It's real tough when you don't have the money to hire lawyers that will help you fight against discrimination in the workplace. It is generally going to be your word against theirs.
This is why I love Yvette Nicole Brown, she always hits it out of the park with her comments. Meghan, dear, your statement sounds like a confession "I bring in the numbers, you can't fire me"
Gabrielle Union was getting 12 million dollars a year to sit and judge various acts on a TV show. When Evette Brown said that people need to speak up no matter what, it's easy to do that when you are filthy rich on a platform but when your a single mother of two working at Walmart trying to support your family, unless there is a gross infringement like getting sexually harassed, it's unrealistic to speak up about "what you see as wrong" at your employment without fear of being fired and losing your livelihood. Joy was the only one on the panel to bring this to light. These ladies live in a Hollywood bubble sometimes and try to put these Hollywood incidents into everyday working class real world environments isn't realistic.
I don't believe it happened as she is saying. Mel wore her hair in a lot of black cultural hairstyles .She also wore very revealing clothes. If they didn't fire her I really don't think Gabriel is telling the WHOLE story.
My experience is that any time you stick your neck out and speak truth to power you become a target. It's much easier to keep quiet and be liked by everyone than it is to speak out against injustices and be attacked for doing so. Americans constantly talk about freedom but it's amazing how eager many, if not most, Americans are to attack and repress others who challenge the status quo. The real heroes are the ones who deign to go beyond their comfort zones and sacrifice their security for the benefit and welfare of others and society at large...
I was fired for complaining about smoking indoors as well. I was labeled difficult as many black and brown skinned women who stick up for themselves often are. My concerns were also called disruptive because I was "new" while the people who were smoking had been there "forever" supposedly since my shift was after 7pm, NY law did not cover me. I got the last laugh thought. That company went under and no one got their last 3 paychecks all due to illegal deals the CEO was making. OOPS
Yup what Sunny said was right. I used to speak up about injustices and inequalities at my school and I get written up😂🤣 I was barred from being in Honor society and other groups like that because I spoke up and es seemed “disrespectful”
I spoke up at work last week and now I’m being punished...so I’m on the hunt for something else until then I’ll just keep quiet and do my work and go..😒😒 cause I can’t afford to lose my job.
Unfortunately she did complain about Jay Leno making a joke comparing someones picture with their dogs to a dinner in Asia too. And she thought that was "offensive" to Asian people. Which is rediculous when it is simply a fact that dogs are still eaten in the millions in southeast-Asia. How could a true statement possibly be offensive to the people it speaks about. Not to mention, she is not Asian. Which makes me at least wonder if or how much of the rest of her reporting is not coming from a similarly biased position too.
When it's time to pay the bill after a nice meal and now you want to get out of paying by saying the waiter was rude. People will learn to not work with her. I hope the claims are investigated, could be smolletting the whole thing.
Yvette Nicole Brown is born to do talk show television. She is always brilliant on the talking dead as a superfan of the walking dead. She needs to be on this show permanently! Do it, the view!
That's the truth. When you speak truth you become a target because too many love to live in lies to live the lives they live. Telling the truth may close a door but in the end the truth opens many other new doors. Period.
“Simon cowell’s company , ‘Psycho Entertainment’...” that says it all. Love Gabrielle Union. She is an amazing actress and I applaud her for standing up especially because she can afford to do it when others can't. I have never watched AGT the whole season and I did this time because I loved her and Julianne Huff and Terry as the host. That entire line-up worked for me. Her fashion was on point every week and her comments seemed genuine. AGT's loss. Bye Bye AGT
The look Sunny gives to Abby! I believe Gabrielle. It sucks that just because she is a woman and she is using her voice she gets labelled as "difficult". I love it when they bring Yvette around. She brings such positive and honest energy. One of the biggest mistakes they made at The View was not to hiring Ana and Yvette for good.
I agree with Sunny. Call centers are extremely toxic work environments. The customers are rude and entitled, coworkers are cunning, and managers go on power trips. People can’t just get up and call out that nonsense when they have a family to support or even themselves to support.
For one instance, Gabrielle spoke up when Jay-Leno made an insensitive joke toward Korean people. On another note: Yvette is always so good on this show.
