Hey like the vid! I build boats and work on stuff all the time. I really enjoy your videos. Especially the more technical ones like when your switching gear out and talking about the boat. Keep it up!
Great vid again, interesting snippets of a variety of fish and weather! Haven't seen much nasty weather on your channel before it looked like it was flat calm 24/7! :) You grow the Occies big up there too! Hope you get some calm seas soon enough, all the best from South Australia!
Cheers Shane. Not gonna lie, we tend to be fair weather fishermen. We do get to rolling around some days though, having the stabilizer poles sure come in handy then.
you guys are awesome. i wish familys were as close as you are.you guys make fishing look so easy but i know its not. keep up the good work .John from NZ
You really know your stuff you guys, crabbing, fishing awsome stuff... great family team work. Cant wait for your next upload. Stay safe and keep sharing.
Judging by the troubles you were having loosening the bolts and turnbuckles , a lot of the maintenance is long overdue and poor dad is looking very forlorn. Maybe he is trying to plan what is needed . Best of luck , love your videos ❤️🇨🇦
It will be my dream to be there and experience what you all doing. I LOVE ❤️ AMERICA. There are so much to learn in this country. We are not great but we are Pho-King-Good. 🙏 guys.
hi guys at 4:18 In the video you hold up a very nice fish can you tell me what it is i bet it tastes awsome . your very lucky to live in such a beautifull part of the world
Sorry D. Your info is incorrect. State fisheries are managed by Areas and Districts. There are no closures in our area. Kodiak's rockfish fishery is very healthy and extremely well managed. If we were fishing illegally the Troopers would be all over us.
Commercial fisherman my entire life up in the northeast (North Atlantic) from North Carolina up to the western passage US/ Canadian border.. over the past year I have permanently moved to Los Angeles in Southern California and believe I am going to go into the same line of work. These days I am trying to decide or determine what specie is most lucrative to the commercial fisherman here in Southern California...for the last32 years my Capacity on the vessel was captain most of my years of the ocean have been owner operator for me however I did work for a couple of large North Atlantic Seafood companies In New Bedford Massachusetts as well as Portland Maine
Some beautiful fish but i dont like the live octopus 🐙 because he looks like the Devil 😈 and how do you kill him because we just hit him on the gunnel and then turn him inside out and remove its oragns then he turns white
Hi Albie, thanks for the comment. We don't keep them very often, but when we do usually we toss them in the hold into the slush ice and gut later. I learned a trick recently to poke them between the eyes, severs the brain to dispatch them quickly, so I'll try that next time we keep one.
Hi Jim. We fish crab and rockfish in the winter, starting in January. It can be pretty tough, but we pick and choose our weather windows and try to stay close to home if we can.

Hi Neptune, unfortunately we can't ship internationally. Thanks for your comment!
Hate to tell you but there is a state wide rock fish closer that's been in effect since last yr

9:20 was that a seal in the water behind the boat?
It's a sealion, funny I didn't notice it when I was editing. Sharp eye.
What kind of fish are in the nets??
0:46 had to TURN the temp up to 85 !! (the bill is in the mail)
Lol. It was a cold night when that ice rolled in.

Just curious, what's the biggest rockfish you've caught?
If I had to guess for black rockfish probably around 7 or 8 lbs. Some Yelloweye get pretty big, upwards of 13 lbs or so.
The snow bummed me out. I know its coming here as well and not looking forward to it
Us either...summer went too fast as it always does. Thanks for the comment Richard.
👍 😃
😊
what would it cost to ship 10lbs halibut cheeks (not tips or fins) to lower 48 zip code 59828 incl freight?
Hi Deb. With shipping right around $300.
You can shop online at www.eisalaska.com
Thanks!

Hey guys ,what options do you have for fishing in winter ,is their a closed season ,or is it all dependent on weather ? 😎 🇮🇪
