I honestly find this remake much more appealing than the original, and I love Arnold, but this one was better to me
This... really doesn't make sense. In the original he knew the man from Rekall was lying because he wouldn't be sweating if he wasn't in real danger. Here, obviously a hallucination could cry. It proves nothing. Bizarre choice.
Yeah besides in the ORIGINAL, the version played by Schwarzenegger seems sceptical but remain calm to analyse the reaction of the psychologist who was trying to fool him and when Doug saw that he was lying, he could see what was really happening. It seems to be a logical reaction. The remake however couldn’t really be convenient at this point and just as you say, this doesn’t really make sense.
Dont understand what all the fuss is about. One, he caught Harry out in a lie, secondly he discerned it was Real when once he noticed her reaction namely the Tear, he went on logic, reasoning and more importantly Human Emotion. Get your point in regards to the Original but a Remake is not going to be 100% identical, no remake ever was, Artistic License and all that.
Depends on which cut you saw
The theatrical cut ends on an ambiquous note but the director's cut ends with the movie clearly stating that Doug is actually inside a dream scenario

This movie is essentially Total Recall from 1990 with all the fun stuff removed

Compared to Verhoeven's movie, this is just stupid. You can clearly make an imagination cry if you IMAGINE IT, but when someone is fused like Harry/Edgemar into your mind, he can't sweat if he knows he's not in any kind of danger, because he's not your imagination. OG scene made sense, this one is made only because original scene is epic and as any remake without any good idea have to do, they made it worse.

I had no idea they made a total recall remake nor that it was over 10 years old. Just goes to show the massive amount of media that gets outputted that will likely only increase once AI matures.

It's a remake of an old Arnold Schwarzenegger movie! The old version was better, in my opinion!
@@trekfan100 not to mention that for that remake, it was not really confirmed exept at the end of the Director's Cut, if all of this was real or not.