I’m working on a couple episodes of AGT in a week, so I’ll find out if it’s a toxic work environment. Already they are underpaying us at only $120 a day...(12 hour shift)
Im confused why majority of people are saying that poor people dont have the luxury of walking out on a job. Thats not the POINT atleast Gabrielle took a stand for women in general and called out AGT, first of all she could of just said whatever to the crap behind the scenes and took that check like the females before her, but instead she took a stand and called out the bull. Be proud of her !!
Meghan picking on the audience AGAIN shows how deeply insecure she is. BTW that actually did deserve applause- she does not get to decide what the audience which is made up of many different opinions, get to agree with or disagree with by applauding or not... I would tell her off if I were in the audience. Respect the people who are standing outside to come and watch your show live. Zero grace zero appreciation.

They’re have been 5 men, simon, howie, howard stern, david hasselhoff and piers morgan. So why she decided to say they change women judges a lot beats me truly.
It's real tough when you don't have the money to hire lawyers that will help you fight against discrimination in the workplace. It is generally going to be your word against theirs.
This is why I love Yvette Nicole Brown, she always hits it out of the park with her comments. Meghan, dear, your statement sounds like a confession "I bring in the numbers, you can't fire me"
@@prankgirl9112 Thank you
Miss Brown ♡
Laurie Nicosia Not fired. Contract simply not renewed.
Sunny face when Abby said Fox has changed 😂
Gabby was a "trial" host. She didn't have a multi-year contract. Her contract wasn't renewed. Period.
Ok
It’s Simon’s production company. Only an entitled idiot wants to take on someone IN THEIR OWN COMPANY and thinks she’s in charge.
OOPS
Simon has been on the show for 3 seasons. Mel and Heidi were on for something like 7 seasons. Sharon was on for a while also.
I like Joy’s sweater
Yup what Sunny said was right. I used to speak up about injustices and inequalities at my school and I get written up😂🤣 I was barred from being in Honor society and other groups like that because I spoke up and es seemed “disrespectful”
Going through this now . I've gotten fired for advocating for myself on jobs. But hey I'm not going to deal with being mishandled to receive a check
Joy you’re right!
I spoke up and lost my job.
I’m a teacher
That's the truth. When you speak truth you become a target because too many love to live in lies to live the lives they live. Telling the truth may close a door but in the end the truth opens many other new doors. Period.
The irony of this panel discussing whether another show is a toxic work environment.
It would be the United States of America....if we truly considered each other all equal and become united....
AGT's loss. Bye Bye AGT
Joy is right not all people making millions are able to stand up when you need to support her family.
i dont normally watch this shows is that they dont give each other time to talk they interrapt each other..hard for me to keep up
She was not fired. She had a one year deal and it was not re-newed...
Interesting.
It was essentially a one year audition. She didn’t exactly “nail it”.
When you are a black woman, and you speak up at all. You are always accused of being a trouble maker, loud, angry and belligerent. Smh!
I’m working on a couple episodes of AGT in a week, so I’ll find out if it’s a toxic work environment. Already they are underpaying us at only $120 a day...(12 hour shift)
I like Sonny, but Gabrielle Union have her own money. So she is not only able to do that based off of her husband's salary alone.
Sunny at 3:18
Gosh, that red outfit speaks volumes. Who made that decision?
What sunny is saying is true I got bullied out of a job by my boss and coworkers all because I spoke up for what is right.
This has nothing to do with rights. She wasn't that good and they let her go.
NW W I want to see Ricky Gervais as a judge lol
Gabby complains about Simon smoking in an enclosed office: problem.
White gentrifiers in the 3rd Ward in Houston, TX complain about barbecue smoke in the open air coming from black-owned restaurant The Turkey Leg Hut: municipal issue.
Yep employers frequently punish blacks for complaining about dehumanization, racial harassment and discrimination in the work place. Thank you sunny for making it clear . Actually i think all the panel did selflessly great discussing this issue
When AGT is prioritised over terror attacks 🙄
Right .. so sad
There’s a bigger picture. Toxic workplace environment, things that people deal with everyday.
All those shows are for dimwits.
I mean where there is smoke there is fire.
