Man this made my aim way better. I was using stick click when Infinite first came out and it was making my aim so bad. Mapping it to one of my paddles made it a bit better later on, but changing it to left trigger just feels so good.

This has been helping me out a bit, just recently returned to halo infinite, I've been slightly improving, still very rusty with strafe, and BR aim, along with my position. Desync doesn't help either. But slowly, my strafe improves. I've recently going into big team battle to improve sniper aim, which is working. The only severe problem I have is cliffhanger, and chasm, just too little area, and are mostly wide open. Besides that infinite has been going smoothly, and these tips are assisting me. Wish me luck.

Text size, YES. I'm so tired of modern games thinking that because they can have such high resolutions that they should have tiny af HUDs. (And even worse, tiny af HUDs that are just teeming with too much unnecessary info)
Halo 1-2 had the best HUDs. And I love that in MCC you can crank up the size of the CE HUD to be larger and more easily noticeable.

I use the Xbox elite. And while there are 4 back paddles. My hands just don't cooperate with the top two. So I use the jump and crouch with the paddles. Exactly for the reason you mentioned. This carries over very well into other FPS too. The idea to map the spot and equipment to the thumbsticks makes so much sense. Def gonna change that over.

I do have a 8bitdo xbox controller, which does come with back paddles for A and B. (Currently used for Jump and Crouch, but can be tied to other buttons). I’m a bit confused like would the paddles matter if they are tied to the face or directional buttons?
I don’t think it matters no. As long as you can do the essentials without taking your thumbs off the sticks.
Can you maybe make a side video for a controller settings tutorial that doesn’t have back paddles? I can use the elite controller which only has 4, but it would be nice to see controller settings with a controller with no paddles

Can you share a text list of what your controller buttons / paddles are set to? I have a controller with 6 as well and want to try them out and just go down the line swapping them out.

@@DoddsMcFodds Ahh! Thank you for the clarification. I have been playing this game since Flighting but I can't find a good setup, mainly aiming I try toying with with subtle changes and I just can't seem to get it to work.
I use both standard Xbox controller and the Series one but I always get confused with the paddles. I tried to do the Esport player setups some put on but I just can't seem to adapt to it. I see the benefit for sure with faster switching weapons, equipment usage, aim while jumping but I just can't ever remember the layout no matter how long I play.
But definitely the biggest challenge is aiming. I try adjusting outlines and transparency but the reticles are just so small I end up overshooting and readjusting. Mainly after I take off the shields its like the aim assist turns off.
What are your suggestions for none modified controller? I do enjoy your zoom on left trigger and the ai scan on left thumb stick but I don't know how to map the rest so this works.
Sprint, crouch, shoot, jump. Those are all the buttons you need to evade while shooting. If you can map those buttons to without taking your thumbs off the sticks, you should be good.

This is what I was thinking... Or do you think it would be better to prioritize the movement over being able to call some one out on screen, and using equipment for a quick get away.

how do i make my controler have left bumper on jump and left trigger zoom? is it a button layout in game, or remapping buttons?
I think you have two options, either remap buttons on your controller (but not every controller can do this) or, you can customize binds in game.

How do you change zoom sensitivity for an individual weapon?
Will a scan at the right time allow you to see when someone picks up a weapon through the wall giving you information that he is there?

was the minimize close up animations option toggle always in the game because i stopped playing because my pc wasnt good enough to run it. and came back for the bandit just to see it and saw that. toggled it. and now i get perfect frames.

I absolutely love my battle beaver, do you have smart triggers? I haven't noticed a trigger deadzone difference with smart triggers.

Yep did the recommended high tension for fps. Was super uncomfortable at first but i see why they’re ideal. My other controller feels so loosey goosey haha

Not at the moment but i can tell you from experience that having ADS on left trigger and upping your zoom sens will help.
Any chance you would consider diving into audio settings more, including maybe your own equalizer settings? With S3, footsteps feel like they're almost non-existent at times even when they're just around the corner.
It’s crazy I’ve been trying to tweak these myself since S3 and i can confirm things have changed. I will get completely snuck up on without a single sound. You’re not alone.

I like my Battle Beaver as the back buttons are more like the face buttons (XYAB), so they are more responsive than paddles. I got six buttons but l learning to use my pinky fingers independently from my rings fingers is still a process. I have ping and scan on my lowest right and left buttons.
Yea it definitely takes some learning. I hated them at first but i got used to it.
trust me on this, use the top two with your middle finger and the bottom with your ring. You NEED those pinkies for controller stability. I tried having a finger on every button and it failed bad for me. I asked Shyway what he did and he said middle finger for the top two, saved my hands man.

@@seansims4518 What button positions do you have? I think High and Standard for the middle finger and Low for the ring finger. It is currently High, Low, and Extra Low.

