    I was in the building. The entire crowd started chanting “we don’t know you” right after they went off air. So much so that Sanjay had to get on the mic and tell us “he doesn’t know you and he doesn’t give a shit.” 😂😂

    I've been with AEW since day one, and I'm a massive fan, but pulling a lights-out debut like that after what was not only a stellar show, but an incredible match with Joe and Suzuki was ridiculous and it deflated the episode right at the end for me. I understand breaking into a market, but you guys had a killer episode, filled it with awesome matches and progressed so many great storylines, and then pulled the trigger on a debut for someone most of us have never heard of like it was a bigger deal than Joe V Suzuki... I don't know, guys. I love AEW, but I'm not lovin' that.

      Esp as at least four parts of the debut (Punjab, little in ring experience, a manager and squeezing the cranium) are nearly direct copies of "The Great Kali". I am long done with the lights out intro/debut its way overused and cheap.

He was never saying bots would post negative comments even. He said an investigative stats report for that a common modern social media marketing strategy was being used, where negative comments were likes by bots in order to push them to prevelance and to interfere with algorithm results. This isn't some outlandish claim. It's something common in corporate social media marketing. Companies do it in reverse too by bot-liking positive comments.

      Glad that someone mentioned that. TBS (initials to rub it in at the time) was incredibly agile. Yet for some reason when he worked for New York they focused on his size and strength and the wallop he packed in his chops to the chest. All well and good. I remember a Thursday night WCW in Huntsville, Alabama in the early Nineties when the converted College Basketball player known as The Giant jumped over the top rope to the floor, landed on one foot, and galloped off after somebody giving chase! It was a truly astonishing moment by an ace Athlete.🤔😂😮🎤🤼‍♂️B.W.

      The honest reason is that Indians don't have the kind of genes to make us that large in size. These guys aren't normal. Like literally. They aren't. If you notice, they can't actually walk properly, they have speech problems and always have a deformed face. (that includes Great Khali as well. Man couldn't speak one sentence clearly, even in his own language.) That's NOT how a normal human looks! Indian or any other. While people like Paul or Kane are naturally huge, hence they can do these incredible things.

    I love the formula of Minoru Suzuki in AEW. His character is just like "I don't need a story, I just show up when there are badasses to fight with"
    And then the plan for the match is always "lets actually beat each other up for 10 minutes, then I'll put you over" and it's awesome to watch every time.
    Though honestly, I was sorta hoping Suzuki might win this time, since he had just won the title, but hey, he probably has to go back to Japan or something, so it's whatever, the match was still great
    That being said.....after the match felt SO late era ROH......like, the not good part. So corny, so indie-rific, so contrived and pointless. Does ROH REALLY think they need a discount version of Great Khali?

    • @knightshousegames
      @knightshousegames 2 роки тому +23

      @@brandonl.kingston635 While I would like to see Suzuki win one in AEW, I don't think they are burying him, because it's hard to bury a legend, especially with top level talent.
      Part of it also might be Suzuki, he might just be interested in giving back to the business now, giving top guys in a new company the rub.
      And I definitely think Joe is a believable contender against Suzuki, he held the ROH World Title for 2 years back when that title actually meant something, and arguably it had the prestige it had because of Joe, and the mystique he built around it back then. Also, he was able to hang with Kobashi (even if he didn't win). It's not like Joe just walked over Suzuki, they had an intensely physical, competitive match where it felt like either one could have won right until the very end. Considering how old Suzuki is, the fact that he was able to withstand such brutality, especially from Joe, he didn't look weak in the slightest upon losing, he looked like the badass he is the entire time.
      With Moxley, that was more straight forward old guy giving the young guy a rub. They seemed like they were building Moxley against all the Japanese legends before what looked like was gonna be a monster heel run before he went to rehab. I am not a big fan of Moxley, but I understood the logic of it.

    • @knightshousegames
      @knightshousegames 2 роки тому +10

      @@chicken31947 But when you see what he does in the ring, no one is gonna think he is weak.
      I think the idea with this formula is it isn't about the destination, it's about the journey, people just wanna see 2 badasses, to borrow a phrase from Stone Cold, beat the dog shit outta each other, man.
      The impression Suzuki's character gives me is that he doesn't care about winning or losing, he is just out there looking for a good fight with someone who can dish it out as well as he can. And that in itself is kinda badass.
