As a reading teacher of over 30 years, Tasha Tudor is one of my favorite people. I had the pleasure of meeting her several times and even developed a correspondence with her. What a joy to see her remember in this tea!
Having worked part-time as a library clerk in the Children’s Room of a local library for a time, I visited the magical world of all children through observation and the push of my fingers on any given page. The illustrations of so many of the early authors like Tasha Tudor and Beatrix Potter are a blessing to behold. May we never lose the inquisitive nature that learning evokes. Exposure to our local libraries are vital to keeping our imaginations alive! Bless you for sharing your thoughts with us.
I say you are the worlds best grandma! I already love Beatrix Potter and now I am excited to learn everything about the wonderful Tasha Tudor. I am sewing a Laura Ashley inspired summer dress but had to put down my sewing to focus all my attention on you and the tea party. I was transfixed throughout and delighted especially with the little tea set and all the charming guests. You strike the perfect balance of teaching, inspiring and nurturing. Thank you Jeri, I will visit again soon.
Thanks for the nice comments. To tell you how old I am, I have the original Laura Ashley dress I wore in my mid twenties; her style became very popular in the 80's and I loved the look.
Jeri has so many beautiful items in her vids, she just MAKES ME CRY!!! I mean a lace edged cuff, with a roaming peacock and an antique pitcher pouring homemade tea, all on a gorgeous sunny back drop. You cannot get more beautiful than that. She makes my cry that the world can be, if we let it and make it, a very beautiful thing!
I know exactly what you mean it is so dreamy, I would love to have lived in this way, I still have a chance as I am moving soon. I won't be able to make all the foods myself but `I will have ago at learning watercolour and making time to bake more and I want to grow a beautiful garden to entice the birds in memory of my late parents who loved working in the garden and even more so watching all the wildlife venturing in after we had gone in! I had a tiny dolls tea set also and the Secret Garden was one of my favourites books and it was adapted for TV later on. What a wonderful journey this video has been!
I’m watching this video twice. This time, I’m watching it on my big screen tv, first thing in the morning, with my coffee and peace and quiet. What a wonderful way to start my day! 😊
Jeri Landers of Hopalong Hollow well, it was a wonderful treat, let me tell ya! I was drinking my coffee, making breakfast, and watching it all while the kids were still asleep. 😊 Started my day off right.
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow haha!! I was watching this on my big screen when my internet went all wonky and now I am just getting the spinning ball of death instead of the video. 😂😩😂 I guess that means it’s time for me to check on dinner and come back to this on a bit. 😏
This whole thing was like a warm cup of tea for the soul-- utterly comforting. ☕ The first time I heard of Tasha Tudor was walking through a store and seeing a magazine with a glorious 1840s dress on the front cover, & being so enthralled with it, that my mother bought the magazine for me. I spent the whole afternoon rifling through the pages, which featured photographs of Tasha Tudor's antique clothing collection...and I felt such a soul connection to her because she talked about how she felt at home in old clothing and she frequently wore 19th century dresses, which was my dream ever since I could remember. I then probably rented every Tasha Tudor book in existence at the library. I remember that her unabashed embrace of living the way she wanted was so impactful to me-- because I wanted to live the sort of life she had, but I was always told that was impossible or strange. Even though I never met her, there was something so beautifully comforting and emboldening finding such a kindred spirit.
I agree, even as a young girl I wished I could dress in pinafores and bonnets. Maybe that's the reason I clothe all my fiber animal creations in vintage style attire.
Thank you for featuring a marvelously talented woman today. I have been a true admirer of Tasha Tudor since I first read "Pumpkin Moonshine" when I was a child in the 1950's. I grew up all over the world, in every sort of culture, but what I always wanted was a New England life. It wasn't until the late 1980's that I finally was able to move to Vermont. While I could not approximate Ms. Tudor's life, she and I shared a number of passions - Vermont, country living, Pembroke Corgis, a love of the past, and gardening. I finally was able to meet her at a book signing in Manchester, Vt, and eventually this led to an invitation to her home. One of highlights of my life - she was exactly as I had always imagined her - the home and gardens were a feast for the soul. Sadly, I no longer live in Vermont (groan, Alabama) but not a day goes by that is not filled with fond memories. Nina Crow Plack
What a wonderful memory and experience, you are so fortunate to have met the lady! I'm glad that she was as you imagined her to be. I actually forgot to mention that she lived in Vermont.
Such a beautiful video. You have presented Tasha Tudor in a most perfect way. Jeri, I see such a similarity to you with Beatrix Potter and Tasha Tudor. Keep being you. Blessings.
