- Amber Rose, a one-time girlfriend of Kanye West, spoke at the 2024 Republican National Convention. Rose, who founded SlutWalk, says she now supports Donald Trump.
Can you imagine back in the 80s or 90s if a woman with a head tattoo got up and spoke at the RNC.

I am a woman who doesn’t have any tattoos, and I am the only one of my generation in the family without them. But she seems to be bright and she’s very attractive. I agree with what she’s said. This is basic, kitchen table economics. And she’s right, most Republicans and certainly in the Trump faction, don’t care if someone is LGBTQ or a person of color or whatever. Anyone is welcome to join the Republican Party.
I have found personally that it’s not the case in the Democratic Party. I had once tried to join their movement years ago but they hate moderate, centrist people, they especially have a deep hatred of religious people especially evangelical or Catholic Christians. Only Islamic or progressive Jewish people are allowed in the Democratic Party! They hate the unborn and will not allow any restrictions on abortion. That’s just been my personal experience in Washington state (Seattle area/King County Dems are extremely progressive and DEI-focused).
I had reached out to both parties just last year as I was seeking reelection to a public hospital board of commissioners seat. This is a non-partisan public office. The Democrats wouldn’t even seriously consider me for an endorsement. I reached out to multiple local Democratic and progressive groups and only one even allowed me to interview and seek nomination, though they in the end declined to endorse anyone for that particular position. But the legislative and county democrats wouldn’t even respond to my multiple attempts to be considered for even having an endorsement interview. The Republicans endorsed me and recommended my campaign for reelection. I believe that the lack of Democratic concern for getting someone who actually understands hospitals and has professional RN qualifications and a 6 year track record for the office is the reason why I lost last November. So, which party will I align myself with? GOP of course. They are the “Big Tent” party.
