His episode (you know the one, I’m talking about) on The Bear was simply amazing.
Which one?
The whole episode I was thinking "If this doesn't end with him going back and simply saying 'i get it now' I'm gonna scream!"
And it ended just like I wanted - which is normally not desirable in a show or movie - and it was perfect.
And Marcus in Amsterdam...🤌
I sobbed and screamed those lyrics. Everytime I watched it.
Wearing a Pequod's shirt right now. Such a great episode.

Ebon as Richie has always been my favorite performance in The Bear. His redemption arc was the HIGHLIGHT of season 2!
omg, yes!
@wanderwoo9468 Jon Bernthal did it for me. He really tries to keep the facade of the regular older brother but dude is hurting. Meanwhile Bob Odenkirk is making a habit of making me hate his characters. First Jimmy Mcgill and now this piece of sh*t.
100% agree. His scenes had me in tears the most. I have loved his work since Girls
at the end of the last episode when he tells claire "I love him [Carmy], but don't tell him"
forward to the giant blow up with Carmy cursing Richie out while stuck in the walk in. But Richie replies "I love you. I love you. I love you"
The way I burst into tears watching Richie sing Taylor Swift in his car was something else. The Bear is amazing.
I cried so many times watching the show that I forgot about that scene.
I so hope Ebon wins an emmy for his portrayal of Richie. He's one of the most talented actors on the show (which says a lot) and his performance on *that* episode was incredibly moving. Just amazing.
Wish came true!
It’s really refreshing seeing a talk show guest actually get to talk without being interrupted. Big fan of the bear and loved getting to see Ebon share so freely
Cousin's journey on the Bear has been one of the most complete, complex, and satisfying character arcs on TV. Ever
His "Forks" episode is right up there with episode 3 of The Last of Us for the best TV episode of all time. In my opinion. It was just perfect in so many ways. The whole 2nd season was just amazing.
Never ever ever. Try to compliment anything by comparing to an episode of The LAst of us. its great, its nice. But really? Like yeah sweetie your shit reminds me of a fleshlight i had in college. It doesnt work. it hurts the bear, like it hurts the sweetie.
@@nyxx7813 i can't tell which show you are holding in such an esteemed regard but your indignance is hilarious
@@nyxx7813 Do you always bring "fleshlight I had in college" into conversations so quickly?
Ozymandias >>>
I prefer “Seven Fishes” tbh
That "Was it Andor?" moment made me smile hehe
Everything on Andor was so on point. I'm still thinking about the everything of it. Marva's speech... Dang.
He's terrific in everything but on this show, he is the absolute heart and engine of all the most striking emotional moments.
Love that Stephen shouted out Andor he was so great in that
Andor was pure gold. Honestly I think it hurts it a bit that it's part of the Star Wars franchise, that's how good I think it is.
1:51 such a lovely smile
My wife is from the south side of Chicago. We always joke that Richie could be her cousin because she has quite a few cousins that sound and act just like him.
I thought for sure that Ebon was really from Chicago based on the accent. Nope, just a killer actor from the East Coast
I absolutely adore the way he speaks ! And he uses his hands to gesture and describe
I loved Cousin Richie from the first time i saw him. I knew he was going to be my favorite character early on. He was rough around the edges but you could tell even then there was an underlying potential. The "forks" episode was amazing and easily my favorite episode.
I *hated* him in the whole first season. Too everything - too loud, too intense, too violent, too impatient, I just wanted somebody to head-butt him and say _chill the fuck out._ Which he eventually did, like switching on a light, in the episode that they sampled here.
Just about everybody gets a character upgrade so far, in this series, except "Lip" who doesn't seem to be able to find his confidence. Lots of potential for a season 3, which I see has been announced but with no dates yet🤞
It's Clobbering Time!
Yes
Fuck yeah
That show is fantastic. Everyone involved is just brilliant!!
Character development is top tier on this show
He really does justice to my hometown. That whole cast does.
That episode is my new comfort watch. At first view, I was an anxious mess and it had me on edge waiting for the shoe to drop (just like Richie was). But every view after you watch the episode for the hopeful triumph that it is 😊🎉
Among the many thing this show does masterfully, the insight to fine dining that they show is perfect. It’s not all pinkies up and foam, there are humans in every kitchen and it doesn’t matter if you are slinging white plates or slinging sandwich wraps, the life of a cook is intense and filled with teammates of the unlikeliest worlds
He was also in Andor and NOS4A2, I got to watch him in those shows and The Bear within months of each other and it was such a treat to see him work in three different environments--all top notch.
He is so good, he also was in the last ship, his so badass
He was in Girls too. Which is when I first saw him.
everyone lauds the christmas episode. rightfully so. that episode they showed the clip from i believe was the best of the season. richie thought he was getting exiled and punished. for him to sit back, watch, learn and soak in the experience and become a super host was amazing.
I personally thought the Christmas episode was too long and a little overkill. Stylistically it was beautiful and I loved certain parts of it, but as whole episode, I don't think it was the best episode of the series. The "exposition" contained in there where you saw the history of mental illness/addiction and the family dynamics was helpful, but it also was super drawn out.
