker or any type of temporary pass that was issued by the complex, the car is going to be towed. There is no, other way around it other than you must have that thing sticker on the inside of your window. And that is a responsible of the renter. The leasing agent normally goes over it very thoroughly.

My husband is like that. He will allow me to handle myself until he gets fed up with the disrespect because he knows, I am about to throw hands. I have gotten in the face of a male who disrespected me at work, and was in the wrong. "Just park the unit over there where I told you to, not where it's convenient for you. If you want to continue hauling for us, the disrespect will be at zero right effen quick!" was what I said. My husband found out and decided, nope, buddy is not hauling for us any more. He lost the hauling contract with us, as well as the company who sub contracted him. He was told to apologize in person to continue with the other company but I refused it. Nope.

I even have a key in the ignition. small town, several cops, no real crime. there is a camera pointed at the car but i've never needed to look at it. I don't need my wallet in the house and leaving home without it gets old fast so I just stash it in my car.
My question is.... when do you two sleep? Calls in the middle of the night and tows at all hours. You need a very loud horn to use on the idiots that call and swear at you. Your patience with these folks is unbelievable. Great videos.
OMG, I'm with you Jeff that Apt building has major parking issues. Maybe the lease needs to be updated to reflect 2 bedroom Apt get 2 stickers that must be adhered to the winow of each vehicle. Absolutely NO sharing stickers. Additionally NO subletting. If abused you will be evicted. ANY vehicle with no sticker or parked in the painted vertical lines WILL be towed at the owners expense. Jeff and Kristen once some calls and starts cussing or threatening then tell the pickup is normal business hours. It's not safe over there at those hours of the morning. We have very little guest parking so 2 hour limit and overnight guests have to get a pass for reserved parking or park off site if it’s after hours or no soots are available

In one of the unlocked gun trucks…he had a medical issues issue so I hope that wasn’t the norm for him. I kinda wish we had updates on some of these ones like the one with the Brother who drove in from states away to collect the truck and trailer.
Our apartment complex has an armed security guard at night,(beautiful apts, but they are located in a DMZ). The guard checks all the cars for stickers that are tied to the license plate, numbered parking spot and make and model. No match; the guard calls it in. No problem for the tow truck company. No one has been towed in 4 years!! I have been here 8 years.
How we do some of our properties, is have the license plate tied to the parking pass in TowBook, and we just walk around running plates and tow those that aren’t in the system.
I think the problem with this complex is that the manager doesn't want to deal with it. She's not onsite, and I would guess it's owned by an out of state or even out of the country owner. Obviously there are plenty of better solutions but management would prefer to just let Jeff & Kristen walk around, look for stickers, and tow the ones without stickers. This seems like a poorly run apartment complex.
One of my friends sees tow trucks in the parking lot of his apt at 2am, which is great for him since that’s when he gets home. He just waits and gets a great spot. His sticker is displayed so he doesn’t have a problem!
Yeah, but it's a lucrative hassle, which is why they continue to do it. If the apartment manager doesn't want to deal with the fact that she has too many people living in one unit, then Jeff & Kristen can continued to get paid.

If that's the case, the simple "no sticker no park" rule espoused would mean you can't park your new car at your apartment for weeks while you wait for them to finally issue you one. I would drop the contract if a standard location for a sticker is not implemented and enforced. It is not worth your safety. It’s not worth calls all night. I lived in a few apartments in my 20’s and they had strict rules about parking stickers and locations for visitors. We never had these issues.
Even if I lived in a neighborhood of multi-million dollar homes and there was no crime in the area I'd still lock my doors and/or park in the garage. Thieves are getting smart and stealing a Kia/Hyundai in the hood since they're easy to steal and then driving out to the rich neighborhoods and pulling door handles and they usually end up getting a nice car iwth the keys in it but usually it's people leaving wallets, electronics and guns in their unlocked cars and then acting shocked that someone stole from their unlocked car.
That guy's comment on everything: that don't make no sense. He can't understand why his car would be towed when he has no sticker, even though he's lived there a year and has another car with a sticker. He leaves valuable items, cash, passport, ID, car keys in an unlocked car because he just went upstairs for a minute. But I'm pretty sure it took Jeff more than a minute to tow it and the guy didn't notice. It must be hard to survive when nothing makes sense to you.
At some point the tenants can argue that the landlord isn’t providing the parking that they pay for. They need to limit the number of cars per apartment. And the guests are just screwed.
That seems like how it’s supposed to be the problem again being people have more cars than they’re supposed to start swapping stickers or making fake stickers or whatever they do. Soon enough though land lord is going to say you get 1 car and all the other park offsite

