Old tractors rule! My main work mule is a 1961 35 Massey Ferguson. I have found it to be the best all around old tractor to have. It has a good 3 point lift system, live PTO, live hydraulics, and I was able to add a remote hook up to it. It’s just new enough to have these good upgrades, but still old enough to reap the benefits that you discussed of owning an old tractor, low cost, easy to work on, zero computer controlled garbage. Mine is the 4cyl continental gas, I’d love to have one that had the 3cyl Perkins diesel. The gas is no slouch and I am impressed by the power that it has, it’ll run my large disc chipper and it’s at the very bottom of the required horsepower range, but a diesel would be easier on fuel and they had a little more power. We have always been partial to the old letter series Case units, they don’t get as much love as the other red and green brands do but they still attract a lot of attention on the tractor ride we have been going to because they are something different.
Hey thanks for watching! Those old Massey Fergusons are some good tractors. Spent many hours on a 135 diesel mowing a few years back. Those old letter series Case are some tough machines, I had a DC3 and an SC, you’re right they don’t get near as much love as some of the others. They didn’t seem very common around here, most everyone here has always ran Deere, but that old SC sure drew a lot of attention at our local show the couple times I took it over there, mainly because it was the only one there
I agree 100% with you
