😂🤣 they kept falling down in the wind and my girls absolutely loved kicking the ball at them they wanted me to rebuild it so they can do it again 😂🤣 Thanks for watching 👍
I've a huge amount to melt in my shed. With the Devil Forge its a shame that the hole in the smaller than the cans, it would be great to just drop the cans in and keep the heat. I may get the grinder out to see what happens.🤣
You’ve got way too much aluminum in your dross, don’t be scared to get that crucible bright red. Raising your temp considerably helps the most without adding salt. However, you could also do your initial melt just as you are now, and then remelt the dross at a higher temp with salt included. But then you’re burning twice as much propane, so I run mine as hot as it’ll go with the gas as low as it’ll go while maintaining a proper burn.
Melting aluminium cans at home step 1: shred cans step 2: shred again, at least 5 times. 3500 cans shredded down should fit into two 5 gallon buckets easily and can be fed in with a scoop.

Great video! I loved watching all the cans be added to the forge :)
It’s strangely satisfying ain’t it 🤣 thanks for watching
I ADD SALT TO MY CANS HELPS CUT DOWN THE DROSS GOOD ONE 👍
Nice melt. I was looking at the pyramid of cans like a pile of leaves, they your kid kicked a ball at it and made it fall. Looked like fun.
Yeah they loved it they wanted me to rebuild it so they can do it again 🤣😂
great vid mate, just curious how many bottles of gas did this melt take?
This session I used just under 3/4 of a tank
IS It Cheaper toodo it that way Bro or jut cash em In for 10c each ,Or just take emtoothe scrapy ?
It’s cheaper to cash them in definitely but for me it’s a hobby and I don’t pay for gas so I have no cost apart from my time
@@meltingipswichFill us in on how to get free propane. Thanks!
@@billymacktexasdetective5827 sorry.

😂🤣 yeah it’s a shame you have to keep the lid open to feed them in and then you have to close it for a wile before scraping the dross off
Bet it took a while. I melt cans as well. Kind of a waste of money though. You would get more taking them for recycling, but wheres the fun in that :)

I would love to get a shredder for cans but I can’t find one
@@meltingipswich make one.... i plan to come spring
The price has gone up to £300.00 per ton at the scrap where I take my cans.
Has it, that’s really good I’m going to double check with my local scrap yard
@meltingipswich yes I have some GOOD people at work helping now because they found out what I am doing with the Air Ambulances in the UK.
Awesome video nice aluminum bars thanks for sharing
Thank you 👍
@@meltingipswich you're welcome
32 8 oz cans is a lb. One lb of cans recycle for $00.05.
I will finish the melt for Sunday and have a weigh up and I will weigh the dross as well.
Then see what there is in total
"2.2 pounds of alu is needed to cast a recurve riser that is worth minimum £50- plenty of tutorials on YT
Just cash them in 10c a piece. Worth more than scrap.
@@robrob5081 but then he wouldn't be able to make a melting vid!

It's too bad you don't have something to crush the dross so that you can get more of the aluminium off the dross lol
Yeah there is still good aluminium among the dross but that will go down to the scrap yard
I have seen some melt down the dross and got decent returns of aluminium. Might be worth a go if you have loads of it.