Watching your beautiful and magical videos at 4am due to insomnia. Thank you for quieting my mind so "sleepless anxiety" doesn't set in. You are a rare gem in the UA-cam community.
I thoroughly enjoyed your story today. The sounds of the garden and of making lunch were heavenly. How delightful to have the peacock and the furry creatures visiting the table. I was aware of Tasha Tudor’s artistry from my favorite magazine “Victoria” but had no idea she was such a prolific artist and author and homesteader. Thank you. ☕️❤️
My mother introduced me to Tasha as a child and I've been a fan of her art and gardening style ever since. Mom also bought me Tasha Tudor's Garden book for my college graduation which was autographed my Tasha. It remains one of my favorite garden books. Thank you for your videos, I find them so inspirational!
Thank you for your videos. We love the same things! I guess that we were born in the wrong era... Well, I made the blueberry muffins, only I used some black mulberries from my tree that I had frozen. They were delicious! It's a cold day in December here in the Central Valley, Ca, so I substituted tangerines off my trees since my summer peaches are long gone. These, along with a cup of french roast coffee and my Japanese cobalt blue willow and I felt that I was right along there with you. Denise
I always feel transported by your videos, Jeri. A blessing during these times. Off to the library to get Tasha Tudor books. Many thanks for your inspiration!
"Tasha Tudor`s Book of the Garden" is one of my favorite books. I bought it years ago in Sweden, where she was known very well. I love her style of life, she lived.
What a wonderful (it doesn't feel like a youtube video) documentary. I so enjoyed the introduction to Tasha Tudor whom I never heard of before. She was quite the pioneer and a strong willed woman. The blueberry muffins look delicious and your bouquet is so pretty with all those beautiful peacock feathers. Best of all is when you zoomed out and the peacock was perched on the fence right behind the bouquet. What a lovely sight.
My book order from you arrived today...just the Icing on this lovely "Cake" of a day! Such a lovely video! Thanking God for your wonderful talent...you are right there along side Tasha in my admiration!
I remember when I was a child growing up in Alabama, my grandmother was given a basket of peaches which she canned as preserves. She threw the seeds/peels out in the compost area and would you believe, a couple of those peach seeds grew into two productive fruit trees for years.
What a beautiful tea ,and tribute you paid to the beloved Tasha Tudor ! I ,too have always loved and admired her life ,and art . You remind me so much of her !! Thank you for sharing this tea with us !
I was drawn to Tasha in the early 90s when I found her Advent and Christmas book in a library branch. I was utterly fascinated with her look and home. Adding to all that specialness was the fact that Tasha had signed the book. Then I realized I had seen her illustrations in The Secret Garden. I was absolutely hooked from then on. I borrowed that book for years thereafter.💖💐
Lovely old sink, I'd leave it exactly in the condition it is and place a water fountain in it with plants in and place it surrounded by plant life out in yard or inside the home. As for Tasha, Jerri you did her proud! In that short time you did cover quite alot of info about her. I have loved Tasha since my early 20's, collected her info, books, DVD, bought items and peruse her site often. Everything I've ever prepared out of her cook-book has been very delicious. I know when her cook book was published she was livid because her receipts (as she called them) were altered and ingredients omitted/changed. On her site (many yrs ago) she included a sheet of the original receipts to add to them. So I most certainly added them into the cookbook. Tasha has carried me thru many a year with her books for encouragement, ideas, and brightened many days of renewed hope. I ave a connection to her as well, and strive to live my life style pretty close to hers, in clothing, cooking, creating art, and (I too) of freezing birds to draw and paint. Your tea and table setting would bring a smile to Tasha's face, she'd feel at home at your table. How nice that you have invited your own beautiful critters join in. And how lovely that you have friends who actually knew her and have your creations amongst their Tasha collection. Honor indeed!! My bucket list was to meet Tasha but unfortunately it will just to be a tour of her home, gardens etc. Thank you so much for creating a beautiful video with care of Tasha that has brought such a personal joy to my heart!
I changed her Tea recipe quite a bit, because the recipe called for a syrupy mixture with the juices and sugar, but I eliminated the sugar completely. It would be lovely to visit her garden sometime, as it is open a few times a year. So, you too have a "mouse Morgue", LOL!
