I really engaged with the Netball over the weekend after stumbling on the games at a local bar. Some pals helped me with some of the basic rules to keep me up to speed, but the pace of the game and how it can change in seconds, enthralled me! Netball has my respect!
My previous experience was when some local village ladies challenged us burly men to a game of netball and booked a court at a school to play in. Most of us men needed stretchered off the court with oxygen masks by the end, just saying! I think they just tolerated every rule infringement we made, knowing it would not make a blind bit of difference to the final result!
I don't understand the concept of this game. It's like basketball but without any action. Everybody runs around passing the ball then everyone stops when someone gets the ball under the basket and stands there watching whoever has the ball shoot it from 5 feet. What the hell is the point in this?
I tried to read up on it and I guess its supposed to be about equality of opportunity or something. Like, we should all get to shoot unobstructed so its fair (?). I dont get it. Its like basketball with a couple sets of training wheels.
England deserved to win...Nols relied too much on Nweke, she had no plan B even after a 6 week prep....the attack of the middies was horrible , hesitant, slow to feed the shooters....Nols is not an attacking coach and expected Nweke to take in hail mary passes from anywhere.
This is going to be a hard sell for American viewers. The lack of defense makes it hard for us to understand which in turn makes it hard to find it interesting. Seems like people like this game tho.

@@TheKatoboys it baffles my mind that it’s televised. I mean who watches this pathetic excuse for a sport? Nobody does only a few thousand. It’s on sky sports for Christ sake. 🤷🏻♂️ talk about gender discrimination. There’s more popular men’s sports that don’t get this exposure
