This movie is the ultimate disturbing flick. That part that transitions from the home invasion movie to seeing them rewatching it is BONE CHILLING to me.
Got my copy yesterday. I loved the film, hadn't seen it before and I've just started going through the extra features. As usual, the set, posters, booklets etc are all amazing. I did see however that Arrow made a post on their Instagram about some issues with the release. Didn't notice anything myself but may be worth investigating
Yeah it's a great boxset and film! Yeah I've seen the post. The major issue is with the regular blu ray, but there is a slight issue on the 4K where one frame repeats. I didn't notice it myself, but Arrow will most likely do a disc replacement service 👍
I’m loving the art work on this one. Must give this a check out as I’ve never seen this movie. Will check the trailer out after this video. Great job and really well explained too.😀👍
@@cinemaaxeman Being such a fan of Phenomena (not the cruddy 83 minute cut), I own 2 copies of the Arrow 4K -the "Arte Original Phenomena" and "Creepers Artwork variants", and also the Synapse release. I plan to open a copy for a Special Screening next week. The ones I leave in shrink will be simply for display in my collection.
I'll wish you luck with the viewing experience on that film. I can handle most extreme films to some degree, but Portrait still makes me uneasy. I've seen my fair share of grotesque films over the decades, but some films really do push it too far. Just like when I went to see The notorious Man Bites Dog in London back in 1992. Maybe I am getting old, but I do find that people have become very decenatised to gore and sexual violence. I suppose it started in the 1970's, and excellerated throughout the 1980's and 1990's. Pulp Fiction pushed violence to a new limit in 1994. Irreversible I saw on VHS rental when Metro Tartan released it in the UK, though I was offered a ticket to go and see it whilst I lived in London, but didn't, due to certain scenes in the film that pushed the audience further down the road to accepting rape. Portrait was a film I saw on Electric Pictures VHS rental, and to be honest, I felt uncomfortable with it ever since. That's just my feeling on the film, but it's a tough watch, and unsettling.
I totally get that mate. I enjoyed the movie, but I get that it's not for everyone. For me I appreciated it for being quite honest and realistic in its violence and its portrayal of serial killers. You could argue its a film and it shouldn't be about the realism, but I respected it for that. Definitely a chilling watch though 👍
On picture quality: it's grey and gritty as a mf, plus some grain. But there are some scenes when they are out in the park and in the evening sun that are very beautiful in 4k hdr.
@@cinemaaxeman I love your channel man. Keep up the vids. Really itching to get back over to Ireland soon. Ik you're from the UK but it brings me some joyful memories of the ancestral island.
Heard rumors of a replacement disc...? Silence of the Lambs to me is a psychological thriller, which most horror fans put in the horror genre. I don't. Henry I do place in the horror genre because it goes along with the murderer for the whole movie, unlike Lambs which follows the search for the killer.
I forgot to give my take on the relationship between Henry and Otis. I don't think Otis, nor anyone else, for that matter, knew that Henry was a serial killer. If killing is what got him in prison where they met, I think the sentence would have been longer for him. So, I'm pretty sure Henry was the only person who knew. The real Henry didn't actually kill that many people. He lied to get infamous.
@@cinemaaxeman You're welcome. This replacement thing is getting strange. I have Hills Have Eyes, American Werewolf in London and Robocop. What are the odds that those have errors as well?
@@cinemaaxeman on both discs. They really need to find out what is going on same issues with donnie darko 4k. Making me question if i should cancel my pre orders with them
@@chrisburns7979 I've just glad Arrow actually address the issues that get reported and sort them out 👍 But yeah these issues have been too common recently, need to stop them from happening!

Yeah very disturbing scene indeed!
Great film! I received my limited edition box set today. It's a must have for Henry portrait of a serial killer fans.
Absolutely!
Thanks for watching Jason!
That edition is stacked!
Couldn’t wait much longer for mine, so thank you for showcasing this ✌️
No problem! 👍
Arrow never misses
That’s a beautiful edition. Mines on its way. 👍🏻
Awesome! Hope you enjoy it 👍
Very good review, received my copy today and will watch over the weekend 👍🏻
Thanks Gary! Hope you enjoy your copy of it👍
Nice mate, I'm gonna have to get this one
Yeah definitely recommend it mate!
I would advise on the 4K, because I'm hearing stories the blu ray version has a fault.
@@cinemaaxeman that's good to know mate cheers

Great Release! What is the size of those arrow posters?
16 inch x 20 inch. If you're here in the UK you can easily get frames for Arrow posters from most shops like B&M, Wilko, IKEA etc
Thanks man I appreciate it!👍🏽
Nice look through the release Mike 🙂👍
Thanks Ash!
This looks fantastic. Gonna definitely pick this up from Arrow. I hope it does not sell out by then!
Yeah these sets do tend to sell out fast, especially the 4K ones. I wouldn't wait around too long! 👍
