Genuine question for the more learned than I - is Janine a bit sharp e.g. at 0:23, 0:47-0:48? I heard Joshua Bell perform the same piece live (with Berlin Phil) and they seem to differ not only stylistically but also tonally (inc. pitch-wise)? That said, Jansen's playing is breathtaking as usual :)

@@bennieboi99 unfortunately in 2024 people are still sexist and misogynistic towards women classical musicians

I will propose something to you. Listen to all those musicians blindly, with your eyes closed, and I am sure you'll find a HUGE difference. Sexism does not affect the way someone sounds..

É deprimente que em pleno 2024, ainda tenhamos comentários machistas e sexistas. Que decadência. Me causa nojo seu comentário

Why are people so eager to make this a "sexism" issue. Her genitals don't have anything to do with the critique about her interpretation..
She is very emotional in her playing but more with her body tension than with the music, so it comes across as hysterical (that literally means "affected by or deriving from wildly uncontrolled emotion".

@@bennieboi99 Movement is not an issue, tension is. Just look at Menuhin, Oistrakh, Heifetz, new Vengerov, Ana Chumachenco, Mutter and you'll see and hear the difference.
If you're looking for sexism you'll find it, just focus on the artistry and everything will make sense.

Weekend is here friends, time for dating fans & supporters enjoying more music happenings and let them gifted artists entertain us some more, mostly those who need to discover classical music from now on...still, the solo violin needs a microphone, the orchestra is too lowd and it ruins all the surprise effect on strings. Compared to David Garrett, the most romantic violin player, I would like to ask other musicians...please try not to hate that much a poor violin, try to close your eyes and ...think it's me...handle with care no matter how agressive the composition might be... audience needs emotions not exactly rage and anger on strings... don't you think?😢😢😢