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow I would too, it doesnt need the sugar. I love her receipts and have changed a few ingredients myself, a few of her soups, and baked goods with less sugar, but keep all the garlic she calls for, that editors had eliminated. Yes mouse morgue but birds...lol
How absolutely enchanting! Because of your gentle and enlightening way of presenting art in its finest form I now have the tools to invite my grandchildren and grandnephew into her world for a bit. Thank you for sharing a tad of her world with ours. Hopefully, through exposure like your beautiful UA-cam videos we can offer the insight of a brand new world to our children. I look forward to future visits in your little neck of the woods. Creativity is in the heart and mindset of us all if we just take the time to see, listen and learn…
That was nice of your friend...if that sink was mine I’d make it into a water feature....find a stand to put it on, and find an old hand water pump and plumb it to have a steady stream pouring into it and you can enjoy the sound from out back near a window so you can listen to it in the house, some pretty rocks set so the birds can enjoy a bath in it....put a piece of copper wire or some old pennies and it will kept the water cleaner and mosquitos away,. It’d be pretty to have a old white enamel pot in it with a pretty plant or two... I love Tasha Tudors works...
I feel the same as you about Tasha and my own childhood. If my mom introduced me to her I just don’t remember. You and I love so much of the same things. I have mentioned to you before though that I downsized greatly and divided all my past treasures of several generations to 4 daughters and so often feel melancholy about it
Stunning video Jeri, wonderful tribute to Tasha Tudor. Yes, your lives are very similar. Love the gardens, table, critters, and oh the peaches. Blessings.
Thank you for inviting us to tea! Much appreciated with great joy! Adore your guests! I agree with her (Tasha) you can never have enough China. A thing of beauty is a joy forever. Keats
I just found a jewel just by accident in your video! I had never heard about this amazing woman, Tasha Tudor. You did such a wonderful talk on her. Love your gardens and the animals. You have a lovely soul.🦋
I just learned of Tasha last year.... What a remarkable teacher she was.. Love her videos also... She really did live a hard life some would say, but I say she created her life to live as she wanted... Blessings in your Day!
Wonderful introduction to this amazing spirit of Tasha the love that you exude through your journey keeps bringing me to tears and inspiring me to keep on Thank you for sharing 💞
My childhood copy of The Secret Garden was illustrated by Tasha Tudor along with the copy of The Night Before Christmas which my Daddy read to us on Christmas Eve every year. I have always loved her books, illustrations and the way she lived her life. I love your channel. I’ve been enjoying your videos for a few years now. You are a kindred spirit.
Thank you Jeri for taking us into Tasha Tudor's world. What an inspiration she is. This video was well worth waiting for and I, for one will watch it again and again. There is so much to take in and your narration was superb, as always. Loved your guests with their delightful clothing, which graced the table. Congratulations and many thanks.
I'm 41 and just now becoming obsessed with Tasha Tudor and I owe it all to Jeri Landers! Thank you, beautiful lady! I am loving all of your gorgeous home and garden
I just found your channel last night as a suggested video after watching a video showing historical archives of a 1940s farm kitchen. It was the video tour of your kitchen. I just instantly fell in love with your Kitchen and channel! I had the privilege of growing up in a historic home on a farm with my grandparents who passed away when I was 18, I stayed there until I was 22 but I could not keep the house up on my own and had to sell it, I miss it so much I hope I get the chance to live a simpler life again one day. Also thank you for supporting homeschooling, I have one daughter and have always homeschooled her. So many people don't support Homeschooling, it is nice to hear when they do so thank you!
Hi Amanda, I am 100% proud of home-schooling parents. I was a bit of a pioneer in that regard, Homeschooling my 2 boys through the early grades, until we moved here to TN. and the small school was just over the hill from home (where I could really keep tabs on the curriculum) My sons are now in their late 30's, so this was a while back. I do hope that you will once again live the life you desire to live, keep up the good work with your daughter!
I loved all the little things you shared about Tasha! I, too, discovered her in the '80's and bought several of her books and art prints. Thank you for such beautiful and inviting videos! You bring warmth to the world.
I just found your videos and just love them! Tasha Tudor is my absolute favorite! I too found her in the 80’s as well. It’s funny because yesterday I was pouring through all of the books I have of hers and this morning I found your video. Thank you so much for this lovely video! Oh and by the way I absolutely LOVE peacocks!!!
Thank you for this honouring Of Tessa Tudor, I have watched youtube clips of Tessa when I learned of her. She is inspiring as you yourself are, as at times when I, through the last couple of years have needed a light at the end of the tunnel, I just watch one of your vlogs to get me motivated again. Thank you and take care in these strange times. =-)
Oh how I love your world Jeri!😍 Let’s see how far I get in this video before I get pulled away for moving duties. The peaches can make a fabulous pie! What an amazing yield from your tree of a year!🍑 Thank you for the information on great floral for arrangements. Loving your cast iron sink... oh the possibilities!😍 It would be super cute if a few potted plants were placed in with the usage of a boot tray as well. I will be back for the muffins and sweet Tasha Tudor. 🌷😘🌷
Thank you for introducing me to this incredibly talented woman. You are a great storyteller and enjoyed the lovely tea service you created for your special little guests. Very enjoyable video.
