The problem is that everyone takes everything as a personal attack. The point is that females rights and trans right conflict, there can't be real equality because that would mean to disregard issues that are exclusively related to biological women or disregard issues that are exclusively linked to transsexual and their journey.

@@tamashiikyomei4046 So, if we talk about transwomen, they are competing against women in sports. Even if I believe we should be inclusive, there are reasons why sports are sex segregated, it's because biologically, men and women are different. Men are stronger, and faster. We are not okay to make a man fight against a woman because the fight is unbalanced, because biologically men are stronger, especially if they train everyday. Transitioning doesn't change your biology, and if you have always trained your advantage remains. Their right to be included and not being discriminated is in contrast with the right of women to have a fair competition against other women.

Oh my god, I (female) literally looked into transitioning as a teenager (now 22). Gender dysphoria was a term that made sense in my discomfort toward my body so I defined it as such. My family was incredibly un-supportive so it didnt go past my clothing/hair choices. And now in retrospect I know that my discomfort was a result of sexual abuse.
Trans activists dont want me to exist, nor any similar experience to be valid. I understand why my experience may add barriers to transitioning and that is upsetting and counter-productive.
But I agree that it is misogynistic to brush experiences like mine under the carpet, this is affecting the most vulnerable groups of young women and I'm sorry but that DOES matter.

I see it as abuse for parents/teachers to promote that any form of behaviour being gender non conforming makes children "trans", as that's putting a gender binary on behaviour that didn't need to exist and stigmatising childrens natural curiosity.

As someone who has followed Blaire for a long time, knowledge of calvin and recently started watching Arielle's video's after discovering her on twitter the overview i get of everyone is that Blaire and Arielle spend quite a long time researching topics before making videos to try and analyze both sides viewpoints. Sure, sometimes they get things wrong but we are all humans and make mistakes now and again.
Calvin on the other hand while being central and a good person seems to jump to the first conclusion a lot of the time and with the example of this book doesn't always do the appropriate research on topics he covers and let's his emotions lead his narrative too much.
I don't think any of the above are bad people, calvin just seems less mature than the other two and implements less critical thinking before posting his videos which often leads him to more pessimistic conclusions.

Doctors were so ready to help me transition right away instead of getting down to the root of my problems, which was being a sexual assault survivor. I only figured out I have PTSD because I did my own research and told my doctor.

@Leo Gabriel it was the same for me as a trans woman. In my country (the Netherlands) you need a diagnosis of gender dysporia before you are even allowed to medically transition and even after the diagnosis they want to make sure you are in a 'safe' position to transition medically (mostly means being out to family and friends and having presented as the preferred gender for a couple of months). It took me 2.5 years to be allowed to start to medically transition. Doctors were very critical and wary and wanted to know every detail of my past. Even when you are allowed to start medically transitioning the waiting lists are very long and some can take up to longer than a year. Over here it is definitely not something you can just do right away if you feel like it. From what I have heard it is the same in most Western European countries.

You need to go to therapy a certain time and you need to live your life with your preferred pronouns and gender for a certain time publicly so you have the chance to discover yourself and your life. Then, if you pass (in life) you get the diagnosis from your psychotherapist so you can start hrt and operations. Normally your therapy is advised to take time for 18month before you can start hormones and six month on HRT before you can start operations.

It may have been overly easy for you but that's not even mentioning you having to do your own discernmnent for yourself. Would I be okay being called this? Why do i feel like this is right? I'm a neuro & was always a scientist & athlete who, if I'd grown up as a teen in 2020, I prob would've thought I should transition to a man. Her big point is exactly what Arielle said - that girls who are not suffering from gender dysphoria, but the normal struggles girls go through while developing into women, are increasingly being "pushed" by the culture, therapists, teachers, etc., into transitioning. And the numbers are even higher in Autistic girls and women, who ALREADY don't fit into the world.
Speaking as a now-adult Autistic woman, I can pretty safely say that if how things are today was how things were in my teens and early 20s, there is a high likelihood I would have been caught up in this phenomenon.
I think all of us just really want there to be more safeguards, and to be sure there are no other underlying causes besides actual gender dysphoria before ANYONE starts transitioning.

