Too many of these "survival" channels use overpriced, huge tarps that weigh a ton and aren't realistic to carry in a go-bag/rucksack. This is exactly what I was looking for...simple and practical survival skills utilizing a common 6'x8' Home Depot tarp. Awesome video, thank you!

The most useful thing I did learn from this was that I'd rather use an 8' x 10' tarp. There's no way I could stay curled up under the less than 6' of floor (after the ends were tucked in to avoid rainwater) with my 5' 11" frame.

The first one I was thinking "no way. I'll never fit." But the second one was SUPER awesome. I'll be trying that soon. Made a note of it too. The third one would be PERFECT with a 6'×10' tarp. I'm going to try a variation of it next time I'm out with by 10x10. The first configuration is aptly called the "body bag" by Macpherson.
