This one is about the chronically ill who are trapped inside their houses all the time, neither dead nor alive. He did also go to an exorcist. He told Justin Hawkins he tried everything that could be tried for his illness.
This is a fun video one of my favourites its all those nights he suffered with insomnia and he was trapped in the house not being able to do anything so fun but deep meaning
Ren uses an homage to noir to talk about the chronically ill who live unseen and unheard but are often screaming for help. The section when he's in the alcove with the writing he's talking about being bipolar and losing his mind. It was one of the 1st videos he made and was released on Halloween so it was intended to be dark and fun (like Halloween). I'm glad you didn't rave over it though... it means you're giving your honest opinion and not pretending for likes... it means I can trust your reactions. Thanks.
I think this may have been recorded while he was at college for performing arts just prior to him dropping out due to the initial illness that was misdiagnosed as bi polar and ME etc… he was signed by a Sony producer and some of his early music was initially recorded for an album he was making … the producer gave him permission to use these songs on his first album that her released during his early years of debilitating illness…
I'm with Morgan on this, so many other things you could have gone with. How about Bongo Bong, bet she would have loved that one, or Wade in the Water/Nina Simone/Trouble so Hard would have been a great way to go here. Maybe even some more Rap like What You Want or Bittersweet Symphony. Come on Melvin, step up your game, this is Ren, and you have a fantastic reactor with you.
As soon as I saw that you were reacting to this I thought, let's see how Morgan feels about it and... she feels the same way I do. It's not a bad song and it is well done but it fails to reach the sublime levels of Ren's usual offerings. I wouldn't want this to be my intro to Ren.
This is quite "early" Ren, I like the concept behind it but it isn't really one of my faves *edit* That looks like Bibi, his ex-girlfriend which he did Crutch with
I am a huge Ren fan but this is one I just really do not care for at all. Ren did a great job with it but I just don’t like the portrayal of the children in his story. It’s classic horror. I like some horror movies but not this one. None the less, Ren is very talented. This was released 4 years ago.
Children of the Moon was a Halloween treat for his fans, it was his way of creating/producing a horror film

Ren, loves film noir and has film making as a future goal.
It says something about his music if the one styled after a horror movie is his mildest endeavor. Lol
Nothing wrong with a song, that just flows without being complicated or heavy.
Again I love this one. It’s really artistic. Fun and imaginative. ❤❤❤❤❤

If you want to draw direct influences for this, try The Tiger Lillies.
They're all about this.
I can guarantee Ren has seen them
Did you know that the body is Sam, Ren's camera man.
I personally love this one but I'm an insomniac and stare at the moon too much 😂 it's theatrical and fun with dark humour.. 🤘😎
This is brilliant 😊

You’re right. In fact, I went to check it wasn’t from ‘The Rocky Horror Show’ after hearing it. It’s awesome.
here we go !!! i'm watching all as they come out! (i did stop for lunch too XD)
Loved this song before I saw the video. I laughed through out. I like the juxtaposition of upbeat song and dark film.
Sweet Little Lady is a Must!!!
I agree with you Morgan
Another classic in it's own " Ren " way"
Haven’t seen a lot of people do this one. I just found it about a week ago
Yo I love this one because it’s so different

Good one for showing some SKA vibes!
I'm with her

Maybe at halloween
Yep that's what it was realised for, as a Halloween fan treat
How old was he when he made this? He looks about 14!

It isn't one of my favourites, either. I do wonder if this was a 'Sony' song.....hence the more commercial feel.
Yeah, this isn't one I like either. It's not awful, but it's not something I would listen to again.