The "forks" episode was a gem. It had so many aspects to it where, like you said, Richie thought Carmy was punishing him and trying to get him to quit because of his own building insecurities and anxiety about "the old way" being pushed out especially with the closure of local bars and restaurants and them changing the whole way of doing things coming to a head. Richie's struggle to find "purpose" up until that point. Nothing overt in the acting just you see through the episode him actually gaining confidence and getting up earlier until he overhears that family never having Chicago pizza before and his strength of knowing people and creating rapport and wanting to "take care" of people comes through and when they give him permission to go get a real pizza, I got choked up. Then him peeling mushrooms with the owner/exec chef and learning "the calm" that can come from working in food too and it's not always chaos, really came to the culmination when Sydney asks Richie to do tickets when they're super stressed out and he brings a "calm" to the atmosphere. Just beautiful storytelling. Plus the looping in of Taylor swifts love story and both the love of his daughter and the really crushing reality of his relationship with Tiff is just ALL the emotions. Sorry I wrote a lot... Just love what they did with Richie.

Cousin Richie is my second favourite cousin. Besides Cousin Greg.
Ha! Indeed!
The color of this man’s eyes is otherworldly. They are turquoise ocean blue my godddd I’m jealous
And the rest of him is so beautiful too ❤
The Bear wouldn’t be the same without him. Amazing talent 👏👏👏
Ben Grimm aka The Thing. I gotta see the new fantastic four movie!!!
Yes
Forks.
Masterpiece television episode.
💯
Loved him as Micro in The Punisher love him even more as Richie in The Bear.
Cousin!!! Glad to see he made it.
Outstanding actor!!
He was my favorite character in the show. Incredibly strong actor!!
He is so so good
he deserved to win the globe for this season. I still hope he wins the emmy.
He just won Emmys!!!!
Awards this year were only for season 1 because the strikes messed up the eligibility period, so season 2 (where this ep is from) will be judged in next year’s awards season
I love his character and he plays that complex suite of emotions so beautifully
Ebon, you make that show. Not that I dont love the whole ensemble, but I watch it because of you.
So true. The writers have done a fabulous job creating the bones of Cousin, but this guy brings Cousin truly to life. Love him.
He had me screaming at the TV when he came in clutch in the 2nd season. SCREAMING, dude had me tearing up
I always enjoy being introduced to someone I’ve never heard of through a good interview. Thanks, Stephen!😊
I tense up when i watch The Bear. Its so much anxiety and distress that i cant cope. And this guys arc in S2 is amazing.. 👌
I loved Ebon in Punisher season 1, it was also great to see him in Andor. Forks episode and his character growth in Bear S2 was amazing.
I loved his line drop “Streets Ahead” during his speech to The Bear servers. Excellent shout out to another of my favorite shows - Community. I literally giggled with glee.
He does amazing work ❤ He deserves an award
You can see how much his personality differs from his characters. The sign of a great actor.
I'm glad he and Bernthal got to have a reunion on this show, but also Richie, in season 2, was awesome!
To me. He is the stand out of the show. Jeremy and Ayo are great too but Richie is my jam.
I predict an Emmy win and possibly a Sag win for him.
They just won Emmys!!!
@@truelove2283 😊 I heard. I wonder what will happen with the sags. Ebon and Jeremy are in the same category. Gonna be a bear face off
he is so fiiiiine
Andor and The Bear are two shows on my "gotta watch" list that I never get to, but I loved Ebon in The Punisher so maybe I should make the time.
Gotta make the time, cousin 😊
The Bear is one of the best shows to ever come from a post-streaming over saturated with junk
Andor is so good. It's not good as a Star Wars show, it's just good, period. There are monologues from Andor that I still read from time to time, so powerfully written, delivered perfectly on point by the wonderful cast. With all my heart, please watch Andor. Show Disney that we want more shows like that, and not just a constant onslaught of Star Wars fan service all the time.
I'd like to point out that this guy out of school was making $17-18 an hour, 20 years ago. This is why poor people are desperate as they basically make less than that now. Meanwhile the richest people are only making more money.
Right? In 2000 minimum wage was like $5.50. $17-18 was an awesome wage for a fresh college grad
In college 20 years ago I was a delivery driver for a sub shop, and made a similar amount. It's not that uncommon. Even today, people can hop on Doordash or one of those services (even with just a bike) and make $25-30.
Lol you're not making 25-30 on Doordarshan. Plus that requires owning a decent vehicle (insurance, gas, maintenance, etc)
❤he is magnificent in it
Ebon is going to be amazing as Thing. Baruch Hashem for all of this individuals talents.
He was so funnily idiotic in girls but then when I saw him in punisher that wiped that away,he was so great and he’s got great chemistry with Jon bernthal, but then seeing him in the bear and andor just made him one of my favourites and so unlike any of his characters! He’s a great career ahead 😊
The Bear is brilliant
Love Cuzz! Awesome show ❤
I always remember him from Mona Lisa Smile as the boyfriend.