At that age and stage in the human life cycle that often means viewing very nuanced issues through a very black and white lens. Even though kids at that age believe themselves very enlightened they tend to back their own views by demonizing opposing views. That’s why you’re a transphobe, I’m a transphobe, everybody’s a transphobe.
It can be hard to deal with when one has traversed so many more stages along the lifecycle. I’m dealing with it with my ftm trans son. So passionate now with all of their young like minded friends but people and groups grow and fall a part and eventually grow up and go their separate ways. It’s not as easy to make friends as one gets older or moves to a new city or country and I imagine that is much harder when one has made physical transitions.

Unfortunately, what you're seeing isn't really anything new, and which I have been seeing brewing for at least ten years, if not longer (yes, I am old ... don't remind me ...) ...
I could go into a long essay, but, at the most basic level, is the whole proposition that "If I say I'm trans, then I'm trans. I do _not_ need a Dr to validate my identity!!!" is true. Except, self-id-ing, as Rose of Dawn (a fellow Brit of mine) oh so neatly described, whilst made with the best of intentions, is a road to hell, as it leaves everything wide open to misuse, and abuse, as personified by " the titanic troon, JY" ...
And yes, whilst there is a good proportion of trans individuals whom do stick by the need for medical diagnosis, as their own dysphoria did require medical treatment, especially in the form of HRT, and in the case of many transmen, either top surgery and/or a full hysterectomy, there is a turf war (yes, I know ...) between them, and the rest of the trans community, whom are upset that gender dysphoria still remains in the DSM. Unfortunately, you were 'collateral damage' in that war, and, in some ways, had nothing to do with you, as a person. Rather, as you stated that you're a lesbian (a perfectly reasonable thing to do ...), those whom are on the pro self-identifing side of the debate, automatically assumed, even without talking to you, that you must be one of _those_ lesbians that hate transwomen, and don't want any transwomen in the same bathroom/changing room as you ...
That is what is tearing the whole GRSM* community apart, and it will only get worse, as the far/hard-left take over progressive politics even more futher than they have already. Cold comfort I know, but, as Centre-Left leaning myself, I'm almost a poltical orphan, has the sensible part of the left is seeing their own backyard utterly trashed by a herd of mammoths ... no wonder many have completely shifted to the right ...
What's even sadder is that they even managed to shut down space for reasonable debate. My transmale fiancé, before he started taking the mini-Pill, then Testosterone, did indeed have periods. So when J. K. Rowling made her (in)famous tweet about "there used to be a term to call people whom menstruate", that put in the odd postion of understanding what she meant, but acknowledging she (seemingly) thought that sex and gender are synonymous. However, that doesn't, and won't, ever justify the hate thrown her way, and neither does this crap justify the hate thrown in yours, too. I feel like I ought to apologize, but then it's them that ought to apologize for their behaviour, and not me ...
So, yes, whilst the life of my fiancé, and those of my trans friends, regardless of differences of any poltical opinion I may have with them, matter, those that take the far/hard-left of the debate are making it _really_ difficult to support trans rights ...
[*= personally I use Gender, Romantic, and Sexual Minorities (GRSM), as a) its much more simplier than the current, expanded, alphabet soup; and b) encompasses, as far as I can tell, everyone in that soup, with the exception of Allies, without need for further letters.]

Psychotherapeutic psychology has noted that the majority anorexia nervous sufferers who are prepubescent are overwhelming female. As a trans woman (and especially as a trans lesbian), I feel a strong sense of responsibility to be an ally to biologically female people. I I believe it is harmful appropriation as an outsider to the sex to take on the identity of womanhood and enter women's spaces without listening to bio females and prioritizing their comfort and safety. My rights as a trans woman should never come at their expense. No biologically male person is exempt from examining and breaking down toxic masculinity. No bio male is exempt from supporting bio females in this deeply misogynistic world. Even if I'm not a man, I was still programmed and socialized that way and it's still on me to be aware of it. Despite the many shared experiences I have with bio women, there are many aspects of womanhood and the female experience that I will never understand. There is literally a Ted talk with a trans woman who transitioned later in life who said being a male was easier then being female. Many were successful men who had things given to them from their previous gender, even if they were otherwise unhappy with themselves.