Hi, I do so like watching your videos :-) It is many years now since I first read about Tasha Tudor and it is so nice how you talk about her and to see the pictures and books. I just bought another book you recommended - "Herbs" - and I like it very much, think it will become one of my favorites. Thank you and I am looking forward to your next video. Best, Lisbeth
I would trade my first born for that sifter! I just adore it. We don't have special ones like that in Canada that I have found. I am really enjoying the videos you put out. So lovely and inspiring.
I just came across this video and absolutely loved it. The Tasha Tudor story is wonderful and it opens one's eyes to what is promoted in this culture and what is not. Rather sad especially for young people. Thank you again for all the work you put into these lovely videos:)
My grand father, met her in Pa as his nephew ran a little gift store in Mill Hall. She came there several times, I heard, they talked some and signed her books for my children. Loved them. I just bought several to start them for my great grands. A is for Grandmothers Doll, was read so much, that 60 years later I still remember it. I always wish that we had gone to her home for one of the tea parties she had for children. Just a lovely remembrance! Jerry, you’re a lot like her. I’m so glad I found you back on UTube. Happy Holidays coming soon.
I have always loved Tasha and her ways of life. One of the things I love about her was her dresses, I have tried to create them to wear but always come up wrong. Please do a video about her wardrobe and shoes. Thank you for bringing her back into the world. She was a great Lady.
I love Tasha Tudor’s art and writing, and now I admire the woman herself thanks to this video you so lovingly made.I just found your channel today and look forward to seeing all of your videos. You are a very talented artist. I am an aspiring illustrator and writer dreaming of creating children’s books, but so far have not tried very hard to get published. I am so happy I have your videos to watch!
I just found this episode and feel as if I have been transported to a more endearing time! I discovered Tasha about a decade ago, but never knew the quiet yet intensely strong woman she was. I imagine sitting down with people for a lunch like C.S. Lewis, Jane Austin, Beatrix Potter, then low and behold here is Miss Jeri having tea with Tasha Tudor! What a tribute to her while also learning little snippets of your own dear life! I admire folk who go against the modern grain and carve their own niche. A bowl of homegrown peaches, a sprinkling of blueberries on such a beautifully set table, who could want more??? I’ve heard men that live like this “Renaissance Men”. What do you title a woman??? Awesome, dynamic, strong, resilient, timeless, enchanting…and the list goes on and on! You bless my life Miss Jeri! Thank you, thank you! 🥰🫶🏻💐

You are very welcome. I recently had a chance to share this little world with my grandson, it was lovely.
oh my Tosha Tudor ! oh dear I must find the cups you put the iced tea in
I love your enthusiasm!
I do have a cast iron pump, it works. I think this is a good idea.
Thank you for sharing the talents of Tasha, you and others; wonderful presentation. My husband and I loved it. What a delight!
Our pleasure!
I feel the same as you about Tasha and my own childhood. If my mom introduced me to her I just don’t remember. You and I love so much of the same things. I have mentioned to you before though that I downsized greatly and divided all my past treasures of several generations to 4 daughters and so often feel melancholy about it
I would have cherished her story books as a child.
I am so glad that you have now met Tasha, there is so much of interest to those who love gardening, history and illustration.
Tasha Tudor: A real throw-back to 19th century New England....love those Corgis.
Nice to see so many Tasha Tudor lovers out there!!!
I just learned of Tasha last year.... What a remarkable teacher she was.. Love her videos also... She really did live a hard life some would say, but I say she created her life to live as she wanted...
Blessings in your Day!
I have so much of her art saved on pinterest, and I never knew about HER or her life. Thankyou so much for this lovely video! ❤
Now you know the artist behind the work!
A Tasha Tudor garden video would be amazing 🌷🌸🌹🌺🌻🌼

My childhood copy of The Secret Garden was illustrated by Tasha Tudor along with the copy of The Night Before Christmas which my Daddy read to us on Christmas Eve every year. I have always loved her books, illustrations and the way she lived her life.
I love your channel. I’ve been enjoying your videos for a few years now. You are a kindred spirit.
Thank you so much and what a lovely memory of your daddy.
Very sweet your tribute to her!!
I’m learning more about her. So enjoying her books and life.
I think the more I learn of her, the more I love her. Strange I alway felt that individuality of dress lends true character!
