We're back! I found some time to edit a video and will continue to do more as I have the time. Mainely Flies continues to be my main focus for now, but I’d love to reach the point where we can hire an editor. I really enjoy filming these videos but just struggle finding the time to edit them. Anyway hope everyone is doing well and good luck in the upcoming grouse season! If you’re interested in visiting the North Maine Woods, I’m now a fully licensed and insured Maine Guide and would be happy to show you around. Feel free to send me an email if you’d like to connect, or you can book a date on my website here: www.mainely-outdoors.com/guide-services
Man I have been watching/refreshing your channel for new videos for the last year, waiting so patiently! So glad to see you are back, I hope the "in future hired editor" can do your videos justice. You have a way with these grouse hunting videos my friend. Glad to have you back, good luck this year and be safe.
Congratulations on the PhD (especially), the Guide license, and on the new Beretta gun! Beautiful model - I've shouldered that one a few times in the gun shop, and that 28" barrel model fits me like it was custom-made for me - even better fit than my 1985 Browning Citori Grade 1 Hunting. I remember my Master's thesis defense 24 years ago vividly, and I can only imagine the feeling of passing your dissertation and receiving your doctoral degree. Really appreciate your grouse videos, and I learn from them, which is not something I can legitimately say about many other UA-camrs' grouse hunting videos. Grouse season starts north of where I reside in Quebec in just over 5 weeks now, and I'm stoked! Please do keep the videos coming as you can find the time to edit! Beautiful scenery as well. Thank you!
Welcome back !!! Been watching your videos for years. I’m moving to Maine this year with my family and you’ve inspired me to learn Fly Fishing. Will hit up your shop for sure 🎉 Edit: congrats on your PHD and License !!!
Great video, I felt like I was hunting with you. I hope you keep making videos now that you graduated. I look forward to watching all your fishing and hunting outings.
Thank you for the video. I also enjoy these hunting videos as well as your fly tying. If everything goes according to plan, I'll be fishing all next week and hopefully get good quality video(s) to post on my channel.
Just saw this pop up! Glad to see a new video from you! Also, can't believe I didn't know about Mainely Flies. I'll be following that IG page very closely
I noticed an abnormally high number of webs in trees this year in northern ontario too...i think it was caterpillars ...super great year for grouse ...best i can remember they were easy to find even early on
Great to see you back in those glorious--I assume early-fall 2023--Maine forests. One suggestion: The opening coffee shots would've been improved had you sipped from your "GroundSwatters" cup!
Congratulations on your Doctorate, that’s a beautiful gift. I’m very jealous, I only get to do this kind of hunting once a year when we go north for our moose hunt. And birds only get priority if we are succesful in harvesting our moose. Love the content
Watching these early seasons for you guys up North gets me pumped for our season in NC starting October 14th. Not as many birds here as what you all have up there but fun none the less. Have you looked at getting a dog? Not that you would really need one lol
me and my dad hunt up there with some of our friends. it’s really fun cause one day we saw 48 birds in total and last year we hadn’t seen anything all day and then we take this road with 30 minutes of hunting time left and saw two so me and my friend that is 14 i shot one then we saw one behind and got 2 there then kept walking and saw 2 more and we perfectly shot at the same time and got 4 birds right there. love hunting that area.
Do you worry about tics? Are there any tic precautions you take or anything you do specifically to keep them off ? I know it’s proably a weird question

Nice new gun. But nothing comes up faster and shoulders quicker, than a shotgun with a straight grip stock.

Yup this was almost a year ago now. That it would have, but I had that back at home. Maybe I’ll bring it up this season
Very cool gift from your father. Congrats on the PhD, that is a significant commitment.
Congratulations on the gun and PhD. Keep the videos coming
September can't come soon enough!!!
Nice video, enjoyed watching. You just can’t beat a nice well balanced over/under shotgun.
Welcome back
Thank you for all the tips .
Congratulations on your Doctoric
Congrats on your degree. Your new firearm is a beauty. Looking forward to new videos. Wondering when you will add a pointer or flusher. Best.
Beautiful country.
Your videos are very professional congratulations on your degree and beautiful Beretta
I like the Grouse vids..

Love watching your videos I would love to do this someday

Let's see that nice shiny gun with week 1 memories etched into it!
Really cool video, nice gun by the way 👍
Great video. I prefer my 12g simply because it is what I use for waterfowl. I don't mind the weight or recoil. I got my first woodcock last year.
U ever hunted the bethel area? Having a hell of a time finding any here this year. Luckily we got into em up in jackman so not all was lost
Now i am wishing fall was here.
Nothing says grouse season like busting the brush with your face.😊
me and my dad hunt up there with some of our friends. it’s really fun cause one day we saw 48 birds in total and last year we hadn’t seen anything all day and then we take this road with 30 minutes of hunting time left and saw two so me and my friend that is 14 i shot one then we saw one behind and got 2 there then kept walking and saw 2 more and we perfectly shot at the same time and got 4 birds right there. love hunting that area.
great videos. I like how you tell a little about the area, but don't burn it. What region do you guide in? Are you specific to certain WMDs?
Hunting Grouse in Maine is on the list. Any advice on a area that offers accommodations and a couple of birds?
Any town near the NMWs in the county, Greenville, Millinocket, Jackman, and Rangely are also good options
shot my first grouse yesterday with my great grandpas 20 gage
Ever hunt grouse in zone 8? I enjoy it there :D
Shoutout Westbrook Maine
Alberta upland game bird season opens sep 1st and I'm just itching for some fried chicken legs and BBQ brests
2 mois et c'est l'ouverture du petits gibiers dans ma région ..
You guys start hunting in mid-July?
Yes Monday was opening day for Grouse👍🤨
Haha, definitely don’t go out! This was just edited in July
Do you worry about tics? Are there any tic precautions you take or anything you do specifically to keep them off ? I know it’s proably a weird question
I thought Maine Grouse starts on Sept 28th this year?
It is
What is your phd on?
thats insane to me that the leaves are already starting to change color up there
How could you walk by so many chants!?!?!?
Or saw grouse I would drop down on one knee putting me beneath the lower limbs
You got a great dad bro just like mine 😊