    • @halomorningstar967
      @halomorningstar967 4 роки тому +7

Male entitlement in transwomen sometimes means that they place themselves front and center in discussions about problems that affect ciswomen more or differently and certainly have affected ciswomen for longer periods of time. And because our culture trains DFAB people literally from birth that they aren't allowed to speak loudly on their own behalf, that they must automatically take a quiet (and supportive) second place when a male-trained voice speaks, it becomes even more difficult for ciswomen to stand up for themselves if a transwoman rolls up full of the also-automatic, also culturally-instilled assumption that theirs are the most important concerns in the room.
And that's not to say that transwomen don't experience problems that affect them more. They certainly do. And when they do, they advise ciswomen to talk less and listen more. This is a great idea, and it would be even greater if ciswomen could count on similar support - rather than being treated like...well, treated like women talking to men.
Also - #NotAllTranswomen. Of course. It shouldn't have to be said at all. Except it does need to be said, because bringing up these issues can degenerate into all sorts of accusations.

Just go on dating/social media apps, and you'll notice some trans women do still approach dating in a more aggressive manner. It's really not a stretch at all to say that some people, especially if they're early in their transition, so maintain some patterns of behaviour from the gender they are transitioning from.

Full disclosure: I am a trans man who didn’t physically transition until age 24.
I think it’s important how, in this video, you led with compassion towards young people without dysphoria who are transitioning early in life. I, too, believe they should be offered more therapeutic guidance.
That being said, perhaps you could focus more on empathy based videos rather than vids which come off as anti-trans? Some of your videos fuel more hate towards trans people than compassion for non-trans children who medically transition against their best interest.
It would be really f*cking cool to see you make content about HOW we can protect people from making wrong decisions for themselves and their bodies.
For instance, a video about increased funding for more ubiquitous child therapy could be really informative. Or even a video talking about “informed consent”, and its pros and cons.
All I’m saying is, perhaps this backlash from the trans community could be an opportunity to shift video structures and themes in order to make your opinions more clear. The result could be more unifying than divisive. I bet you’d see even more support from multiple communities.

I’m really happy you speak about these topics. I’ve had the exact experience you’ve described. As a young girl, I accepted that I was attracted to other girls by around 10 years old. I was a depressed and anxious kid. I escaped my pain (which had no clear cause) through social media - specifically Tumblr. I met a lot of trans people through this platform and I very strongly connected with the idea of being trans. The idea burned inside my brain. I would pray at night in tears in middle school that I would wake up the next day in a male body. I came out as trans around age 13-14 and publicly identified as such all throughout my high school years. I started taking testosterone pretty much as soon as I turned 18. About 6 months on hormones, I realized that being trans wasn’t going to solve any of the problems I was trying to escape - the same problems I had when I was so young and made the decision to transition. I had to face the fact that being a man isn’t going to solve any of problems. If anything, being trans had exacerbated every problem I had, including my social phobia. It’s the 3 year anniversary since I started identifying as a lesbian and stopped taking T, and I couldn’t be happier with that decision.
It’s worrisome how easy it can be for children to get access to hormone blockers, hormones, and surgeries when it’s such a tricky situation to figure out a correct diagnosis for these kids without permanently damaging their bodies. This doesn’t mean people with gender dysphoria aren’t trans and shouldn’t transition. I have no rule over anyone else’s body or decisions. Gender dysphoria is more complex than what’s “advertised” to young girls and boys as a solution to feeling very uncomfortable with ourselves and our bodies.
    Thanks again.
    All love

Good that you didn't jump on transitioning. Mine is a similar one too, lesbian and thought I was trans (had dysphoria) throughout my teens. During 18-21, I began actually contemplating why do I want to be a man, not woman.
Turned out I thought that being a woman limited my masculine self (misogyny), and that it was better to be attracted to women as a transman (internalised homophobia). Worked through all that, realised that I can be as butch as I am, and being born a woman encompassed that side of my being too. And ofc, that I was a lesbian. It was a breath of fresh air.
I'm glad to be out of gender dysphoria, it was getting worse. I'm sure if I'd received the offer of hormones and surgery that time, I would've regretted it

This is the reason why people are scared of all these trans rights allowing children to make these decisions. Most people at those ages are having trouble figuring out what or who we are anyways. All of us. Hormones, body changes, deciding how we want to dress, or look, or what sexual preferences we like or don't like. But just because you are a female who wants to be more masculine, clothes, hair, etc do not define your gender, or sexual preferences. It's ok to be a masculine female, or a feminine male, and still be heterosexual, or lesbian or gay. It doesn't automatically mean you want or need to become the opposite gender to be happy.

