This is the first music video with Adam Bastien, their newest member. Austin decided it was time to stay home and start a family. This was a fantastic introduction and Bastien fits in perfectly. I am looking forward to seeing the fun, energy and all the new things he will bring. Thanks for the Home Free reactions.
So not Mr. Fantastic... got it :). He fit in amazingly well. Their sound was still very Home Free but with new life breathed into it. What an amazing debut to their fans. His voice is crystal clear to me so, I will love to see where his singing takes the group.
One of my favorite Bonnie Raitt songs get the HF treatment. What a fabulous way to introduce Bastien to the fans. Perfectly suited to his voice and personality. He was associated with Home Free waaaay in the past prior to the Sing-off as a substitute, so he's very familiar with their style. He was also part of Chris Rupp's old group 7th Ave. And Adam Rupp's percussion was fabulous, as usual. AND Gospel Rob. Woot!
So true, thank you for the added info, I never realized until reading comments for this reaction that he subbed during the Sing-off... holy cow that is cool.
It's a new singer His name is Adam Bastien and this is his first singing video with Home Free. He took the place of Austin their high tenor in the group. These guys tour heavily and Austin decided since he got married that he'd like to stay home with his career and be with his wife and start a family He had been touring with them for 10 years.
I am so glad that Austin knew what his priorities are. I have even more respect for him now. He will be missed, but considering all the videos he is in, not forgotten. I believe I first was introduced to the group, with "Man of Constant Sorrow". If memory serves correctly, he was in the front on that song.
Home Free did a great cover of one of my favorite Bonnie Raitt songs. Bastien's voice was perfect for the lead. Everyone sounded awesome in the background vocals, Rob with his bluesy sound, Tim's bass & Adam's vocal percussion. Looking forward to more of the new songs with the newest member.
Chris Rupp ( left in 2016 ) and his brother Adam ( beatboxer) founded Home Free in 2000- 2001 and won the Sing Off season 4 in 2013. Everyone has told you about Adam Bastien Home Free new high tenor but Tim does solo work and has his own UA-cam channel which is all Doo Wop / 50- 60’s where he does all the parts of the song himself all A Capella
Is it me, or would it be wicked cool to hear Tim do something with Bowser from Sha Na Na... just a thought. As for the group as a whole, what an amazing stretch of time. Then again you have Aerosmith touring since what, the 70's? This group certainly has the running start needed to get to that point as well.
Yes, new face. That’s Adam Bastien (pronounced Bass-teen). Austin (redheaded high tenor) left the band for personal reasons. Adam fits right in. Tim occasionally sings with Peter Hollens. They did Misty Mountains. They have a whole album out of duets. Tremendous singers. All of HF are amazingly talented men. They are known for their tight harmonies. Try Helplessly Hoping, One Man Band, Die a Happy Man to hear more great harmonies.
New Sub, here for more #HomeFree! Great reaction! I see many others have answered your questions. Please continue down this rabbit hole, there is so much to discover no matter the genre or who is in the group - they are all fantastic and never disappoint!
Thanks for the sub! Tell Alice to move over because I am going in headfirst. I have enjoyed Man of Constant sorrow and a couple others, but never got through even 1/5th of their music. So plenty to choose from! So much music so little time.
there are a couple "Sea Shanty" style songs...where Tim goes into the basement and just stays there.....one is "Sea Shanty Medley" where there are 2 videos, one is a TikTok style video done in homage to Tik Tok and the viral Wellerman, which this video became viral in it's own right...then a live professional recording. Also some VIP's of Ubisoft saw that original video and asked HF to commision an original shanty for their game of the same name "Skull and Bones". There are a number of videos, lyrical, live performance and an authentic original video by HF...I like the original lyrical video with game footage, and then the latest official video which is like a mini movie. Both have amazing bass, especially since Chance can do bass as well and when both are doing the low end, it is so full.
I have caught their Sea Shanty songs, so I can't react to them, but they were A-Maze-ing. seriously. Yeah, a lot of these acapella groups are getting more and more noticed by the gaming industry.
New sub for the Home Free reactions. Home Free started in 2020 out of Minnesota. Adam Rupp, the beat boxer, is the only original member left. Rob Lundquist, beard and glasses, tenor, is also from Minnesota. Tim Foust, Bass, is from Texas. Adam Chance, baritone, is from Alabama. Austin Brown, high tenor, is from Georgia, but is no longer with the group. He recently dropped out to have a family. Adam Bastien, the fellow who sang lead on this song is the new member. This is his first music video with Home Free. Bastien is also from Minnesota. Home Free has fans all over the world, literally and tour around the world.
When you are as good as HF, yes, the world renown is a certainty. Minnesota, with all the music they do that leans towards the country genera, you would think most of them were from Texas or Alabama. Very cool indeed. Can not wait for them to continue releasing new material as the new Adam has some crazy high energy.
Great reaction. I too immediately put this on my driving playlist. Tim would be quite happy that you associate him with Doo Wop. It’s his passion! 🎶🥰 They are working on new Christmas music. I can’t wait for that!
Love the vibe of this song! Bastien was awesome, their harmonies were perfection and Adam’s beatboxing was amazing as usual. If you like Doo Wop, might I suggest Tim Foust singing Will You Still Love Me Tomorrrow/Stay. He has a whole Doo Wop album and it’s awesome! Love the NY Yankee pullover!
Adam Bastien (aka Bastien) chose this Bonnie Raitt cover for his introduction to the Home Fries. I like the jazzy bluesy sound to the song. Bastien has a style and energy very different from Austin. This change could take the group in directions we haven't considered. Can't wait for what comes next. Great reaction.
I completely agree with you. The new breath of energy Adam 3 is adding is amazing. I am going to have to install seat belts onto my chair for reacting to HF.
@@ESClone27 for those of us who have been following them awhile, several of us noticed that they were starting to get into a rut. Even if Austin had stayed, there was a need to shake things up. Home Free has had several such shakes. The Sing-Off took them from touring mostly State Fairs and smaller music festivals in the Midwest to the national/international stage. The COVID Pandemic was another shake during which they released songs every two weeks to keep everyone entertained IMHO, Home Free has put out some of their best work during and after COVID (ie Sea Shanty Medley and Brothers in Arms). There's a new energy to the group. Let's see where they take us.
Subscribed for more a cappella. Just a suggestion , but you should play the endings of the videos as they provide interesting information sometimes. In this case, Adam Bastien was introduced. Recommend Pentatonix’s live performance video of Kiss From A Rose.
I will definitely keep that in mind, there are others that I cut off and missed great stuff. Classical Chaos comes to mind. I have added the song to my ever-growing list.

