- The Lone Woman of San Nicolas Island - The story of the person known variously as Juana Maria, the Lone Woman, or Karana in the children’s classic Island of the Blue Dolphins, is familiar to many people. Great series! I just bought the Blu-Ray of Island of the Blue Dolphins. It's a beautiful film. I remember watching it in elementary school back in the 70's!
Thanks you…Very cool, I didn’t see it till we cut the film…
In the third grade, the teacher read us the Story.
I remember a number of the events rather vividly, but i didn't remember how it ended. I remember that i didn't like the ending.
I'm glad to run across your videos niw.

How old was she when she was left alone?
They said she was in her 5o's when rescued .... Back track from there....
It’s sad to know that if people would’ve just left her alone, she would’ve lived to old age.
good series but they should have left her on the island...they shortened her life by taking her away
I thought that was tragic as well. Her life was shortened by intermingling with white people in the mainland while her immune system was weak.
A better book is December's Child
It's chumash stories translated by Harrington