    EDIT: AND ANOTHER THING
The Trans Women in Sports issue.
Kalvin used the fact that he (a trans MAN) plays lacrosse. Great. Good. That's not what's being discussed here. A FTM individual who transitioned while in puberty and who's bones and muscles have grown over a period of time with the application of Testosterone competing in a sport with other males who have testosterone pumping in their systems CANNOT be compared to a MTF individual who has mostly gone through puberty, who's bones and muscles have already grown thanks to their testosterone and which cannot simply be undone by taking estrogen competing in a sport with females who have never had the competitive benefit of Testosterone IN THEIR LIVES. Or even worse an MTF individual who has almost completed puberty and has never taken any estrogen AT ALL competing with females who cannot be expected to match them in physical strength or aggression regarding competition.

@@daisyf.3151 Gee, thank you for all of those elaborate assumptions about me, a complete anonymous stranger on the internet. First of all, I'm not a right-winger, nor a left-winger. I find that both, the far left and the far right are equally toxic. I'm fully aware of what leftism is, thank you very much. Leftism used to be about tolerance, acceptance, compassion, empathy, but it has now become like the far right, but with different ideology. Leftism has become a breeding ground for narcissistic, entitled idiots with fascist-like tendencies. I don't like that, so I don't call myself a leftist anymore. Kalvin displayed a lot of the traits of a far-leftist: literally judged a book by its cover, claimed it was a "TERF" book without even having read it, and admitting to it. Cognitive dissonance 101 right there, something far-leftists are known for. Implied support for transwomen, who are biologically male, to compete against bio women, even though the results of this have been fatal for bio women. Lastly, like Arielle said, Blaire White has openly criticized this and Kalvin didn't call her out for it, which I'm going to assume is because she's (Blaire) trans. It's like Kalvin is ok with Blaire or any other trans person saying everything Arielle has said, but is not ok when someone not trans says it. This is classic far-leftist behavior. Demand inclusion but also practice exclusion like a champ.

But you can say that for any age. Coming out at any age can mean you lose friends, family, future prospects-- just because they're children doesn't mean that they're completely safe and will be accepted with open arms. Even at an age like, idk, 28, you really don't see many trans people coming out at that age. This sudden rise in trans people is only in children, teenagers and the odd 20/21-year-old (so still school age). Pretty much no-one older than that shares the same SJW ideology and is a "woke" non-binary pansexual or whatever person.
This is probably because gender is now mostly seen as more of a personality trait; if you're a little bit quirky and stray from gender stereotypes, then you're automatically trans and anyone who questions you is a bigot-- this is their mindset. A rather unhealthy one to say the least.
And personality and identity is a huge thing we all go through until we're about 25 when our brains fully develop. Everyone goes through this. It's normal. But it doesn't mean we need to stick a label on everything and rush into irreversible procedures and take away people's rights for the sake of a tiny minority's convenience.

Thank you for this. My youngest daughter is like me. We both struggle with bi polar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and have a history of suicide attempts. At 45 years old I have had the opportunity of time and the blessing of decades of mental health treatment including individual therapy, psych ward stays, a long term (14 years) and attentive (he worked in tandem with my sleep doctor to find the best mix of medications to treat my mental illnesses and my narcolepsy w/cataplexy psychiatrist and DBT, including a 90 day intensive DBT residential treatment for women with emotional disorders. I am far from normal and understand that my daily life is a constant balance of healthy behavior and psychotic thoughts and urges. No, I'm not going to gallop up to you, bite off your nose and then howl at the moon but I am aware that I see and feel the world through a distorted lens, therefore almost all knee jerk responses and reactions have to be arrested until they are run through my approbations committee (aka the rational side of my thought process). If someone decides it will be funny to jump out and surprise me it all becomes a moot point. That's the unpredictable fun of cataplexy, you never know when you may become an unresponsive heap on the ground. I refer to it has "fainting goat syndrome."
My daughter is a lesbian. I have no issue with that, saw it coming, never wavered in my support, acceptance and pride in who my daughter was. She struggles, more than her brother or sister ever have. They have made such great futures for themselves by their own grit, determination and self discipline. I can take no credit in it but I am fiercely proud of them. The one thing that only my youngest knows, the one thing that no matter how I try I can't put into words for my other two children to ever understand is that forever and always pervading sense of not belonging, always being slightly out of sync with the world around you. Knowing that you're participating in your surroundings but never able to stop feeling like your skin is too tight, to know the right thing to say but the wrong one is voiced, where the world is too close while understanding almost all are watching you up close from far away. The agony of learning hose that venture close find your reality more than they can handle day in and day out. She has decided that she is a trans man. At first I supported it but it became irrefutable that she was trying to find an easy way to circumvent the pain of harsh reality. Everyday I hope she will find the ability to grab control and realize that it will all hurt less when she stops playing the victim, and starts creating the life story of experiences that will always and forever be a little uncomfortable but the smiles, the tears, the joy, the pain, the left right, up down, black white, in out and the other side of the Looking Glass while chasing the Jabberwocky is 100% wholely hers.

