    Best line: "Who said everybody must understand everything you say?"

    It is better to do our part alone with the text and the Holly Spirit will help us too. You have to study the word, is your job. Good Mark Dever.

    I’m speaking as a Lutheran, I would have to guess that 80% of Lutheran pastors need to hear this! They infuse being theologically robust and being passionless and boring in order to stay faithful to God and the text.

      I belong to a Lutheran church in India. I thought Lutheran church sermons are boring only in India! So sad to hear this is the same throughout the world. 😢

      I mean, y’all are pretty much just Catholics without a know the infallibility of the Pope; at least the conservative, liturgical churches are. Can’t really speak about the progressive Lutherans.

      Are you advocating no preparation? What, exactly, are you calling “the craziest thing [you’ve] heard? Thank you.

      @@tallentstravels5727yes, you don’t prepare a sermon. You preach what’s on your heart given to you by god. You don’t know what people need to hear to bless them but god does. The Holy Spirit will lead you. Any church I’ve gone to is this way. It blesses people in the spirit. 1 Corinthians 2:10-16 is a good explanation

      @@vertreesd So what’s the problem with a preacher putting on paper what is given to him by God, and then preaching it?

    • @vertreesd
      @vertreesd Рік тому

      @@tallentstravels5727 because it’s words and thoughts of man. When preaching the word of god, the holy ghost can move you in different directions if you’re sticking to a script u will resist what comes to your heart. It moves you in the spirit. It’s my experience and understanding. U can prepare with a subject but can end up preaching a message you weren’t expecting. The Bible talks about this subject a lot. God rejected these things in the Pharisees.

      @@vertreesd This is by far the most foolish thing ever said about preaching.
