Only a few foreign news channels were able to fully document what happened, and China has still denied all of it. Now? Almost impossible for something like that to happen in broad day light again, not just foreign journalists on the front lines, but independent journalists who post local blogs and share videos. Nobody will be able to take China seriously if they ever refute footage that was taken by hundreds of people at the same time, rather than a dozen shaky cameras in an unlit square.

HK police are too kind. At this destructive level they could apply higher level of force and the government should at least officially declare state of emergency. This has gone too far. The situation is widespread and has severe impact on both property and life.

Yes it all started with the extradition bill that was almost immediately shut down by the government after a few weeks of riots. So why are they still doing this well why are people rioting in idia and America while deforestation is happening globally? Its because big government are the terrorists they stay on top through disaster capitalism causing problems then providing the solution. You should look into zachary k. Its clear now the protests were not about the extradition bill. The bill was officially withdrawn, yet the riots persist. Sure, there are four remaining demands (some of which are unreasonable), but will the protests actually stop if those four demands are met? Or will there be more new demands?

@paul w but most Hongkongers are chiness descent though. Some of their ancestors/grandparents/parents came from China. Also they have Chinese surnames, and they speak cantonese which originated from Guangdong. It's understandable why they claim they aren't Chinese though....
