I like this fountain. I notice my cat drinking water more often now. But the water gets slimy after about 4 days. I’m finding myself cleaning out the fountain and changing the filter more frequently that I expected.
You can clean the filter and reuse it quite a few times

If the pump stops working after the warranty expires, where do I get the parts (a new pump)? Cost? Thanks
Just got this as a gift. Power is connected and on (blue light is on), but water won’t actually run through the system. I soaked the carbon filter for 5 minutes prior to this, too. Not sure how to get the pump pumping…
It should pump straight away... When you submerge it, nothing happens? If so I'd ask Amazon to replace it. Sometimes it happens. I had a dead automated feeder one time and had to replace it right away. It happens from time to time unfortunately
How do you keep debris - dust etc - from getting on the water?
The filter cleans the water as it drips back in, just clean the filter weekly to keep the water fresh
is it better to use bottled water than tap?
I don't think it matters but I would let you make that decision what is best for your pet
Is there any way to extend the spout? Like make it taller?
Not that I know of but if you did you might get splashing and might get water on the surrounding floor
A friend of mine uses it as a bird bath and was just seeing if she could make it taller to potentially make it easier for the bird to get under. Thank you for the very quick response 😊
@@corryfromknecht5027 you would have to DIY something I think. Maybe getting a small plastic or metal tube with the same diameter you could make an extension for it. The only other thing I can think of that might be the problem would be if the pump is capable of pushing the water up an even longer tube efficiently