When I found out about that I was totally shocked it was the same guy. I had to find a clip from MLS to see. He was younger, yes, but OMG what a chameleon of an actor, wow.
yes Chef!
I only know him from Bear. He is a hell of an actor.
I grew up in Chicago, South side and North side. Evan's "Cousin Richie" sounds like he grew up with us.
His name is Ebon.
Tbh his character was my least favorite early in the first season but his arc is deeper than I forst thought and he is becoming one of my favorite characters.
The fact that he is not from Chicago is both impressive and also little disappointed
GO GET'EM, CUZ!
John Quincy Adams has age so gracefully
... has aged*
COUSIN!
No mention of the show 'Girls'? It was excellent, and he played a complex character there.
Desi
He'll always be "the guy who ate Allison Williams' ass in Girls" to me.
Heard he is gonna play The Thing Ben Grimm in new Fantastic 4, that will be awesome
Alot of people dont know this, burt katz who founded pequods and sold it pretty fast after opening opened another pizza restaurant called burts place in morton grove, literally across from OG pequods. And its tavern pizza the unspoken Chicago style.
*pan pizza, but tavern as well
Thats so funny- we were watching willie wonka the other day and i said “you know who looks like Gene Wilder! Jeremy Allen White!” ha
Love cousin!
Loved him in Girls 👏
This guy looks like a healthier Bert Kreischer that's not a raging alcoholic 😂
He was also great in Andor
we love you cousin
" whats up cousin!! "
Real ones know him as Micro from The Punisher 🫡
Dude's name sounds like he's from the Star Wars galaxy.
It's the hyphen
He wears suits because it makes him feel better about himself.
He was responsible for their best hour, imo, but Jamie Lee Curtis isn't more than a thin slice of roast beef behind him.
The thing 🎉🎉
If that was the only clip of the bear I saw I would definitely get the wrong impression of that character
COUSINNNNNNNNN
DAAAAA BEARs! 😂
Hey, I think I saw him before.....in The Punisher....
This fellow looks like a cross between Gerard Butler and Eric Clapton.
Please deepen the voice for The Thing. Marvel loves giving any huge sized charecter who isn't hulk super high pitched voices.
Korg being a prime example.
Please do Thing justice sir.
You already naturally have that "Ben Grimm positive" attitude.
I trust you to play one of my favorite heroes of all time. Please do it justice, and show the world how good, and awesome the fantastic four really are. They forever had the best stories with endless possibilities than any other team. You also can't beat the chemistry between how the characters laugh, yell, and cry together depending on what's happening. The endless legit fighting they do with eachother, but always end up hugging it out at the end.
Ben Grimm is a family man, stuck with a very unconventional power that turned him into a monster in his eyes. But he's got the biggest heart of the entire F4 team forever and always.
I love The Thing so much.
Congratulations on getting the part! ❤️🙏🙌
You know he’ll never see this, right?
@@Historian212 OH, you'd be very surprised. I've talked to a ton of celebrities just commenting on their posts, and they actually respond. Yeah, this is a news interview so I doubt he will see it. But you'd be super surprised how easy it really is to get in contact with these people.
so Microchip and the Punisher retired and decided to run a family sandwich shop...
Forks baby!
I'm obsessed with The Bear at the moment. Every episode leaves you absolutely wrung out from the anxiety and stress and grief. At the start I hated Richard for being such a bag of tools all the time but he's grown on me as the episodes go on.
I started to watch the series twice before I finally got into it, because I couldn’t stand him. Glad I tried again and stuck with it. What a ride.
I never liked Jenny Jones, but maybe losing that job made him work harder to make it as an actor, so we all benefitted from that.
I only watched this bit hoping you'd talk about Andor. I must say I was left wanting more.
He was promoting a different show 😂
@@thearmchairjournalist566 i know. I saw it in their eyes they wanted to talk about Andor but were paid to talk about that other show.
@@ioresult totally 😢
Damn I remembered him from punisher from so many years ago but I don’t think I realized it was him in andor
When Stephen asks hardly any questions about the show they’re promoting, you know he hasn’t watched a minute of it. 😂
Steven put Pequads on the Map!
my love for this series is the same level as how I love Dr House and Breaking bad. that's how brilliant this series is.
Yeah, after finishing both seasons I realized it's my favorite show ever
You people have watched the Apple TV series "Ted Lasso" right? As good as The Bear is, Ted Lasso is better. If you haven't seen Ted Lasso, watch it Now.
Just Da Bears
Cousin Skeen 2024!
PLEASE, STOP THESE "JEREMY AND GENE WILDER" BORING QUESTIONS
Geez, it’s a show, watch something else if you don’t like it.
I really hate having to click on this. I just wanted to watch the interview.
What's with the different jacket?
Why is The Bear considered a comedy? Maybe in 2 seasons Ive laughed twice - usually I'm anxious, on the edge of my seat or about to cry
I know they are north side, but he nailed a Southside accent. Sounds like one of the family
I need that slim thin yellowish shirt
God I hated his character in season 1. I would have fired him so many times over!
