Marty's improvisations are better than most guitar player's written stuff..marty is a titan of guitar..there is no one like him..he can play with emotion to give u the chills and can shred to melt ur face off...he is my favorite guitar player
You say it in a way as if Kirk or Slash were better than him because they're trash compared to Marty, He is better than both of them combined in every single way possible not by opinion either, It's a fact.

There is a difference between improvising off camera several times to come up with your final pieced together version of a rendition and improvising something completely fresh for the 1st time live on camera (which he most certainly didn't do here) Friedman is my favorite guitarist though.

He just follows the chord progression. And I love Hendrix but later down the line it was said that Hendrix did know music theory. Regardless you can't compare to the original but this comes close.
Hey!... I used to have this video back in the day. I still remember when Marty and Mitch are walking down the street at the end of the video and some guy turns around towards the camera and waves, and Marty says, "We got fans everywhere".

SRV did Little Wing the best and was IMO the best blues guitarist ever, but unless you find a vid of him acing Peace Sells...Who Buying, maybe you should just appreciate Marty for being awesome and down to earth.
Marty is phenomenal player. His unique note choices and scale choices are what make him a awesome guitarist. His sense of melody is what makes him so unique. He doesn't play to sound "cool".
