Too many of these "survival" channels use overpriced, huge tarps that weigh a ton and aren't realistic to carry in a go-bag/rucksack. This is exactly what I was looking for...simple and practical survival skills utilizing a common 6'x8' Home Depot tarp. Awesome video, thank you!
Hello from Oklahoma! I'm a pretty good sized feller. I think I'll modify these ideas with a 10X12 tarp. I carry marbels to make the "catch" you are talking about also. Thanks for the video.! Good stuff!
Thank you for this lesson I have been looking for such a set up for some time I know it will take time to learn your system But thank you for sharing Kevin NZ
The most useful thing I did learn from this was that I'd rather use an 8' x 10' tarp. There's no way I could stay curled up under the less than 6' of floor (after the ends were tucked in to avoid rainwater) with my 5' 11" frame.
The first one I was thinking "no way. I'll never fit." But the second one was SUPER awesome. I'll be trying that soon. Made a note of it too. The third one would be PERFECT with a 6'×10' tarp. For me, my gear, and my Cat when we bug out. Cuddle my rifle while the cat has fire duty. Thanks Snake. Your videos are great.
The little A- frame, is very claustrophobic. I'm a little bit round, and it might be too tight, for now. But, they are good ideas. Thanks for showing us.
@@SurvivalTheory Yes, I really liked the second shelter configuration and I've never seen anything like it before. Do you have a serprent-related name for it? I'm going to try a variation of it next time I'm out with by 10x10. The first configuration is aptly called the "body bag" by Macpherson. Thank you Snake for all your efforts and your outstanding videos.
Really liked the video. Thanks for the tips. This was the first video of yours I have seen and I am subscribing. On another note have you been told your voice sounds a lot like the actor Michael Rooker's?

A piece of fuzzy cloth on your mic will stop that annoying wind noise. Lot of good tips, but I'll use my 10x10 nylon tarp.

Where did you find a light weight tarp for $7? I'd like to get a 10' x 10' but they're all super expensive.