IF you have been diagnosed with asexuality and you have no interest in men or women, I haven't a clue why you would want to be included into the lgbt community, where sexual orientation/the fact that we love and are attracted to the same sex (both if you're bi), is key. there are some big misconceptions in your answer.
      1. you assumed all Asexual are aromatic. that's a common misconception, Asexuals can be biromantic (like me), they can be homoromantic (like Slice of Ace UA-camr) they can be hetroromantic (like the Ace episodes UA-camr) they can be literally anything. so it's a misconception that Asexuals don't have a sex drive or don't want to have sex.
Asexuality is about SEXUAL ATTRACTION, just as homosexuality is about sexual attraction to the other sex, and hetero is about sexual attraction to the opposite sex, and bi is sexual attraction to both. Asexuality is about lack of attraction, not about not having a sex drive. many Asexuals, me included, have a sex drive, people who don't are often sick or have some kind of a real life problem, Asexuality is not a problem or something that can be fixable like a lack of a sexual drive, sexual attraction is not libido, those are two different things. and Asexuals CAN have sex, they wouldn't crave it as much as sexual people, but they still can have it (unless they are disgusting by it, than they are sex repulsed. not to be mistaken with fear of sex which is mostly a mental problem cused by trauma, sex repulsed don't fear sex, they are just disgusted by the act). so you can still vary much have an interest in man and woman, just not in their bodies, or in extreme cases (like demisexuality or gray a) you can feel just a bit of sexual attraction or feel it to a limited amount of humans, (for example, in demisexuality case, I'm demi, currently there are 3 people I feel any sexual attraction to in the whole world. which is 😂 and we don't experience crushes. this simply doesn't exist in our brains)
      2. you said that being LGBT is being attracted to someone, which is false, since T is also there, and scientifically speaking, the A is much closer to LGB than the T, it doesn't mean the T doesn't belong to the acronym. the community wasn't made as the "weird sexuality club" it was made for people whom gender/sexuality is different from the general society which are discriminated for that reason. because those people need help the community was born, to lift them up, not as some kind of an oppression Olympics like it is this days.
      3. the main reason I want the A to be added to the acronym is actually vary selfish. I'm not a "special snowflake". I'm a middle eastern person who grow up in a country where to be any letter is NOT "cool". in over 9 middle eastern countries Asexuals are raped by the law because there is a law that doesn't agree to acknowledge marriage with no sex, there is also an Islamic law that punishes people who don't have sex within marriage, and you can be beaten to death by law for it, mostly Asexual women are the one to pay the price, and since in chritian countries this laws doesn't exist, the community is under the impression Asexuals in the middle east are not killed raped or oppressed (which, I'm sorry but it's the biggest thing I hate about this community. they are very fast to show their "oppression cards" of how LGBT are treated in the middle east and use us as examples, but they never actually care about us. they never advocate for us. they cry about oppression of not being able to buy a wedding cake while I'm here scared for literally my life because I might live in the only middle east country that won't kill me, but just beyond my country borders I count as a freak that can be raped against my will by law. and just 2 kilometres from where I stand, this is the law of the land.
but no. of course a wedding cake is MUCH more important to western LGBT than our literal *lives* here in the middle east)
so I'm hoping that if the A would join the LGBT maybe the community would help Asexuals in countries where it's illegal for them to exist without being raped. so as I said, it's about resources and awareness to those problems that people just honestly don't know about.

