- This time, i want to share when Yorozuya casts sharing abt their audition, also Sugibro and Dai-san's thought abt Gintoki. Maybe some of you are wondering how they did their audition for Gintama, so here you go!:))))

sugita really made his luckiest decision when he decided to try auditioning for gintoki *and* choosing to use the lines that nobody else did. personally, i think it's his destiny to play the character- which in turn made him explosively popular and cemented him as one of the industry's best player and personality. before gintama, i've heard/seen his acts in honey & clover and haruhi, so i know that he's a pretty good seiyuu even before he took gin-san's mantle
i've never watched any anime featuring sakaguchi before gintama so it really is an experience in itself, getting accustomed to his voice range as well as the evolution in how he carried shinpachi as a character from episode 1. now, i'm fully convinced that he 's probably among the best, if not the best seiyuu in the industry to play a tsukkomi-chara. his tsukkomi lines are among the ones i remembered the most in gintama
during the 2000s era, kugimin is very, very popular as *the* tsundere-chara queen. i've seen a plethora of characters she played that time- and i must say i have quite mixed feelings about them since on one hand, they're cute but on the other hand, the whole tsundere schtick gets old pretty fast. so seeing her play kagura, a complete 180 from her other cutesy characters is really a breath of fresh air. really loves how she brings life to the character, giving out the right amount of cheekiness and adorable-ness as expected from a bratty-yet-kind girl who is the heart of the yorozuya team

shinpachi's va is literally being the straight man character irl at the audition even before playing one

sugita is perfect for gins role honestly
its hard to play a lazy char in such a cool way
I like Sugita-san because he has a lot of line deliveries that are unimaginable, like in the conveyor belt scene in hard boiled episode I laughed so hard with the "JIJI!!"

Sugita's manager really cracked me up ..it's like the description for gintoki is accurate yet its not credible
Yk even imagining that someone else doing Gintoki's voice acting is quite unimaginable. Destiny, fate whatever we call it , I'm happy that Sugita san was chosen.. (The Gyah Gyah, part is so iconic, no doubt) Also Sakaguchi & Kugimiya san being auditioned on the same day must be another call to set up The Yorozuya (～￣▽￣)～
With how much they break the 4th wall, this feels like a actual conversation from the show

I mean at the time Gintama is still doesn't have serious arc so I don't blame them to see Gintoki that way compare to contemporary like Bleach and Naruto and believe it or not Sorachi wrote Benizakura arc as a respond to the anime low rating as well
imagine if sugita didnt take that audition
man i cant picture other seiyuu voicing gintoki tho and pulled it off as good as sugita
