If you never played sports, even recreationally, you can’t understand D Roses ability- pro level special, and the humility to say he wasn’t even the best player in his neighborhood, wow
As a Bulls fan, I always hated Rondo just because of the rivalry. I have a lot of respect for him, dude would leave everything on the court he played so hard.
I was devastated the moment I saw D Rose on the floor in the playoff game against the sixers. I knew he had blown his ACL and he was never gonna be the same. The most explosive and dynamic point guard in history. When that freak athleticism was taken away he was never the same.
@@masterchief5833 True, I can't imagine what that did to him mentally. Him knowing his body better than anyone feeling the difference in his athletic ability after the injury.
Bro 4/28/2012 man I never forget that day 😭 D Rose had 23 9 and 9 with 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter I wish they would have taken him out the damn game 😤 Most explosive point guard I ever seen play the game before the injury
Russell Westbrook averaged a trip doub for 3 consecutive seasons off the same style of play.. I would take Prime D Rose over him efficiency wise.. but let’s not act like he’s incomparable to anyone else/no one moved like he moved or shit.. even more so..
Rondo was nice his dam self. He was very underrated. He wasnt known as a big time scorer but he could score. His defense and assist is what always stood out to me. He was a pest. He might hit you for 20 pts 13 reb 15 assist snd and you dont even know it. Cool to hear him say how D rose was a problem. 💯
If it weren't for his injuries, Rose would of had the greatest career since Jordan. His injuries remain the greatest tragedy in modern basketball history.
Put some respect on D rose 🌹 fuckkn name thanks rondo people forget d rose was a nightmare for these point gaurds they swear are the best point gaurds now
The two worst days in Chicago History in this century was when the Bears LOST in the Superbowl against the Colts, and when D Rose tore his ACL. I'll never forget those days. I hope they honor him with a Grant Hill HoF type induction cause for almost 7 years there was nothing like him... even after his ACL tear he was still nice until of course the injuries afterwards started to pile up.
The one guy that does have some drose in him is Ja. Theyre not exactly alike but the hang time and ability to contort their bodies mid air and finish is similar.
Is this a trick question?! Yeah, D-Rose had a _great_ early career, but he was never the same after the ACL tear. Rose only had three superstar-level seasons, and with his career stats some even question whether he'll make the HoF (I'm not one of them, BTW; I think he'll eventually get in on the virtue of his MVP award). Pip's still safely the # 2 Bull in my book with better overall franchise career numbers and success than Rose.
People comparing Ja to DRose, not even close though Ja has a higher statline than MVP Rose, he's nowhere near. Current NBA Rules nowadays benefit the offense more, hence higher scoring stats for everybody.
5 dinner guests, dead or alive and this dude starts with, "Tupac, Biggie, Jay-Z..."?? I mean... I like their music, but when you think about all of history and the various men and women that have made significant contributions... why on Earth would I pick these 3?? Heck, that's an easy list... Jesus, Paul the apostle, Flavius Josephus, Malcolm X, Hellen Keller (or Anne Sullivan), Dizzy Gillespie, Yoko Kanno, Bob Marley, Ray Charles, George Washington Carver, Stevie Wonder, Bill Cosby (yes, Bill Cosby), Alexander the Great... I mean, the list goes on and on... Oh, and I agree -- DRose was a beast in his prime...
Prim drose could shoot from the perimeter middy deep 25+ feet finish in the paint dunk on mfs catch lobs steal block chase down blocks literally could do it all just had horrible knees our closest shot to a winning dynasty blown by a knee
I will never understand they hype over a dude who had one great year, 3 good years and like 7-8 mid years. There’s actually people that consider D-Rose over CP3 and Westbrook when it comes to the best point guards of the decade in the 2010’s. Sorry but D Rose is a what if legend and nothing more
i gotta imagine you didnt watch much pre-rose bulls basketball... that dude almost single handedly turned the bulls into title contenders. The fire rose reignited in Chicago was crazy... My good friend Jaime is a bulls fan since MJ and let me tell you, haven't seen that dude that excited for basketball since before 2000's. And to know his come-up story makes the fact he made it even crazier. I was genuinely sad when he got injured and eventually traded.
I'm not sure what you are incapable of understanding, not to sound rude. Did you actually ever watch this guy play? Or are you someone that barely caught a glimpse of his gameplay and don't understand how insanely troublesome he was for any team that went up against him? He wasn't your ordinary Point Guard. He wasn't a floor general like CP3, nor was he someone that can put up big time stats like Westbrook. But what he had was the essence of movement. No one moved like he did while in the air with so much control, grace, and fluidity. He was incredibly explosive (prob the most explosive guard of all time), strong, athletic, and quick. It was purely marvelous watching this guy as a Bulls fan. People literally thought that if there was ever one person to exhibit signs of MJ (in terms of team impact), it would be Rose. 1 "great" year is such an understatement too. The fact that the big 3 of the Miami Heat were genuinely terrified to face him (and wished that they would have to go through another team to get a Finals appearance) speaks volumes about how much of a hassle it was to play against him. In my humble opinion, I have never seen a guard like him play the way he played... Its mindblowing to say the least. This is why people say the one injury determined his fate sadly. A non-injured Drose would have literally shook the ground and owned the East with that potential Bulls team.