you mentioned seeing a doctor which exactly the kind of problem I'm talking about. you assumed I have sex drive problem (libido) which, I don't lol. thanks g d. Asexuality isn't about libido, Asexuality is about dopamine.
you remember I said scientifically Asexuals are more similar to LGB than the T? well that's because of how sexual attraction works. for the LG, for homosexuality, the dopamine, the drag of attraction in the brain is created for the opposite sex, for Bisexuality for both, and for Asexuals the dopamine has low creation rate or not created at all, which is why they count scientifically as a valid sexual orientation, because they have the same characteristics as homosexuality, bisexuality and heterosexuality. Asexuality doesn't change over time, it stays stable, it also is rooted in your brain not your libido. the fact you told me to go checked show you didn't know that, and I don't blame you because that's exactly why I'm advocating for Asexuality to get into the acronym, because of awareness, nowdays people view Asexuals in worst manner than any other LGBT group in the USA (according to a research done in one of California university, there is info about it online) more people would deny a house to an Asexual than a gay couple or even a trans person because of hate that comes lack of awareness. Asexuals are less than 1% the population yet 3% of violence against LGBT is directed at them (statistics I kinda suffered) and Asexuals are the no1 in the whole LGBT in conversation rape, people think it's a sex drive problem or "I'm so hot I can heal you from your Asexuality" thing.
Also, I can't actually go to a psychiatrist to take care of myself as Ace, because, sadly, because there is 0 awareness (especially in my country where there isn't one organisation to help Asexuals) so I can't go to a psychiatrist to help me (though I wouldn't anyway cuse I'm gonna be in the Closet for all eternity lol. my family is more Acephbic than homophobic or trasphobic. but it's probably because of the cultural change) because he doesn't KNOW most if the time what Asexual is and would confuse the term with sex drive defection just like you, which would cuse him to prescribe me hormones that would do absolutely nothing but hurt me. (and give cancer. a lot of Aces were forced hormones upon them to fix them back than, and it cused vary bad cases of cancer and death because people tried to "cure" their sexuality)
so those are my main points.

So this is my opinion and it’s gonna be long so if anyone reads this thanks I like kalvins vids I find him smart and entertaining I found him through Blair and ariel when I started questioning my sexual orientation after years of trying to push down my feelings. A lot of lgbt content started popping up. Anyway based on some of kalvins comments it feels like kalvin flip flops. He said he used to be very sjw in a vid and that he was friends with people like you and Blaire and London and not chase ross because he said he’d realized how wrong that was. Now it seems like he’s flipping back to the sjw side. Maybe not full blown but leaning that way. I say this because of the comment about biological sex and hormones and intersex people that he made. Intersex is a birth defect that affects a very minuscule amount of people. So idk why this is always the argument used to me sex is someone who has xx or xy chromosomes and or has or should have the ability to produce eggs or sperm. Obviously there are exceptions there are women who can’t get pregnant men who can’t ejaculate there are people with extra chromosomes or the opposite but in general those are a minuscule number. Anothe thing I thought was funny was him bringing up you saying that some trans women can have male entitlement. What I read from that was more of a toxic masculinity thing which women can have as well as men. I could be wrong and you can correct me if I am but It seemed like you said it in the wrong way but the point came across to me at least. To that point when you’re raised as a boy even if you’re not a boy that toxic masculinity can sometimes stay with you and you may not even realize it. That male entitlement or toxic masculinity could have been from before your transition. Especially since a lot of behaviors are learned not innate. Don’t get me wrong I like kalvin but as a bisexual cis female I think a lot of what you say is to open people’s eyes you’re controversial cause you have to be. No one other than you blaire and rose are talking about these things. Yeah you might not be trans but you’re a woman and when trans rights cross over the line to women’s right you have a reason to speak up. Why is “male entitlement” only for males and not for trans women who have been raised and socialized at some point in their lives, usually at least in their formative years, as MEN??? I can see how that’s not the case when children or teens come out as trans, but when they’re transitioning, say, at 19, certainly they would be treated as men throughout their life until that point, right? This sucks. I took Kalvin off of notification a few weeks ago as some of his videos are a bit harsh imo. He doesn't seem to understand when he crosses over into bullying territory. And I know he mentioned a little while ago that he'd talked to you about your content but I honestly don't know if I ever could have foreseen him making a full video on you. I think it's uncalled for personally and just starts drama. I think I remember Blaire saying smth recently about following people without having to always agree with them and I think there's great merit in that. You should always broaden your circle and listen to others' views and make sure to not get caught up in an echo chamber. That requires a degree of understanding as to why people hold the views that they do though. UA-camrs shouldn't make drama videos about each other whenever they disagree. This isn't school, we're all adults now. Personally, I used to be ignorant to the issues caused by things like self-ID. I've always wanted to be supportive and open-minded and never wanted to be bigoted to anyone. I still don't. But after a lot of doing my own research and following people I disagreed with, my views have changed. I now know abt issues with rape crisis and DV shelters, lesbian rights, etc, and I honestly kind of wish I'd never looked. I know and love trans people but to pretend like we cis women aren't being affected by mainstream trans activism (keyword mainstream. I know it's a minority in reality) is just ignorance at this point. Love your content and also am still subbed to Kalvin and I hope you guys can work things out bc your friendship was awesome and this is incredibly upsetting to watch. 😔💔