I was watching some streamers play halo and saw them spawning in with the battle riffle does anyone know how?
#Slothnation !! Interesting! Several of your settings I need to try right away. Honestly the Battle Beaver is probably my next controller, just so expensive (currently using the razer Wolverine which I love but some of paddles are a bit annoying to get to). I play on console (Xbox series x), at the moment, and currently need to upgrade to a monitor as I do everything on my tv screen. I only get 60fps at the moment ( I’m sure I don’t even know what I am missing). At some point I need to upgrade to fiber as well.
So many of the settings you have im like uhhh what, where is that 😆.

Honestly I would love to get to Onyx but so far I feel like I live in Platinum. I haven’t gotten back into rank with all the new changes I’ve made, because I want the Onyx and Diamond rank battles to calm down first and I want the frame issue to resolve. There has been a lot of jittering frames for me since the S3 update
Hey Sloth I recently unmapped scoping in then tried using left trigger as a shift button. I found that you could at the expense of not having aim down sights use shift aiming and change settings completely. It is jarring at first because it feels like it's slo mo depending on what shift sensitivity you select. Anyway it wasn't flowing too well in octagon but it could work better if aim down sight is mapped and another button is assigned as primary button and use LT as a secondary shift.
i don't think i'm understanding the way you're using shift, are you saying on keyboard?
@@DoddsMcFodds It's on controller in Xbox settings basically you have shift settings similar to keyboard in its function. This also can be used for left and right stick making for more controlled aiming it can be already done in zoom sensitivity in halo's settings.
The difference and interesting thing is when you unmap aim make it a shift button with different shift settings on either stick you could essentially have two modes of playstyle in a gunfight. One being your normal settings then for example if you want to no scope from a distance the shift settings on the right stick may be tuned better to do so. I only use LT as an example any button could be used to apply this shift feature but I think turning off zoom gives a good example of the differences. Anyway it is difficult to explain even Xbox don't really promote or go into detail about Xbox controller settings I'm sure battle beaver and scuff have features similar but actually demonstate controller features.

I need to try and learn to use paddles. I'm part of a very small player base who uses southpaw. I personally use the claw technique because if I take my thumb of my right stick, I stop moving. Is there any "training" you recommend to adopt paddles or is it just dying over and over till you learn? lol
Dying is actually not at all what you want to do. You want rewarding. So go into training, put some music on, grab a beer and focus on a single paddle. Make sure you have infinite ammo and deathless enabled. Get those reps, but you gotta get them the right way.

Just a note on resolution scaling. You don't necessarily have to drop it all the way down. I dropped mine from 1440 to 1080 and I'm hitting 240fps, which is the max for my monitor. At 1440 I was maxing out at 200fps, but it was averaging in the 180's.

It’s funny you say that, i did. But it was still bad but when i did it again i sounded pretty weird like i was in a tunnel. Idk maybe i need to watch a more in depth video on it because i noticed it too. Thanks for the feedback.
@@DoddsMcFodds It can definitely be tricky sometimes. I do audio, so I threw the audio from this video into my DAW and played around with it some. Your sibilance is higher than default on most de-essers. It might be due to the mic you use or the room you're in, but it's an easy fix. Try these settings on your de-esser... Threshold: -9.5dB ; Max Reduction: 10dB ; Frequency: 8650Hz. If you can select which type of filter, choose bell instead of shelf... If it sounds like you're in a tunnel, it's probably because your threshold is too low and the de-esser is reducing the volume nonstop in that frequency range, instead of just reducing the volume when the S sounds are coming through. Hope this helps! Keep up the stellar content!

Hold to zoom huh? Interesting. But what happens when someone shoots you and de-scopes while you’re holding down the trigger? Does it automatically scope back in?
I use to use hold to zoom but I couldn't switch to 10x in social modes so I prefer tap. But It is kinda nice not having to cycle through a 10x or YY.
@@DoddsMcFodds It doesn’t automatically scope back in, so you do have to pull the trigger again (or paddle, in my case). But I find sniping so much easier when I don’t have to cycle through the 10x (which is basically useless outside of BTB) and I can get out of scope just by lifting my finger. I could see not everyone loving it, but it’s helped me anyways.
Ahhh gotcha. Yeah since most competitive players hardly ever use the second scope in at 10x halo players over the years have learned to utilize Y-Y or change their weapon twice to exit the scope and bring the sniper back out.
I use lucid setting and I’ve dramatically increased my gameplay and I just got back to do season 3 I left at season 2 when it started

An often overlooked step in this process is going into your game library and clicking "uninstall" and playing a game that's worth your time instead.

I am a controller player, but I use my keyboard to scope. I just set it on the ground, and use my toes to spam space to scope in my gunfights. Unconventional but it has been working really well for season 3.

Bumper jumper settings really don’t cut it. The deaconing is huge for me. I’m Deff gonna do some tuning. It’s hard for me to get my aiming down pace but I am playing on 60 frames only.
Yeah you have to be able to do more things than bump and jump these days. It’s so movement focused.