most places has a rule. one spot per bedroom, but think about it a young couple one bedroom. how many cars? woops a hole in the system, and who would ever think someone having guests. woops second hole.
I worked at a place that was so strict with parking that when we were issued parking stickers, we had to fill out a form that had the make, model, and VIN # and the sticker # registered to the vehicle and they would only accept it if it was physically attached to the lower right corner of the windshield.
I thought that was commonplace. Even my parents’ apartment with all their weird parking requires the same thing. I understand the guy being angry though if his story is legit though.

Re cars with blacked out windows or obfuscated parking stickers, a tow would be the fault of the driver of the car. Every place I have been that requires a pass has flatly stated it must be displayed and clearly visible in an approved area or subject to tow.
I was in a tow truck driver many many years ago what I think you’re doing is great everything I see on your channel is above board and within the law you’ve got really thick skin up and nobody takes them to task. Keep up the good work love your channel.
The trash situation is a hurdle to overcome for sure, but wait til an _ambulance_ or _fire truck_ needs in and can’t get there because of the parking situation!

Every apartment I've lived in has had numbered spaces that match the apartment or street parking on public streets. Example from one place: Apartment 23 and there are two spots with a 23 painted on them. There where a few - I'm talking 5 or 6 for 30 apartments - unmarked ones for guests that were checked; nobody was allowed to use them more than 3 days in a row or 7 days in a month. That's how every complex should be. Assigned spots. If someone wants to work out with someone else because they have 1 car and the other apartment has guests that was all between neighbors and a note on the dash so the nosey ones wouldn’t get people towed for being in the wrong spot.
I was a bill collector for 21yrs and the BS these people spew at you I would have told them to go to hell. You are so nice. Love watching your channel.

From my experience living in apartment buildings, each apartment is assigned one numbered parking space, with a parking sticker attached to the windshield of the vehicle. If the occupants of the apartment had more than one vehicle, then the extra vehicles had to find parking on the street - period!
Reminds me of when my hubby and I rented a condo/apartment. It included one indoor parking spot, so one of our vehicles had to be parked outside. One day, I noticed a note on the "bulletin board stating, "parking spot for rent". I called the number immediately and snagged that spot (and removed the note). That was a miracle and other condo occupants were trying to figure out how I managed to get it. 😂
I find it interesting there is a parking spot next to a fire hydrant. You'd think that would be an open area...ya know..... in case of a fire.... so the fire trucks can connect to the hydrant.

I lived in an apartment complex in NC and was told everyone had two parking spaces but there was not two spaces per apartment. That may be the circumstance here also! Very poor management!
How hard would it be to assign each apartment 1 parking spot that is numbered? Throw some paint down. Then when someone is in their spot, they can call and have them towed. It would seriously decrease the amount of chaos in that lot.

"It's in front of my unit!" Well, I live in the corner unit and the numbers match, so now you get to pay. Notes didn't work. A tow truck did. He didn't park there again and yes, I checked for screws under my tires for a bit.
I live in a three bedroom condominium and we are allowed 2 vehicles per unit in front of each unit anymore than that has to be parked in the overflow lot.

Thanks for your channel, I ran my own shop and towing service for 40 years and know what your up against. On July 4 I ran a roll back for my buddy and was yanking illegal parking at my buddies farm across from a state park. The farmer called me at 9 am cause the state park was full & he had 12 cars parked in front of his barn. Any way I used my phone to do a video of each car I towed ,thanks to you & your wife. I have been retired for 10 years and never would have thought of that. So a big thank you for a tow guy in Connecticut
Should have vehicles registered to the apartment and then have a sticker for that vehicle. If you lose the sticker make it a $500 charge for a replacement

The parking pass design should have registration printed on it and tamperproof, stuck on by Site Manager. No sharing possible! Management should further have registration registered to each apartment as backup. Management aren’t managing smart.

