    It's nice to see a documentary showing Liberia in its true light. I love Madame Johnson! She gives me hope that Americo-Liberians aren't as bad as we think.

      Cocoa Boayue You know it's kind of hard to really think who are the actual America-Liberians. Many Liberians can't even tell who those free slaves from the U.S are. I think my father's family is part of that group.

      Annie Howe That's very true. My dad is a native Liberian but he know's some Americo-Liberians but they don't even care about that really.

      Cocoa Boayue The America-Liberians are the educated ones who become presidents. Them and their families pretty much run Liberia. Not all the time though. I'm Grebo. My tribe and the Kru people were the first in Liberia, even before the Europeans showed up. The Americo-Liberians just mixed in with the Indigenous Liberians. They had to learn their languages. All the other tribes came later. Grebo is one of the Kru languages.🤓❤️️

    • @cocoaLIB
      @cocoaLIB 7 років тому +2

      lmao I'm neither of those, I'm Mah. And there are definitely plenty of educated Native Liberians as well, of course, it's mainly the Americo-Liberians who get all the credit.

    This is a very informative video. I would recommend it for every Liberian. Some people feel that because Ellen pushed for reform during the Tolbert government in spite of being the Minister of Finance at the time that she helped to bring down the Tolbert regime. Well, this video shows otherwise. To see a daughter of Tolbert who was in government can praise President Sirleaf and express her admiration of the president from back in the 1970s, is a true revelation.

    One of the worst person to have ever ruled Liberia is Madam Ellen. If you think that Charles Taylor was worst, Ellen was more diabolical and very vindictive in all of 12 years in office. All of the conflicts in Liberia has been the making of Madam Sirleaf. I am all about Women empowerment, but look at where Liberia is today, and we want to solely put the blame at the feet of Mr. Weah. If God doesn't intervene in Liberia, that country will continue to deteriorate, and it will be a place of dystopia, and thanks to Madam Ellen. It saddens me to see Liberians suffering, but I am more saddened to her walking around with impunity. Since the inception of the country , the indigenous of that land have never enjoyed their God-given right to exist and enjoy the natural resources that God has given them. Wake ⏰️ Liberians and Wake ⏰️ now Liberians before it's too late!

    Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is the first elected female president in Liberia and of an African country. Ruth Perry was a transitional president of Liberia but was selected by political stakeholders to lead the transitional government and not elected as Sirleaf was. She has two years after ebola to speed up development and see if she can leave a lasting legacy. I wish her well as Liberia deserves progress after some 30 years of deprivation and failed governments.

    Other countries are celebrating legacy and achievements done in their country over the years by great leaders,.. and here's my country using someone as a face just after an Election that was hardly consider unfair 😞 this is a disaster....
