That was a BS penalty. Even as much as they protect QBs that was a shoulder to shoulder hit on a late slide. When a QB becomes a runner he should lose his princess status. Watching the recorded game on TSN they failed to show the egregious holds that gave Dukes his run game as well, they were straight up hugging the Calgary defense players at times. I saw it at the stadium, TSN won't show it though, just like they didn't show the contacting an official penalty. I have officiated football and 99 times out of 100 contacting an official is coincidental. The only time I have seen anything like that called was when Jon Rose trucked an official into the pile, then he got to play in the Grey Cup the week after. All that said Calgary got a favourable call on the PI against Sopik. At best that was an accidental PI and not a spot foul.
The Argos are the new Edmonton Elks. Sorry Dinwiddie should be fired. During post game he said Dukes had 30 offensive plays to implement during this game. Someone tell Dukes when your receivers are covered tuck the ball and run. You can’t stand in the pocket and not expect to get sacked.
