i had not heard this one either. reminds me of "enter sandman" which i like very much. i also love about dan that he doesn't just throw a scream or growl in there to impress us; but only where they sound more appropriate to the music or lyrics. thanks for another great reaction.

Metallica has been my favorite band for decades! I’ve seen them live about 20 times…. Dan & Johan did an impeccable job covering them!!🔥 Yes, Dan even does James Hetfield perfectly! Dan does James even more to a T on Enter Sandman. He is so talented. SO skilled! He’s simply AMAZING!!🔥🔥🔥

One of the things I enjoy about this one, in addition to what you said (and I agree with all of that), is that Dan gave the young Johan a really big break, you know? Anytime Johan would have wanted to get a well-paying gig after this video was created, I would imagine he used the video as proof that he could even do METALLICA! He had SO much fun playing for Dan...it was so easy to see.
The first time I ever heard the song, it really disturbed me. After a few times (because the MUSIC pulled me back), I began to realize what it's all about. I have a feeling that Dan did this cover, PARTLY due to the fact that he, himself, had been having quite a bad time with recurring depression. It's a very important time, when one realizes that in order to DEFEAT the enemy within, one must DEAL with it, in order to allow the outer man to live, and not die.

Dan is working on a Manowar tribute album right now, which I know he’s really excited about…. but as I’m listing/watching this video, I’m wishing he’d do an entire Metallica tribute album!! He would kill it!! I’d love to see him finally do a Megadeath cover too!

Love this song. Listen to it at least once a day. Still suffering with Long Covid, and the muscle aches that go along with it, so for me, this song is about Pain. With a capital P.
