    Too many of these "survival" channels use overpriced, huge tarps that weigh a ton and aren't realistic to carry in a go-bag/rucksack. This is exactly what I was looking for...simple and practical survival skills utilizing a common 6'x8' Home Depot tarp. Awesome video, thank you!

    Hello from Oklahoma! I'm a pretty good sized feller. I think I'll modify these ideas with a 10X12 tarp. I carry marbels to make the "catch" you are talking about also.Thanks for the video.! Good stuff!

    Cheap and quick.... That's survival in troubled times. 10 minutes max? That may be all the time you have in a true emergency. Great video!

    The most useful thing I did learn from this was that I'd rather use an 8' x 10' tarp. There's no way I could stay curled up under the less than 6' of floor (after the ends were tucked in to avoid rainwater) with my 5' 11" frame.

    The first one I was thinking "no way. I'll never fit." But the second one was SUPER awesome. I'll be trying that soon. Made a note of it too. The third one would be PERFECT with a 6'×10' tarp. For me, my gear, and my Cat when we bug out. Cuddle my rifle while the cat has fire duty. Thanks Snake. Your videos are great.

      @@SurvivalTheory Yes, I really liked the second shelter configuration and I've never seen anything like it before. Do you have a serprent-related name for it? I'm going to try a variation of it next time I'm out with by 10x10. The first configuration is aptly called the "body bag" by Macpherson.     A piece of fuzzy cloth on your mic will stop that annoying wind noise. Lot of good tips, but I'll use my 10x10 nylon tarp.

    Most cheap woven tarps from Wal Mart are water resistant and will leak. They are NOT waterproof.
