Okay public PSA right here: DO NOT EVER COOK IN A TENT! Most of the tents showcase a propane grill/cooker inside of it, but do not be fooled! this is very dangerous, especially in a closed tent. (Even if all the doors/vestibules are open DO NOT COOK INSIDE OF THE TENT!)
2 of my friends died from putting a charcoal grill in there tent to stay warm at Charlotte Motor Speedway. So sounds like you don't know as much as you think!
People are going to have a field day with that...... but in most cases no do not cook in a tent, but they do make tents you can cook in, they have a vent with a fan to pull the carbon monoxide and stuff out. And they also make flameless cook tops.....
I wish I were young again. I LOVE camping. I have camped for nearly 60 years and used everything from a pile of sticks and leaves to tents I handmade. I have camped with nothing but a knife, no clothes, or any other gear and I have camped in a 40 foot RV dressed to the nines. I have slept in a cardboard box for and lived on many types of boats. My favorite times in this life have been falling asleep knowing that my life is 100% in my hands at any moment and that I have the tools to deal with it accordingly. My fondest memories are of camping events, especially with family and friends. My life was saved several times while camping and I have seen and participated in ending lives and saving them. Don't get that twisted, I never hurt a human, I have killed to eat though. I have about two dozen inventions I never did anything with, life was too fluid for me to sit still long enough to get the job done. Now that I can't camp anymore, perhaps it is time. Blessings and peace to you all............SmOrEs aLl ArOuNd!
Madison Browder no kidding...I had to sleep in the living room with our nervous rescue dog before she was potty trained enough to be allowed upstairs. She climbed up with me and her toenails must have punctured it because I woke up on the floor.

