It will be great to hear some more sound sample of the Chameleon and also more info on 2 leg vs. 4 leg to determine which is better to purchase. I do have a question... If I do get the 4 legged system, should I want to convert it to the 2 leg system at a later date, can I do so?
At the moment there is no way to convert the 4 legged to a 2 legged though we agree this would be great. There are several difficulties with making that happen, the main one being the recess that's made to fit the pad on the back holes. The issues may be surmountable at some point in the future, but it doesn't change the fact playing the two legged will require an additional commitment in time, discipline and practice, and once you have that, then you have it - there will be no need for back keys again.
Love it. I think the two thumb keys are a great solution--much better than the redundant double Fnat keys on wooden flutes. I was surprised to see it finally released--so many years without an update!--but I'm really excited. Now to round up the cash...
A phenomenal new development, congratulations Misha! All the years of work and crafting have produced this beautiful, elegant instrument. ~I will try to be patient waiting for my Chameleon to arrive in the post...thanks!
A thing of beauty, and it sounds wonderful. Thanks a big bunch, Misha - I had resolved not to buy any more instruments. Now I'm going to have to start saving.
Pity about the price!! A thousand Pounds for a whistle. That seems like a hell of a lot extra for not much more instrument.