WooHoo! Love Home Free! Glad you’re gonna be doing more reactions.
Oh yeah! No way I could ignore awesomeness. Just sayin!

Agreed, Adam is a great addition. As long as I catch it, I will most likely react to it!

#HOMEFREE ... simply the best !
They are amazing! My list has a bunch more of their songs. Now to find the time.

Great to know! Looks like my list just got bigger. :)
Great reaction 🤘🔥🤘
Thank you so much!! I am glad you enjoyed it. Music is extremely important in my life. Some days I wish I had background music for when I walk. LOL

Tim's solo (multitracked) doo-wop album is called "Pieces of Me". He does more than low notes.
I did hear him work with The Base Gang on a collab effort. Yeah, he has probably near 5 octaves of range. It's amazing!

Quite welcome. Alice would love this rabbit hole to follow to be sure. I know I do...

To make names easier- there are 3 Adams Adam Rupp, Adam Chance and Adam Bastein
Perfect! So If I ever have three sons, they all are getting named Egon. :)
Tim Foust has a whole album of do wop. He has about 4 on You Tube.
Oooo sign me up! Thats going on the list for sure!

Just subbed for more Home Free! You can't pick a bad song from them. You may like their cover of Listen to the Music (Doobie Brothers cover).😊
The Doobie Brothers were amazing, adding this one to the list for sure!
Living under a rock much?
It feels that way at times, though I did touch grass Saturday :)
