Man, I kinda wish these types of music just played in real life instead of only online.
My dude, you gotta move to a bigger city :)
i agree
go to San Francisco and go to a jazz club you’ll be changed for your whole life trust me
A good life with strong emotions and feeling is not in any particular city, big or small, of course bigger the city is as more probability y have to find amusements, but the real fun and strong part of live is in ourselves, once you found it ( i am 21 and still trying to find my one ), you can go wherever and you ll be ready to enjoy the emotions you are dreaming about ( probably this is more a response to myself instead of anybody..)
Dat Sheep needs to be updated to the elevator tunes* lol

unpopular opinion: I love New York itself, not the idealized version. I love the smell of the subway. I love the sound of the train on the tracks. I love the musicians playing chaotic music in the mess of crowds. I love the eccentrics who hang out in Washington square park, the grimy thrift shops in the east village, the overpriced coffee, the gum trampled into the sidewalks, the tiny hidden parks. I go to school in the city, and pre-covid, I was in Manhattan almost every day. During the peak of the pandemic, I would go to a part of my neighborhood where I could see the skyline light up each night and pray for everyone in the city. I have so much faith in New York. It is the most resilient city in the world. I keep all of my neighbors in my prayers, we will get through this together! Until we can enjoy the freedom of walking around the city when its full of lights and carefree possibilities, may we all enjoy the music and the vibes.
W
ow, I'm from new york phoebe. I never heard anyone say they love the smell of the subway. When I was young I used to tell my own mother who was born and raised in new york herself that I loved the smell of the subway and she thought I was crazy. (and I am actually crazy) hahaha. I don't think I like new york as much as you, in fact, I can't wait to get out but I'm so glad you don't like the idealized version of it, that part comes crumbling down if you ever leave the bubble that your in and explores all the boroughs and speaks through people of all different types of walks of life. There are so many in this city
Praying Tanaka relates generally, especially about all the downtown comments and tiny hidden parks. And late night lights. BK bridge park, and Riverside park at night are a spiritual experience. Central Park bike path late at night, biking down the middle of empty avenues during Covid (EMPTY MANHATTAN AVENUES), Rockaway beach, Coney Island. Just romanticizing all of Brooklyn. The aesthetic coffee shops, the old subways (with warm lighting the blue seat ones hurt my eyes ngl), the delis and coffee carts, the musicians, the crackheads, the different kinds of people. One can choose to not focus on the negative and appreciate the positive.
I prefer Boston, but I'd love to go to New York someday.
You may be waiting a while... the ruling class wants to keep us under lockdown until they figure out how to depopulate a few billion of us, now that they have robot workers on the horizon and don't need as much of a "working class"
I love this, but I was also genuinely amused when I got to the "most resilient city in the world" part :D
Like... Hello from Rome, Luxor (ancient Thebes), Candia and Stalingrad, just to name a few... :D :D :D

I haven't been to New York but I live in London so I sort of know what you're talking about. We imagine cities like these as classy or cool or whatever but living in them is a whole other reality, lots of crime, pollution, everything pricey and in general just a stressful life.
usually when i reminisce on how much i miss new york i get sad, but this playlist j makes me so happy i'm young and have the awesome opportunity to be in control of my own life and go back to nyc permanently someday soon :))
The best place on earth is where you have loved ones, and where you feel at home. It does not necessarily have to be NYC, there are thousands of cities with great vibes. I've been to NYC a couple of times, and I definitely don't want to live there. I like European cities much better, for instance, Amsterdam. Now I live in Kyiv, and I like it a lot.

If you’re a New Yorker then why in the world would you go to Times Square
??? The 6 train doesn’t even take you to Times Square. The closest it will take you is Grand Central
And land in the hood
I like the sentence but the 6 train doesn’t go to Times Square. (I think the closest station is Grand Central. Please if that’s wrong correct.)
Your eyes open. The sweet smell of crisp autumn meets your nose. The sun peeks out from beneath the horizon, and it seems to be early, but you don't feel tired in the slightest. Your window is open, curtains swaying with the cool breeze. You slide off of your bed and sink your toes into your slippers. The faint sounds of birds chirping and cars passing, the wind rustling through the trees meet your ears. You wrap a large blanket around your shoulders, allowing the warmth to envelop you, and sit on your balcony. Slowly, you sip at your coffee, leaving the perfect bittersweet taste in your mouth, watching people passing by, everyone tucked into their own world. A smile tugs at your lips. You feel at one with yourself, peaceful, and your thoughts drift you away into a sweet paradise.

Music to mellow out to, even after a good workday. Thanks to everyone who put this together, including the artists
Listening to this makes me feel like an NY Noir detective having a cup of joe in a dinner and the waitress Paula real nice lady asks me " another rough night hun?"
And ill say with a coy smile "Isn't it always in this city"
That's exactly how I feel.
you watch to many movies mate.
@@jwvanhaarlem6400 you're a bit of a lmao guy right?
@@iparisienne4941 hahaha yes i'am i like to have and make fun with people. For what its worth you're spot on with the detective cup of coffee feeling.
I was sitting in a booth, the night light casting its shadow across the hard checkerboard tile. It wasn't just any night, it was the kinda night that would make anyone shiver. And the rain...why was it always raining. I finally made a breakthrough on an old relic...this relic wasn't just any case, It was the big one.
*Jazz music intensifies*
I have this on constant loop and rotation throughout my workday. Evokes relaxation and good vibes all around.
This summer I’m coming home to my family’s penthouse in bklyn and playing this out on our porch at night! I miss evenings on that rooftop!
Still listening to this...
This album is idyllic to precovid NYC. Takes me back to my travels of the city when I❤NY was everything. 😎✌