Well that was mesmerizing and awesome.
The words thank you doesn't say enough. Such wonder and joy. Bless you.
Very soothing voice,makes my day
Thank you Jeri for taking us into Tasha Tudor's world. What an inspiration she is. This video was well worth waiting for and I, for one will watch it again and again. There is so much to take in and your narration was superb, as always. Loved your guests with their delightful clothing, which graced the table. Congratulations and many thanks.
Those peaches are GORGEOUS!
This is so sweet! I loved Tasha Tudor also. So admirable how she lived her dream.
I'm 41 and just now becoming obsessed with Tasha Tudor and I owe it all to Jeri Landers! Thank you, beautiful lady! I am loving all of your gorgeous home and garden
You have some catching up to do! Actually, I was probably about your age when I found her too.
I have those same Tasha Tudor books. I love reading about her. I also love reading Stillmeadow books.
Those peaches are just beautiful.
I loved this presentation. Tasha Tudor was amazing. Thank you
TASHA TUDOR WAS A GREAT ARTIST AND LOVER OF SIMPLE VINTAGE PEACE
She was very beautiful.
A wave of peace always flows over me when I watch any of your videos, just love them. Thank you so much for the peace and beauty you share.
Thats so nice to hear..
I loved all the little things you shared about Tasha! I, too, discovered her in the '80's and bought several of her books and art prints. Thank you for such beautiful and inviting videos! You bring warmth to the world.
Watching again, Jeri! Starting my morning with such a peaceful video is joyful. Thank you!
I love Peacocks too, and so do those passing down our road... often slowing down to watch them.
Our pleasure!
I enjoyed this so much Jeri, thank you for the amazing adventure!!!!!!!❤❤❤😊😊😊
Oh how I love your world Jeri!😍 Let’s see how far I get in this video before I get pulled away for moving duties. The peaches can make a fabulous pie! What an amazing yield from your tree of a year!🍑 Thank you for the information on great floral for arrangements. Loving your cast iron sink... oh the possibilities!😍 It would be super cute if a few potted plants were placed in with the usage of a boot tray as well. I will be back for the muffins and sweet Tasha Tudor. 🌷😘🌷
I thought of making cobbler or pie, but settled for having a fresh peach every morning and evening. Like the idea of potted plants in the sink...
Peach ice cream. I had it once from a electric maker and havent tasted any ice cream to compare.
Thank you for introducing me to this incredibly talented woman. You are a great storyteller and enjoyed the lovely tea service you created for your special little guests. Very enjoyable video.
You are so welcome!
Tenía una gran imaginación, su sencillez fue una forma de ver la vida, saludos desde Costa Rica.
I love Tasha also and have many of her books. My favorite photo of her is her presenting her gray parrot upside down on a platter for dinner!
Yes, that is a very good Photo, I should have used it!
I really enjoyed your video
I would trade my first born for that sifter! I just adore it. We don't have special ones like that in Canada that I have found. I am really enjoying the videos you put out. So lovely and inspiring.
Everything about you’re videos are amazing and relaxing, and we learn so much too thank you x
Jeri! Thank you so very much for an absolutely enthralling video..! So beautifully done and again, utterly enchanting...! 🐦
Thank you for your wonderful videos, always so peaceful!!🙏❤ Love Tasha Tudor. Take care!!
I just came across this video and absolutely loved it. The Tasha Tudor story is wonderful and it opens one's eyes to what is promoted in this culture and what is not. Rather sad especially for young people. Thank you again for all the work you put into these lovely videos:)
Well said.
She was a great Lady.
good idea!
Thank you for the email, I will be keeping an eye out for your input.
You are so like Tasha Tudor in many ways. What an enchanting video. Thank you so much.
She was an interesting soul, staying busy with art and garden all the way into her 90's.
The way you feel about Tasha Tudor is how I feel about you. ❤
what a beautiful lady.how did she manage to do all the things she did.i loved this thankyou so much.xx
Yet another wonderful video. Thank you so much. ♥️
It was well worth the wait. Thank you very much.
You are very welcome!

Oh, they were so good! Maybe I can triple the crop next year...

I am so happy you enjoyed this one; it was refreshing for me to re-read all those books about her.....
Thank you for this informative thoughtful piece, I actually never knew anything about this woman and I am so glad to have learned about her.
She was quite an unusual lady.
Yes it is sad that people like Tasha Tudor do not receive the credit they are due.
I just picked some lavender that was past time for picking. I’m drying it out and will be using it in my nesting boxes for the chickens in the Fall and Winter.💜
How lovely for your chickens!
