- This week we're doing a quick look at how to create some amazing work on plexiglass, I go through the materials I used, my inspiration, and a few techniques.

Gorgeously amazing!
I finally did this technique, and a self portrait of myself. LOL I wish I could post this to share with you! I really liked how it came out. The downside was cutting the Plexiglas, which I will attempt at another time, and make it the size of an actual frame. After scoring with a heavyduty razor blade, I then used a heat knife that melted the Plexi. It still cracked unevenly on one side, but knowing this, I may have them professionally cut ahead of time. It was where I wasted the most time - and when you are on a creative-roll.... no sense in adding any frustration to the process.
I thoroughly enjoyed this, and plan on painting some Self Portraits of my family as gifts. Who knows...there's a big world out there....I may do this as a side business in my area *smile*. Thanks for your expertise.
Now...as another note, that came to me while I was typing this.... I'd like to do this with a back lighting display - and wondered about using a paint sprayer, to lay down the color evenly. Perhaps with Ink paints? This way it doesn't look so gloppy, as it did with acrylics??? Just a thought, I may test later.
How cool... Thanks for sharing... I think I can use something similar to this in my plexi brulage and it might be really cool...
Thanks for this as I’m doing some art work like this with Plexiglass glass ! Question: for the black outline do u have to use fabric paint or can I use acrylic
You can use acrylic paint also, just put it in a fine tip bottle.
This is fascinating, Kim... I'm wondering about just plain Glass? (don't expect an answer...but) I am going to try this anyway.I'm always up for an answer. Maybe even try Alcohol Ink as well. Thanks and Take Care. One of your videos isn't allowed in this country, why I wonder? Juliana
Nice, thanks for sharing.
I got a bunch of plexiglass off craig's list and want to use my acrylics on it. Do you sand it or anything, before painting on it? Do you find that the paint stays on ok?
Rosemary Clark No sanding. Paint straight onto the acrylic. Acrylic paints stay on perfectly.
please - next time - no music - can't hear what you are saying - nice work though !
