I think the new ending is good. The distorted victory jingle gives me the vibe that you have escaped for now, but it's not over yet. The only thing is that you don't touch a flagpole in the OG game, but that just feels like a little nitpick.
my headcanon is that instead of going into the pipe at the end of the song syobon just rams into it and gets killed by nekoamon so i think the victory music is nekoamon celebrating his fresh kill

Both version are amazing but one couldn't top off the other hence the term sidegrade instead of upgrade/downgrade. Both are amazing and unique in their own way (especially the ending), tho this might sound a little bit of bias but I find the old one better, but regardless this is amazing in its own way_*
In a weird sort of way, I see this as well. I find there is no depths to the vocals unlike in the first one. It reminds me more of the first iteration of the DOOM Eternal soundtrack if that makes any sense. I think someone described that as "Loud as a gun, but as deep as a puddle". The funny thing is towards end they realize this and fix it for the most part turning this song absolutely inside out. The background theme and the vocals shift octaves. (Around 1:00 compared to 2:40).

It does not seem to have any type of weakness, however it is slower and is slower at running. We think it weighs 1000kg, but we're not sure on how heavy it is until we do a test.