@@ChronicallySmokinChronic yes it is, that is the definition of these 2 words, if an item advertises as waterproof and is in fact only water resistant it is falsely advertised
I love the wide sheets of flex tape... It takes the place of body shapers quite righteously.. It flexes with you as you move, lasts as long as you need it to and holds you in in the right places...😜 😎
Glitch Inc interesting, not only did I have to endure no less than 5 adverts, to watch it, I had to do one of YTs stupid surveys also. I watched it again before posting this reply, yep same thing.
My wife and I oddly own three of these. We have two boys 9 & 7. The “ikamper” didn’t cost nearly as much as mentioned here and our bubble tent cost much more. Also I might add that my wife often uses the “flying tent” when she has back pain as she says it is amazing for eliminating the pain or at least reducing it. The “bubble tent”(or what my boys call the beetle tent) is not simple to set up and I would recommend not using it unless you plan on camping for at least a week. We use the “ikamper” the most and it mounts very well on my wife’s little Subaru Forester but needs an additional set of roof brackets that attached to the stock (permanent) ones. Once you have those installed it is fairly easy to mount and remove the tent. We leave those additional brackets on all the time though because they are very difficult to reattach and have a built in leveling system that is mind numbing for me, so I just leave the brackets in place and they work great for bikes, kayaks, and the tent although not at the same time. Great content for us nutcases that are always camping.
Marian Flores no not really we just have a passion for this and we have two sons that are in Scouting. Some families buy large expensive RVs or campers and big trucks to pull those campers. So really this is a lot cheaper option and (in our opinion) a lot more exciting.
But y do u want the sky tent..........it be useless if a predator comes by and sees the tent with u in it, probably zipped up and no where to run......so much of working 2 years developing for a useless tent that possibly can't even save your life.-_-
I like how the flying tents conveniently omit showing how you're supposed to get into or out of the damn things without killing yourself or someone else...
When I was a kid in the boy scouts we had to camp in old moldy/campfire-smelling army tents. They took about 30 minutes to set up. These are so awesome.
Okay my friends family actually has that first one and it's the best tent ever. She brought it to a graduation party where we camped out in the backyard and all 8 girls attending were able to comfortably sleep in it. It's a DAMN GOOD TENT.
Tarp, hammock, quilt, and insulation (preferably something like a reindeer skin). If you can't use the ground, the hammock will do, and if the area is good you can just use the tarp. Here in Scandinavia it gets pretty cold, but so far not a problem for this set up. A regular water proof tent provides the same as the ones in this video, except they only cost a fraction. In case you don't have access to trees, a tent is nice.
Horsesminyana 25 I know they broke up I have a younger brother who watches them he told me but at least there still freinds I hear he has a new girlfriend
The ground or on a tarp me and my mates couldn’t find a campsite and it was gonna rain we put a large tarp on the ground Became a quesadilla and we were good
I’ve been told by experienced campers that it isn’t even wise to eat in your tent. Especially in bear country. The food odor stays in your tent even though you wouldn’t have food in it later. The scent is still there. People have been mauled by a bear through the tent after the bear mistakenly thinks those people are the food.
I was gonna say the same! Get mint essential oil add it to a bottle of water in a spray bottle and spray around the doors, windows (the very walls!) and you can do this at home as well in a tent keep spiders and most if not nearly all bugs away
JT 1200 Yeah but if the wind is very high you would go spinning in it or rolling depending on if it is on the grown or in the air and that would harm you.
To us, ridged frame tens are the way to go. My wife can set it up herself in less then 3 minutes and all the parts are already in place. Our 12 x 10 folds neatly in to the car bag of 6" x 8" x 38" and that is important because we travel the country in a 73 MG Midget. check us out
Now take these top ideas and combine them into one tent; a waterproof self healing fabric with sky-view that can stay cool in the heat with optional warm fabric version for cold weather flying tent that can be installed on the ground, on a car, or in the air using an air pump out of an EZ-up tent that has modular attachments, including transparent bubble biosphere, that can be interconnected to the tent which withstands winds up to 50kmh with a price around $200. Sold.
You could say that the tent on the roof of the car would really "DRIVE" the owner crazy! Because the roof of the car would likely have dents on the roof after the tent's use
Stingray needs a 3D printed floor ypu can roll up yet unroll it and flipnit over and it becomes ridged to support the weight of individuals within the Stingray. 😊
Roof top tents are a gimmick and only suitable for people who weigh less than 100lbs. I love the way they show the Asian family of 4 who's combined weight is less than 200 lbs... Regardless of how much the rails on a roof top say they support, the body and frame of the vehicle are only rated up 200lbs MAX (depending on vehicle). I have a Z71 Tahoe and its max roof load is 165lbs, after putting 250+lbs in rooftop basket the weight divoted (pushed in) the body of the roof where the posts are. The only benefit I see from these would be strapping down 2 or 3 for transport, then putting the on the ground to use.
SamwiseDuderino mate just because you live in a part of the world where things are easy doesnt mean the rest of us do. Here in africa roof top tents are life saving if we go camp in the real bush. And here our rooftop tents are made strong and the structures the attach on are very strong
Yes, in Africa, your shit is built right. Easy has nothing to do with it, I personally hate this glamping shit. I was pointing out the impracticality of the trendy roof top campers that are no more than a pop-up Thule with some fabric.
Not how roof tents work. When stationary, the vehicle can support much more than 100 lbs. Roof weights are for when vehicle is in motion/on the highway.
That is just plain fucking stupid. "When Stationary"!? You wouldnt be in the damn thing while the cars moving. Whether stationary, or mobile, the weight limit, as specified by the manufacturers owner manuals, IS THE SAME AT ALL TIMES! It is not altered by wind sheer, that is called DRAG and is a totally different calculation. Hence: if a "sleeper" weighs 25lbs and a cargo rack can hold 165lbs, then you are left with approx 140lbs of safe carrying capacity before you risk damage to the cross members and possibly your rooftop. If you add TWO 140lb people to the mix, thats 300+lbs sitting on a rooftop that is SAFELY rated for 165lbs (doubling the capacity and reducing the integrity). Placing 250+lbs in the cargo rack (rated for a max 165) on my 2014 Tahoe, which is a pretty damn solid vehicle, and going down dirt roads buckled the sheet metal surrounding the stand-offs for the rack from the weight and the up/down bumpy-ass roads. Ever see what a 40lb kid does to a hood or rooftop while playing around on a car? Now imagine 250+lbs of dipshits on top of your vehicle. Plus, if you read their documentation it states: . NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE DONE TO VEHICLE DUE TO IMPROPER USE/INSTALLATION. (Its their CYA (CoverYourAss) disclaimer for dumb-asses who buy these, because THEY KNOW people are bound to jack up their roofs and they are not going to be responsible. IMPROPER USE dictates overloading the capacity of you roof top. I'll say again, these are NOT PRACTICAL for stock, run of the mill roof tops, not unless you are such a waif that Kate Moss looks fat next to you... If you have a small trailer, itd be great to tote around 4-6 of these with all your other glamping needs and deploy them like a little base camp village, but thats the extent of my enthusiasm concerning these. The roof toppers that Ivan speaks of are built on re-enforced frames and designed to hold thousands of pounds and protect those sleeping on them.

The guy in the first one was using a camp stove inside the tent🤦🏽♂️
I’ve been told by experienced campers that it isn’t even wise to eat in your tent. Especially in bear country. The food odor stays in your tent even though you wouldn’t have food in it later. Linda Brave oh agreed. Always eat at least 50-100 feet from your tent.

"Top ten coolest tents in the world"
Starts with a normal family tent
Yeah i have that first tent but with blow up poles instead of normal it isn’t a very special tent
The roof toppers that Ivan speaks of are built on re-enforced frames and designed to hold thousands of pounds and protect those sleeping on them.
all of the garbage on the ground @ 4:30 was a nice touch!!!
Those are really cool tents.