Calling it self-harm is... well, weird. I’m transgender, and before transitioning, I would self-harm. Head to toe (yes, I did self-harm on my face) were just... cuts. Everywhere. I was confused because I should’ve been happy. I had all As, I had a bf who loved me, I had everything I wanted. Yet, for seemingly no reason, I’d cry and self-harm daily. Started doing hormones and I’m happy and haven’t self-harmed since.
To have friends and family leave you, to have to take hormones for the rest of your life, to have to deal with society just not accepting you in general, it’s just... why would someone do that to themselves? Masochism? What’s the cause of their depression if they thought transitioning would help? And, if they didn’t feel any better, why wouldn’t they stop taking hormones, detransition, get their family back, etc.?
If they don’t quit taking hormones, at what point can you just say they’re not going to detransition and they’re happier that way. No one in their right mind would do this to themselves.
Also, where is it accepted? Asking because I want to move there. They could speak a different language, idc, I’ll learn it during my stay. Don’t say California, I live there and it’s not as accepting as it may seem. Tell someone you’re transgender, they’ll zip it. Don’t tell them, they’ll tell you how much they hate the tr*nnies, lmao

I think one of the big problems is the way you word things. Speaking as a trans guy myself I acknowledge that I'm biologically female and that's not going to change. But that doesnt mean I'm okay with being called female or seeing headlines like "trans women are not women". It makes trans people feel kinda ass. Like I know I'm biologically female, but its upsetting to think about and a big reason I like to transition. For example you wouldnt say depressed people are depressed. It's kinda obvious and probably not something they'd want to acknowledge. I use to have depression myself and that's the only reason I'm comfortable using that example. While your videos have good points to them, the way they are worded feels like little stings that leave a bad taste. It's a free country so feel free to talk about whatever you feel is effecting you. My issue I've seen so far is the way things are worded.

The fact that seeing the truth makes someone feel bad isn't a good reason to lie in public when women's rights are on the line. There is 0 feminist advocacy that can be done to defend the right of female people to our own spaces and groups while saying that trans women are women. At some point the question comes up, and it's either lie or say the truth. If someone who's currently experiencing depression finds it offensive when someone says they're depressed, that's a personal fragility problem and it isn't the responsibility of everyone around them to lie. We can't have the definition of "female" if we have to pretend trans men aren't female. That doesn't mean bringing it up in irrelevant personal conversations with people because that's mean and helps no one, but I really don't see how she could be honest without hurting anyone's feelings.

The LG, the B, the T, we're all just fighting all the time. We're FIGHTING. We're starting to break apart, and the cishet society IS watching - that's what we forget. They're watching everything we do and say, and then BASING their viewpoints on us based on it. My childhood idealism of identifying safely as LGBT is... Gone. It's all just a big 'ooft'. And in reality? My opinion on these friendships on LGBT UA-camrs doesn't matter, I'm a viewer and not in your personal lives. I am just so saddened in *all*... All, whatever side of politics...