I'd take it a step further. Number the spot and the pass. You have to park in your space or get towed.

We have very little guest parking so 2 hour limit and overnight guests have to get a pass for reserved parking or park off site if it’s after hours or no soots are available

that is the policy. but builders think no one else even shows up, so they dont want to cover the expense of more parking places, simple. greed.

So many people leave their valuables in the car! Especially unlocked! Remember the video with the guy who left a loaded gun in his unlocked truck?
In one of the unlocked gun trucks…he had a medical issues issue so I hope that wasn’t the norm for him. I kinda wish we had updates on some of these ones like the one with the Brother who drove in from states away to collect the truck and trailer.

Our apartment complex has an armed security guard at night,(beautiful apts, but they are located in a DMZ). The guard checks all the cars for stickers that are tied to the license plate, numbered parking spot and make and model. No match; the guard calls it in. No problem for the tow truck company. No one has been towed in 4 years!! I have been here 8 years.
I am just glad he actually apologized. A sincere apology goes a long way.
How we do some of our properties, is have the license plate tied to the parking pass in TowBook, and we just walk around running plates and tow those that aren’t in the system.

I think the problem with this complex is that the manager doesn't want to deal with it. She's not onsite, and I would guess it's owned by an out of state or even out of the country owner. Obviously there are plenty of better solutions but management would prefer to just let Jeff & Kristen walk around, look for stickers, and tow the ones without stickers. This seems like a poorly run apartment complex.
Looks to me like management needs to get their act together.. A resident should be able to get a sticker that day.
One of my friends sees tow trucks in the parking lot of his apt at 2am, which is great for him since that’s when he gets home. He just waits and gets a great spot. His sticker is displayed so he doesn’t have a problem!

If that's the case, the simple "no sticker no park" rule espoused would mean you can't park your new car at your apartment for weeks while you wait for them to finally issue you one. That's terrible tenant service.

I would drop the contract if a standard location for a sticker is not implemented and enforced. It is not worth your safety. It’s not worth calls all night. I lived in a few apartments in my 20’s and they had strict rules about parking stickers and locations for visitors. We never had these issues.
What's crazy, is someone leaving money, passports and keys in an unlocked car in an apartment complex.

Even if I lived in a neighborhood of multi-million dollar homes and there was no crime in the area I'd still lock my doors and/or park in the garage. Thieves are getting smart and stealing a Kia/Hyundai in the hood since they're easy to steal and then driving out to the rich neighborhoods and pulling door handles and they usually end up getting a nice car iwth the keys in it but usually it's people leaving wallets, electronics and guns in their unlocked cars and then acting shocked that someone stole from their unlocked car.
That guy's comment on everything: that don't make no sense. He can't understand why his car would be towed when he has no sticker, even though he's lived there a year and has another car with a sticker. He leaves valuable items, cash, passport, ID, car keys in an unlocked car because he just went upstairs for a minute. But I'm pretty sure it took Jeff more than a minute to tow it and the guy didn't notice. It must be hard to survive when nothing makes sense to you.

That apartment complex needs to number the spots, and assign the spaces. problem solved.
At some point the tenants can argue that the landlord isn’t providing the parking that they pay for. They need to limit the number of cars per apartment. And the guests are just screwed.
That seems like how it’s supposed to be the problem again being people have more cars than they’re supposed to start swapping stickers or making fake stickers or whatever they do. Soon enough though land lord is going to say you get 1 car and all the other park offsite

most places has a rule. one spot per bedroom, but think about it a young couple one bedroom. how many cars? woops a hole in the system, and who would ever think someone having guests. woops second hole.

I worked at a place that was so strict with parking that when we were issued parking stickers, we had to fill out a form that had the make, model, and VIN # and the sticker # registered to the vehicle and they would only accept it if it was physically attached to the lower right corner of the windshield.
I thought that was commonplace. Even my parents’ apartment with all their weird parking requires the same thing. I understand the guy being angry though if his story is legit though.

