Great information here. I have to take AP/AR tests for a recruiter. I got my accounting degree like 2 years ago and forgot a lot of stuff because nobody hires graduates these days. Hoping I can get a job in these horrid time. Shalom V'Lehitroat
@@mullagee3508 well I did pass the testing but the recruiters haven't had any jobs for entry level. Everything wants years if experience. I'm not having much luck.
@@rohitagarwal7779 I wish! The problem with doing a talk like that is the IRS makes frequent changes to the rules and my video would be fast out of date.
@@APNow Mary, thanks for the information but i was trying to say that what is 1099 form and why it is used, that video, your subscribers should know in a lay man language.
I work as Accounts receivable and Invoicing Specialist for 3 years. Was pregnant and married. Now I going back in the business world and need to refresh for my upcoming interview for AR/AP Specialist. This video tackles every important information not only in theory but specially in actual work. Thank you for the video. ❤❤❤
This is really helpful, I am a customer operations coordinator, I work for a supplier and our customers/buyers have their AP pay our invoices, it’s nice to know what goes on on your end. I know firsthand all the crazy stuff that can happen, I have empathy for everyone involved, but this was good! Our department used to not even contact our customers for PO decisions for pricing discrepancies (seems like 3/4 POs do not match the price in our system for them, customers don’t update their pricing in their system for years sometimes) and depending on pack size etc it can get really difficult.
Great information! My current position is AP/ Data Entry for a plastic company. I don’t have a degree but it made me realize that I want to purse a degree in accounting.
A growing number of companies are now requiring a degree of new hires. Also, lack of a degree could hold you back from getting promoted at some companies - so, getting one can only help you advance your career. In fact, I know of a number of AP departments whose managers have MBAs.
be pleasant, charming, and focus on anything in your past experiences that has anything to even remotely do with AP. Are you good in ExceL? Do you know basic accounting? do you have good customer service skills? Are you good at dealing with discrepancies (in numbers), etc. Learn as much as you can before you go. Good luck @airanelizondo7295
Would you recommend a special email address for the accounts payable department? We currently give our primary company email address to vendors to email invoices to. Is a separate email address for accounts payable best practice?

You need an accounting degree to do AP? I don't think so. Maybe a diploma or certificate in bookkeeping

Suggestion, please slow down a bit.
I was a little speedy on this one - sorry

Do all A/P people deal with 1099

@@suecook8379 about 3/4 deal with 1099. All need to understand sales and use tax on invoices, but only about 1/2 actually do the use tax reporting