Re cars with blacked out windows or obfuscated parking stickers, a tow would be the fault of the driver of the car. Every place I have been that requires a pass has flatly stated it must be displayed and clearly visible in an approved area or subject to tow.

there is probably more people living in those apartments than they have records on. You seen 10 people walk out when they were towing like 1 car.
They should give who ever rent the apartment they should get 2 parking spaces and two parking stickers and that all
Every apartment I've lived in has had numbered spaces that match the apartment or street parking on public streets. Example from one place: Apartment 23 and there are two spots with a 23 painted on them. There where a few - I'm talking 5 or 6 for 30 apartments - unmarked ones for guests that were checked; nobody was allowed to use them more than 3 days in a row or 7 days in a month.
That's how every complex should be. Assigned spots. If someone wants to work out with someone else because they have 1 car and the other apartment has guests that was all between neighbors and a note on the dash so the nosey ones wouldn’t get people towed for being in the wrong spot.

Jeff and Kristen, your level of patience is very commendable! He can't assume that just because they have a two-bedroom apartment means they will get two parking spaces. From my experience living in apartment buildings, each apartment is assigned one numbered parking space, with a parking sticker attached to the windshield of the vehicle. If the occupants of the apartment had more than one vehicle, then the extra vehicles had to find parking on the street - period!
Reminds me of when my hubby and I rented a condo/apartment. It included one indoor parking spot, so one of our vehicles had to be parked outside. One day, I noticed a note on the "bulletin board stating, "parking spot for rent". I called the number immediately and snagged that spot (and removed the note). That was a miracle and other condo occupants were trying to figure out how I managed to get it. 😂
I find it interesting there is a parking spot next to a fire hydrant. You'd think that would be an open area...ya know..... in case of a fire.... so the fire trucks can connect to the hydrant.

I lived in an apartment complex in NC and was told everyone had two parking spaces but there was not two spaces per apartment. That may be the circumstance here also! Very poor management!
How hard would it be to assign each apartment 1 parking spot that is numbered? Throw some paint down. Then when someone is in their spot, they can call and have them towed. It would seriously decrease the amount of chaos in that lot.
Works most of the time but when there are no more parking spots they will park in your reserved spot. Guaranteed.
@@chuckh4077 Oh I am aware, but tow them once and meet the tow truck out there while they're losing their chit, they learn. We had 1 stall, 2 vehicles, and someone always parked there. "It's in front of my unit!" Well, I live in the corner unit and the numbers match, so now you get to pay. Notes didn't work. A tow truck did. He didn't park there again and yes, I checked for screws under my tires for a bit.
I live in a three bedroom condominium and we are allowed 2 vehicles per unit in front of each unit anymore than that has to be parked in the overflow lot.

Thanks for your channel, I ran my own shop and towing service for 40 years and know what your up against. On July 4 I ran a roll back for my buddy and was yanking illegal parking at my buddies farm across from a state park. The farmer called me at 9 am cause the state park was full & he had 12 cars parked in front of his barn. Any way I used my phone to do a video of each car I towed ,thanks to you & your wife. I have been retired for 10 years and never would have thought of that. So a big thank you for a tow guy in Connecticut
Should have vehicles registered to the apartment and then have a sticker for that vehicle. If you lose the sticker make it a $500 charge for a replacement

If Jeff is the tow guy, he could tell the guy to put a half eaten Snickers bar on the dash. It’s all about communication.
That camera is not just for videoing for us it's protection for yourself in case someone gets violent tords you and your wife or dues damage to your property/ truck and towing items

We haven't, mostly because we always recommend a local taxi service called Benz Taxi. Super reliable and professional, plus they know where our lot is.

You tow drivers need to get some regulation passed in that area that for every "F" you an additional surcharge will be added to the total.

The parking pass design should have registration printed on it and tamperproof, stuck on by Site Manager. No sharing possible! Management should further have registration registered to each apartment as backup. Management aren’t managing smart.

You guys are a decent, respectable towing service. We have some horrible ones here in California. They are ruthless and not so honest. You may have seen in the news in San Francisco where this tow truck was trying to hook up the people that were behind him at a stoplight. It's company's like this that makes it difficult for the honest ones like you guys.

Holy cow I went and looked it up "Specialty Towing" there is a video online showing them trying to nab their car. 🤯 They aren't going to be allowed any city contracts ect...and are being investigated. That guy driving that truck should be in jail. He terrorized that couple. I love EA . These folks are the best ✌️
